Your leaders are preaching "diplomacy" when they should say "we can't say or do anything because we store the money we steal from you in Europe, Israel and the US"... Nigeria did stick its neck out for South Africa during Apartheid because your leaders had nothing to lose from the SA government, but everything to gain by scamming you into thinking you were donating money to SAn "suffering blacks".... You always need to see beyond the nonsense.

Here; Paramount Group is accused of selling weapons to Israel, do you know why? The founder of the company is Jewish... if accusations appear to be valid to the SA public (chances are they are not), Paramount Group may be overlooked by Armscor for the new SANDF acquisition contracts in fear of a public backlash... this is Middle-Eastern politics affecting SA politics... its the sh#t you fail to understand.

This must count as a base and disgusting post from any halfway intelligent pfool talkless of a normal person. I really can for the life of me not understand why the mods here allow you and that other lurker to keep posting your meaningless and senseless drivel on here!!.
This forum is NAIRALAND. Take your childish tantrums elsewhere if you have any pride and choke on your bile while at it. Both you and that lurker are disgusting lowlives.

There was a time here, not too long ago, when any Nigerian expressing certain opinions was accused of "low esteem".
I thought such infantile behaviour was a thing of the past. Alas, it seems there's a new insecure cohort that assigns new nationalities to those who dare think differently for themselves. sad
"low esteem" you wrote!! You always lurking around most Nigeria defenxe websites posting mostly anti Nigerian trash gives you away as suffering from extrene levels of "low esteem". Always hanging around the internet and looking for any anti Nigeria comment to thumb up gives you away everytime. I will bet my last buck that you are a black south African with such extrenely low level of self esteem that writting and up thumbing every trash about Nigeria is all that makes life meaningful for you.. Take a break from here cus you are putting off a load of good folks from making meaningful contributions here. Go thump chest elsewhere chump

Smh. You're clearly very ignorant. Whether Oduduwa was referred to as 'Oba of Ile Ife' or not, the fact remains that HE WAS THE OBA OF ILE-ILE IFE! Abeg since when did 'of' become a Bini word? The word "Oba" has Yoruba origins which means Ruler or King of a realm in Yoruba language. That was where 'Oba' Eweka I borrowed the word from (his father's people wink ) and added it to your lexicon (ouch!) lipsrsealed. #FACT. ALL YORUBA KINGS ARE OBAS. But they all have their official titles/names which they would rather be addressed as. E.g. Oba of Lagos is only that to you outsiders. His Official Yoruba title is Eleko of Eko. Any one would not be out of order for calling the Alaafin of Oyo the 'Oba of Oyo', though he prefers 'Alaafin' instead, and which explains why EVERY single Oba in Yorubaland is addressed as an 'Oba' (as a prefix) before their names are called (very commonsensical since the word merely means 'King'), e.g. Ooni of Ife is Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi. Alake of Egbaland is Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Awujale of Ijebuland is Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, e.t.c. Hope you have now learned about the origin of the 'Oba' word and title. smiley

Oba simply means "King" or "Ruler" in Yoruba language. All Yoruba Kings are Obas.

What sort of dumb question is that? Go and ask your forefathers who chose to come to Yorubaland to poach one of our princes to come rule over them. undecided

Look here guy, let's stick to facts, o.k? Whether you people choose to banish the current bini crown/dynasty tomorrow is your business (IDGF). The answer to that question is very obvious because it's recorded in history, same way oba Eweka I is recorded as the First 'oba' of benin. undecided

Maybe you should go and resurrect your folks (and maybe even flog them sef if you like) who decided to choose our 'little jungle village of ile ife' as the place to poach the prince that setup your extant dynasty. undecided

I don't know. Perhaps una people wey go drag Oranmiyan from Ile-Ife to come rule over them go fit answer that. undecided Probably the first 'oba' of benin, Eweka I, can also answer that? undecided

And last but not the least-

I have earlier dealt with this point (you can scroll back up if you skipped it). The first king of 'eko' was Oba Ado. 'Oba of Lagos' is merely for convenience. His Yoruba title is Eleko of Eko and his sphere of influence is limited to Lagos Island and environs -- other areas of Lagos state have different Obas. But really this is even a moot and silly question simply because it's been established (https://www.naij.com/832915-controversy-crown-prince-eheneden-erediuwa-tenant-benin-kingdom.html ) that bini royalty has a confam Yoruba bloodline that stretches back to Oranmiyan and his son Eweka I, so even if the Eleko was 'established' by bini sef, na same same Yoruba bloodline just dey circulate. undecided But for the sake of argument, bini royal influence in Lagos starts and ends on the Lagos island, (and by extension doesn't include any other part of Lagos state as a whole). There was no conquest as some people would like to claim. Rather, the Yorubas were being 'shofishtikated' and left the bini to do their thing while they did theirs with loyalty pledged to their kings/dukes (or the Idejo, who are the REAL land-owners of Lagos as the Eleko owns no lands).

