Naira went down in value, from 1100 Naira per dollar, to 1880 per dollar, and the prices of everything in the market got doubled. Every trader had that excuse "our Naira no get value again" whenever you price anything. So, the entire blame was on Naira's depreciation.

Fast forward to March and April 2024, and Naira has climbed up, below 1100 Naira, per dollar, yet the prices of everything are still unchanged from what they doubled to, during Naira's depreciation to 1880 Naira per dollar. Infact, the prices of most goods are even adding on top of what they doubled to.

Head over to Technology section and all the Traders there were adding to adverts "rates are high" as they doubled the prices of Gadgets, yet those prices are still unchanged even when "rates are no longer high".

Went to buy Watermelon last time, and when I asked the Aboki why the price is so high, he told me "dola is kwosly" ( dollar is costly). He doesn't even know the price now.

So, Naira's appreciation didn't change anything from how they worsened during Naira's depreciation. Infact, it worsened, cos those earning in dollars are now earning, now exchange at a low price, whilst buying commodities at the prices of what they were when Dollar skyrocketed against Naira.

The traders are all insincere, many lying that they're still selling old stocks, whilst the other half are lying that they ordered those goods when the rate was high. Only quite a few of them are telling the truth.

Maybe our problem is not the government, but we Nigerians. The average Nigerian is self-centered, selfish, greedy, and if the Federal Government doesn't raise up a Task force to monitor prices, at malls, markets etc, then work done in the quest to restore Naira's value, is absolutely zero.

For the fact that you'll still see people on empty stomach, jump into a thread like this to support Tinubu, tells you that Nigeria is still practicing Slavery. Many are slaves in this country, not just slaves, but brain dead slaves
