I was heartbroken on Friday, but let's not beat up ourselves over this thing.

I think we in the social sciences were not favored in the recruitment at all. Asides engineering and IT candidates, the peeps dat made it were mostly Accounting or finance related graduates or those that had some sort of experience in that field.

While I believe NNPC as a corporation know what they want as regards manpower, I just think they should have saved us the trouble of thinking there can really be a place for us. And I also think they also favored the somewhat experienced GTs too...

Anyways, no matter what... We move!!!

I'll be turning 27 in few weeks, but someway somehow I still feel I'm about to have my best years yet.

So if anyone needs a Writer/Administrative Assistant /Hair Stylist/Dance Choreographer in Abuja or Port Harcourt, I'm definitely ur plug.... Just buzz me

Na wa o...we plenty wen dey turn 27 o grin

Thanks for your kind words to him. I am facing the same dilemma. I am even older than him. Recently got knocked off in the interview stage of Sterling bank Job, I have attended several interviews too on the Island for months now and now NNPC. What disturbs me is the age factor. I will be 27 by April. I won't give up.

Same here bro.. Homeless,Jobless, will be 27 this March(Highly worried over this).. despite graduating at the early age of 22. I have lost count of interviews I have been to.Will get to final stages but never get the job.Seems I am just pouring water inside a basket..nothing seems to just be working for me. Dont even know what to do anymore. I am still hoping on Jehovah God.

Local man was hit hard to say the least. Having been job hunting, for six years now and witnessing such terrible success rate consistently, left me in tatters yesterday. Thinking of my debts, my aspirations, my humble requests to God and how everything appears to once again have failed almost made me give up.

I have been to countless interviews but somehow something militates against me at these final stages. At a time my hand accident stopped me from proceeding. Last year alone, I had 3 opportunities come my way, I aced all stages up to the interviews in all three but still didn't make it in any.

Currently, applying for GT roles will not work without some white lies because of my age. Looking at my mates, they are all hooked up somewhere better. Some have even lost respect for me. grin. Virtually everyone even children who knew nothing abt my NNPC dream in the school I teach in, spoke positively into my life concerning a better job. But God said wait yet again.

I had lived in denial since yesterday evening but I think I have finally moved on.

I want to congratulate all the successful applicants and pray for a smooth career for you all. I also want to urge all the unsuccessful applicants to take heart something worth it is coming for us all in no distant time. Keep doing what God has blessed you with for now and one day you all will live the dream.

Finally, I wish all EH applicants their heart desires, It will end in praise for the Successful ones just as in the case of the GT'S.

To those who may be able to help a Chemical Engineer, your help will be highly appreciated.

For now, I am off to teach while, working, walking and waiting on God.

Interviewed by 6 panelists with a secretary...
I did remember d first question was OSI model, follow by safety n work ethics...
I was given avenue to ask a question...
I asked the chief panelist about a recent project on pipeline connection but he couldn't answer it and was not even aware of the project...
He had to call one of the panelists in the Dept to answer it, One of the panelists asked where i got d info from, I said online n the explain the connection link from Lagos to Warri n Warri to Kadunna,
The chief panelist was surprised because he was hearing it for the first time from me...
That the end the panel secretary said...

Young Man you did very well, call you mum n Girl friend...
At the end na Grace go speak

can I send u a pm bro?

Apart from me, two of my friends that also did the NNPC interview are also not going to take the offer anymore if they get it.

One got a big promotion in his workplace that almost doubled his salary. Another got a job with an IOC that offered him above N30m gross per annum.

All happened between June and now.

See men...Y we dey here hope say God use NNPC change our lives.....God abeg pick our calls

Exactly the same thing happened to me last year.. Painful thing was she was the one playing the victim.. I lost a whole lot of weight couple with the fact that I was having job rejection, no money nothing to even hold on to.. It wasn't easy for me but I am glad I finally let go and moved on