Bini's presence only lasted through the first Bini man. The two ruling houses on the Island were/are products of pure Yoruba. One of them was fathered by an Ilesa man.

So even the bini historical link to that small part of Lagos Island (not even the entire state) is way overrated sef. #FACT!

If you are an adult, then you must be DUMBER than i initially thought!!!! Your answers to my posers are at best vague, stupid, without logic or commonsense and can at best only be conjured up in the dark recesses of a moronic slowpoke like you. It took an EDO prince to civillize you dirty, cowardly loudmouths...FACT. The EDOs eventhough smaller in population than you dreckfressers, conquered your towns and villages with ease, a fact that you morons acknowledge even uptil today by naming some of your dirty little cities and villages after the mighty warriors from ADO ( EDO) e.g ADO ekiti.

You have uptil today descendants of yoruba slaves all over South and Central America sold to the Portugese by the all conquering EDO army. Deny that fact you stupid slowpoke. Name any part of the world where descendants of EDO slaves can be found? Answer, nowhere. That y'all morons had to burnish up your weak-ass history by trying to rope in a mighty kingdom into your degenerate little history is understandable though. How else can you hold up your sorry heads and admit to the whole world that a warrior-like people who are just a fraction of your own populace. ran roughshod allover yorubaland, capturing and subjugating your dirty and cowardly little asses?

The EDOs were a civilized and organized people long before oduduwa, ife or anything the lying yoros have to throw up as their history. Twisting historical facts to push a weak narrative has become the yorubas stock-in-trade. Your oduduwa was supposed to be a philandering Arab prince, flying around the world on his jumbo 747 mat fixed with a rope for disembarkment and looking for a place in the African jungle to start a new race of people called yorubas. PHEWWWW!!!! How believable is that even to you? No wonder most of your so-called obas bleach their skins to look like Arabs or is it Arab halfcast. Phewww once again and good night.

Dude, the Ogiso Dynasty was supplanted by an imported Obaship system that was already long existing in Yorubaland but nonexistent in Benin until the coming of Oranmiyan. That is the FACT that history bequeathed to us. Why are you people embarrassed to reference the Ogiso dynasty? I think I know why. It's because it punctures and exposes your fables about your Obaship origins. You hate to admit that your first Oba was a Yoruba import. That's why. It's that same embarrassment that led you all to distort your own history by fabricating the banishment fable, but even at that you people couldn't find one with an Oduduwa name in your history and still ended up using someone with a different name (Elekaderan or whachmacallit), and that existed at a different time than the Yoruba Oduduwa. Na wah for una.
You have being here all day telling stupid lies that would make a day old child grin in amazement with you revisionist and baseless interpretation of the relationship between the Benin kingdom and your backwater little ile ife. Here are some questions for you.

1, Was your oduduwa at any point or time in history, referred to as the Oba of ile ife?

2, Tell us where in yorubaland ( outside Lagos)

was there a traditional ruler with the title of Oba before 1950

3, When did the title of Oba of ile ife change to the ooni of ile ife and who effected the change and why?

4, What is the meaning of OBA in yoruba language?

5, Which established kingdom in the whole world with a hereditatry mornachy ever sought for a ruler who is not related in blood to the throne to come and rule over their kingdom and why? You can list atleast one outside of your ile ife fable

6, If you know history like you claim you do, how come there was no Oba in Benin between 1897 and 1914?

7, How come the British with all their civilization and superior force of arms did not succeed in their quest to foist an Oba without the established royal bloodline on the Benin Kingdom but a little jungle village like ile ife would lay claim to achieving that feat?

8, Of what use was seeking a yoruba king to the Benin kingdom?

And last but not the least-

9, Who established the royal title of the Oba of Lagos?

I am waiting for your answer and maybe questions or forever SHUT THE HELL UP

Terror and all kinds of insurgencies are intelligence not military issues. When a country has homegrown terrorism issues it simply means they have no solid intelligence institutions.

