Christianity EtcSupreme Court Favours Emeka, Assemblies Of God Church General Superintendent by benpuzzy(op): 12:53pm On Jan 24, 2016
From Geoffrey Anyanwu, Awka
It was jubilation galore at the headquarters of the Assemblies of God Church in Enugu yesterday as members of the church expressed joy over the Supreme Court’s refusal to grant an injunction seeking to stop Rev. Prof. Paul Emeka from parading himself as the General Superintendent (GS) of the church.
The church had been engulfed in a protracted leadership crisis that led to it splitting into two factions with the GS, Prof. Emeka leading one faction and his former Assistant, Rev. Dr. Chidi Okoroafor, leading the other.
Okoroafor-led faction had in their bid to stop Emeka, whom it purportedly suspended had approached the court to stop him from parading himself as the GS of the church, a matter that went through High Court in Enugu to the Supreme Court, and both parties hung their fate to the determination of a motion.
Victory came the way of Emeka’s faction as the Supreme Court on Tuesday allegedly refused to grant a motion by the Okoroafor-led faction, which sought an injunction restraining Emeka from parading himself as the General Superintendent.
Addressing the jubilant members and newsmen on the latest development, Prof. Emeka, flanked by other leaders of the church, described the ruling of the apex court as “victory of truth over falsehood.”
He commended the court for standing on the side of truth, noting that his traducers had boasted that as soon as they get the injunction, they would come and eject him, adding that God has exposed their lies.
He said, “If they had succeeded, violent as they are, they would have come here to cause trouble. But the good thing is that the injunction they were seeking was not given to them; it was not even entertained. I am happy because they lied and their lies have failed, to the glory of God.”
On efforts at bringing peace to the church, the GS said, “We are so much interested in peace and we have demonstrated it several times. We have been to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, when they made their decision known, we accepted it; the other party refused. We went to CAN, they gave directive, and we accepted it for peace to reign, the other side refused.
“All they do is to be writing petition here and there, once you tell them the truth, they will start writing petition against you. They have written petitions against Enugu High Court Judge, Commissioner of Police and the Inspector General of Police.
“I thank God over the decision of the court. We shall continue to hold on to this mandate to His own glory. It is not good to give up easily. If you have a mandate from God and you have not received a contrary message from Him, don’t give up such mandate no matter the situation, no matter the sentiments people will throw up.”

PoliticsWe Will Shut Down Imo State – Nigeria Labour Congress Warns Okorocha by benpuzzy(op): 9:21am On Jan 24, 2016
The leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in Imo State has given governor Rochas Okorocha a 14-day ultimatum to reinstate the 3,000 state employees he sacked or face a complete shut down of the state.

The workers were sacked earlier this week following what the government called “a productivity audit recently conducted in the parastatals, agencies and departments.” But Comrade Joe Ajaero, the leader of the NLC in the state said in Lagos today that Okorocha had “flouted labour laws” in sacking the workers.

Ajaero warned: “Ignore us at your peril. Banks will not open and any bank that opens should know that they are opening to give free money. There will be no light, no fuel supply, the shops will be shut down”.

Ajaero went on to dare Okorocha to fail to reinstate the workers and said the governor should be prepared to face the consequences. The labour leader also advised residents of the state to prepare for the shutdown by stockpiling food and making sure they have enough cash to last the closure of banks.

Imo State has witnessed a series of protests and demonstrations by state employees over being owed salary arrears for months and chronically poor governance by the Okorocha administration.

PoliticsPresident Buhari Disappoints Waiting Anambra Indigenes by benpuzzy(op): 9:04am On Jan 24, 2016
For residents, indigenes and guests of Anambra state, eastern Nigeria, Saturday, January 23, will go down as a day in history, when they were disappointed by their president.

The reason for this is that they had anticipated the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to pay a condolence visit to the family of one of his ministers, Dr Chris Ngige, who buried his late father on Friday, January 22, 2016, in Alor community in the state.

As early as 7.00am, there had been signs that the people were expecting the Nigerian president, who had been billed to pay a personal condolence visit to the Ngiges alongside, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Senate president, Bukola Saraki; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, among other prominent Nigerians.

The streets, were however, very quiet, as there were no security details sighted anywhere around, all of which negated the usual practice of random security checks ahead of the president’s expected visit to any part of the country. This seeming anomaly raised suspicion about the possibility of the president not attending the event.

The suspicions were further fueled by Ngige’s statement on Friday, when he said the president was provisionally meant to attend, a statement which his elder brother, Chief Edwin Ngige also corroborated, when he said: “Let us wait until he comes before I make any comment.”

And expectant residents were all set to welcome the president later in the day, but were all stunned as visitor after visitor came to pay condolence visits to their esteemed son whom they fondly referred to as ‘Onwa’, but the Nigerian leader was nowhere to be found.

Naij.com scooped later that the Secretary General to the Federation Babachir Lawal, had represented the president during the church service for the late centurion at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, an indication which clearly showed that Buhari was not likely to attend.

In fact, the dignitaries sighted with the former governor were Sir Alex Ekwueme, a former vice president of the country; Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Chief John Oyegun, the national chairman of the APC, among others.