As for Al-Shabab, they can't go beyond Kenya. Southern Africa is a different region. Islam is rare and state intelligence is on a different level.
Dont be too sure about your " Southern Africa is a different region" thing. There are thousands of indigenous, blond haired West Europeans fighting for ISIS and Al QAEDA. Rainbow colored South Africa is in my estimation more vulnerable to contamination than say Zimbabwe. Maybe you should chew on that for a while.

Make it compulsory? There's no law under the sun that can make such things compulsory unless the AU could magically fund it to all its members.
There is a first time for everything. These murderers are already established in North, West, East and Central Africa and are gradually pushing Southwards!! Hoping they go away or fighting them on the cheap is not an option. If the AU cant see or smell the imminent danger of having these a..holes overrunning the continent at this rate, then they (AU) should be disbanded and their responsibilities handed over to to the UN or even better still, to Mr Trump. This is a clear and present danger they cant ignore. Most African countries are too vulnerable to allow these murderous extremists dig-in or fester on for much longer without the AU trying at the very least to rally everybody to the fight. A word they say is enough for the wise.

These animals view Africa as easy prey and wont give up until they are overwhelmed by superior force. Methinks the AU should pass a law making it compulsory for African countries to spend atleast 5percent of their GDPs on re-arming and re-equiping their militaries to defend the continent against these wild animals. Your little dirty yoruba kings are not fit to CLEAN the left SANDAL of the great OBA OF BENIN. Not one of these BLEACHING, DIRTY COWARDS!!! The Oba of Benin is greater than all yoruba kings put together and history will testify to that. Your ile-ife was a dirty little village until a Benin prince brought them civilization. The Benin kingdom had 31 OGISOs and 38 OBAS before crown-prince Eheneden who will be ascending the throne of OMO-NO-BA-NE-EDO (the child that SHINES for Edo) as the 39th OBA of the GREATEST Kingdom in Africa outside of the Pharoahs of Egypt, the Kingdom of Kush (Sudan) and the great rulers of Ethiopia. Be warned not to throw you dirty, cowardly trash on something that is HOLIER, OLDER and more HONOURABLE than anything your little collective history has to throw-up. Learn to respect that which is GREATER THAN YOU AND YOUR ILK!!!!! Your Ife is nothing but a appendage and testimony to the Greatness of the Benin Kingdom just like Lagos, Agbor or Onitsha. Go and read Nnamdi Azikiwe's biograhy and SHUT the HELL UP

Up there they wrote "brainstorm" Question is, does Buhari have a brain? How can he brainstorm when he does not possess a brain? Why do we like to LIE to our sorry-selves like this?
PassingShot:
Nice development! Reflating the economy requires emergency interventions of different kinds.

Sell government assets (beginning with some presidential planes), borrow money (but at low interest rate) and inject in productive sectors, use some of the recovered loots (from Patience Jonathan, Dasuki, Akpobolokemi, Nenadi Usman, mettuh, etc) to address some of our immediate needs. And very soon, our economy will be on real growth and development.

See the useless Ngozi suggesting Nigeria look inward to tackle the economic woes! Why couldn't she ensure they do same? Instead, she was busy signing import waivers on luxury goods and giving money to Dasuki. May Amadioma strike your mouth!

These pained frustrated sadists, na una go tire. Your lords (the Ineffectual Buffoon and his Puff Puff useless minister of finance) put us in this mess.

The useless administration met over $47 bn in our foreign reserves, sold crude at above $100 per barrel on the average, took external loan for projects and fighting insurgency.

What did they do with the loans they took? What did they do with $17bn from the FR? What about the ECA? What of the loans for projects and insurgency? They looted all but you expect a magic the moment they lost!

At the end of the day, the good-for-nothing president and the shameless minister could only manage to leave about $27bn in our foreign reserves, unpaid pensions of FG retirees, borrowed money to pay salaries of FG workers, allowed BH to control three states in Nigeria.

If all described above does not mean failure, I don't know what else is.

The years between 2011 and 2015 are better forgotten in the life of our dear nation.

The WICKED LIES People like you tell is the reason why y'all live in darkness, fear, poverty and oppression!!!!! Those jets parked on the tarmac are called Chengdu F7ni and were all (15) bought in 2008 by former president OBJ. Those Tavor rifles of the NNSBSC where first ordered by the same OBJ from Isreal. Even the uniforms worn by your new Buhari airforce were introduced over 2 years ago so what has your Buhari given the airfoce since he became president? Answer. NOTHING apart from a bunch of OKADAS that were commissioned last month for the infantry. If you want to tell LIES, atleast tell the ones you can defend. In your place, i will take down this lie-lie post and cry in SHAME.