Naij.com gathered a few pictures of expectant indigenes during the event that took place today and present them below:

PoliticsKenneth Okonkwo Drags Buhari To Court! by benpuzzy(op): 1:29pm On Jan 23, 2016
Barrister and actor, Kenneth Okonkwo has sued President Buhari to Court over ministerial appointments. The suit which comes up in the Federal High Court, Abuja with suit no: FHC/ ABJ / CS / 34 / 16 was to compel the President to appoint an indegene of the FCT as a Minister in Nigeria.

Speaking with Diamond Celebrities, Kenneth said : On November 11th, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated 36 ministers from the 36 states of Nigeria without appointing an indigene of the Federal Capital Territory as Minister. This is unconstitutional and discriminatory and has led to tensions in the FCT as the indigenes are becoming restive. All efforts to get the President to appoint an indegene of the FCT failed hence the need for this suit to compel the President to do the needful and avert a possible break down of law and order with catastrophic consequences in the FCT.

BusinessRe: Forex Trading Alerts - Season 16 by benpuzzy(m): 7:37am On Jan 17, 2016
Law of navigation in trading.
We are market sailors. We sail the market like sailors sail the sea, the market does not give a rat if you loose your money and the market is an ocean of money flowing in the direction of the strongest demand and/ or supply, As a river flows, underneath that heavy flow are rocks, at the bottoms and by the sides, ahead of it too, these are both visible
resistance/support prices we can see on the chart, but there are some resistance or support actions that take place behind the scene. What we see on the chart is the art form and actions of the activities of traders in the market and big investors -both commercial and non commercial, many retail traders focus more on the art form which appears in form of chart patterns- wedges, triple tops and bottoms, triangles and the rest, but you and l know that some of these art forms fail at times, but the activities behind the scene does not fail. Price obeys the law of gravity and will never run straight up or down, when the trend is about to bend legitimately as way of pausing before continuation, how quickly can we detect it and shift our grounds, so that we do not give our profits back to the market.

Medical doctors know the tools they need to do their jobs, as a trader have you defined your tools based on your trading personality. The stock market has its tools based on its volume and method of operations, some tools used there cannot be easily deployed to Forex unless the input parameters are changed, so even in choosing your tool, you got to find out the history of the tool and for what purpose its meant for, before throwing it into the the charts.

Sailors have instruments –tools that help them track the rocks and boulders at the sea, and to track murky stormy waters, what tools are you employing and deploying your analysis, how reliable are they? Sometimes you come to the charts and all you see is stormy charts of price movements, and we seem to get confused, savvy investors are involved even in those stormy charts and prices. We must be well trained to sail the ocean of finance with the right mindset and tools and strategy.

We should always ask these questions what are the smart money doing now based on what l see on the charts. As retails traders we are simply sailors sailing these vast ocean of money and financial instrument. All we need do is know where the “rocks “are, the shallow part of the sea or river- “consolidation” and where that shallow path leads – “breakout” then our job is to define our strategy of entry and exit WITH the Ocean movers, When the Ocean movers are through and you are still there, the account size will tell the rest of the story.

Happy Sunday!

PoliticsIt Shall Be A Great Year For Nigeria, Imo- Ikedi Ohakim by benpuzzy(op): 8:18pm On Jan 02, 2016
IT SHALL BE A GREAT YEAR FOR NIGERIA, IMO- IKEDI OHAKIM
The immediate past Governor of Imo State and Principal Convener of the Igbo Conversational Group, a collegiate association of the Igbo intelligentsia brought together to discuss the Igbo agenda and what strategies are best to be adopted to ensure that the Igbo get the best possible deal in a one, united and equitable Nigeria, has lashed out those wishing Nigeria ill in the new year, saying that it will be a good year for all Nigerians of goodwill.
The former Governor believes that no matter who is presently in the steering wheel at any level in the Nigerian State, all that Nigerians owe them is prayers and constant support to ensure they bequeath the desired nation we all wish for.
Continuing, the eminent industrialist and egg head consultant noted that while it is true that the nation is facing varied economic challenges as a result of the unprecedented fall in global oil prices and the serious shortfall in the demand for Nigeria's crude oil, Nigeria will eventually be the better for it, as the situation will force our economic planners to be more determined in their efforts to diversify the economy, whereby creating more jobs for our teeming youths and also raising our IGR, from other sources outside oil.
He charged all Nigerians and Imolites especially to enter the new year with hope and a renewed commitment to patriotism as according to him "Nation building cannot be left in the hands of political leaders alone, everybody must join hands to make Nigeria work."
In an exclusive telephone chat I had with him, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim was particularly concerned about the fate of Nigerian youths and prayed that more Nigerian youths will imbibe the spirit of creative entrepreneurship, instead of the current trend, where most of our youths have turned to beggars, waiting on the table of politicians for crumbs as means of survival. He ended the call with the following words in vernacular:
"FCC, Nigeria di kwa unu na aka, otu unu si choo ya ka odi." Meaning, FCC, Nigeria is in the hands of the youths, whatever or however you people want it, is the way it will be."