Photos: See What Nigerian Airforce Have Turned Into Under President Buhari

ā€“ The Nigerian Airforce (NAF) is contributing its own quota to the fight against insurgency in the North East zone

ā€“ TheĀ Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar, has been a role model for the Airforce personnel in the frontline

ā€“ The CAS visited the two states recently after a similar visit in December 2015

ā€“ NAF personnel used the visit to show some of their assets, arms, ammunition and contributions to bringing lasting peace to the region

The personnel of the Nigerian Airforce in Borno and Adamawa states were in high spirits as the CAS visited themĀ during the Easter celebrations.

Addressing officers and men of the NAF participating in the counter insurgency operation against the Boko Haram Terrorists, the CAS said: ā€those who deserve standing ovation, and our sincere appreciation as a nation, are those living in trenches at this time of Easter, those who have sacrificed their comfort that we may have peace and stability in the North East.ā€Ā

He stated that the entire nation is grateful to the men and women of the Armed Forces for their selfless sacrifices and commitment to the course of the nation.

This is the year of our lord 2016 and here you are still believing in that FABLED nonsense about a saudi prince dropping out of the sky to start a whole race of people!!!!!!!!! Well, lets keep this simple and leave you with the choice of electing to go with commonsense or pure folly that wouldnt fool a day old child. A guys shows up somewhere and tells you that he descended from the skies because his progenitors are called OGISOS or kings of the skies somewhere east of where you are or some unbelievable fable about some Arab with a rope who tranverses half the globe on thin air for no other reason than start a new race of people deep in the jungles of Africa that up till that point shared no ties, whether racial, cultural or social with him!!!! If the later was the case, how come it took Uthman Da Fodio to islamize the northern fringes and middle parts of yorubaland and not the saudi "sky prince" who by history would be a muslim even according to your lying yorubaoid historians? Somethings are not worth arguing about. You and i know that there is and never was saudi princes who float the skies around looking for places to drop down and start a harem of dark skinned people just for the hell of it. Your Oduduwa was a run-away EDO prince who ordered his returnee son to rename his original home after the slave that saved his life while on the run from palace assassins. That my friend is the truth.

Is the word 'Benin', a bini Language? And what is the meaning? I think you need to check the picture posted above your comment and reason with that sitting arrangement.

This goes the same way you bloody cowards tell dirty lies in your desire to twist history and turn it on its head. Now, here is a simple question for you and your likes on here who love to run their dirty little fingers typing and filling up the worldwideweb with LIES drawn from the pit of HELL. You shamelessly claim that Lagos is yorubaland, now my question is, what is the yoruba name or title for Lagos? EKO? which is undoubtedly EDO(quarter or camp) or LAGOS which is Portuguese for lake. If Lagos is yorubaland like you all unashamedly claim everywhere, then tell the world why you have no name or title for that piece of real estate that is indigenous to you loud-mouthed yorubas. Ibadan is yorubaland no doubt same as Abeokuta, Illorin (funny) or Ijebu ode. Those are yoruba names or titles and thats why i challenge you to use this opprtunity to tell the WORLD your yoruba name or title for LAGOS or forever keep quiet when history and not FABLES is discussed anywhere. The Great OBAS of Benin are way and above any title or appellation you choose to hang on any of your yoruba ruler. By the way, ever cared to ask yourself why you have so many ADOS eg Ado Ekiti appended to your yoruba towns and cities? Go ask the Dahomians why they by-passed all of yorubaland to seek permission from the great OBA of Benin to rename the country the republic of BENIN and not the republic of Ijebu ode, Ibadan or Abeokuta. To hell with you and your sickening lies and brazen distortions of historical facts. You had this rebuttal coming.
Tunami:
they should go to hell, we don't even need them in yoruba land, even people that are in faraway Cuba, Venezuela, Brasil etc. Are even happy to be called yorubas talkless them. Abegi. Iranu abasha, shiooor.

BWOI!!!! That dude sure handed their "scripted" a**es to them and looked good doing it. Maupe especially will start ovulating today after watching the video again! Sulaiman looked like a puzzled buffoon ready to bolt outta the studio. Thats what you get when you put commonsense up against scriptedsense
