Some people believes that a child's name is one of the factors that determines what he/she will be in the future, prior to the above assertion it is advisable to be very careful with the selection of the names for our children.

President of Omega Fire Ministries, OFM, Apostle Johnson Suleiman, has rained curses on Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, over a bill aimed at substituting the Kaduna State religious preaching law if passed into law. The bill is directing that pastors and churches must be licenced to preach.

The Senior Pastor of OFM, in a video being circulated on the social media, warned the governor to “revoke your law or die!”

Recently, Governor El-Rufai reportedly sent a bill to the State House of Assembly to regulate religious preaching across the state.

The bill titled: “A bill for a law to substitute the Kaduna State religious preaching law, 1984.

“It is also aimed at banning the usage of loudspeaker for religious purposes, other than inside a Mosques or Church and the surrounding areas outside the stipulated prayer times (8:00pm).”

Government wanted the Assembly to enact the law that will stop the playing or circulating of, “all cassettes, CDs, flash drives or any other communication gadgets containing religious recordings from accredited preachers other than inside one’s house, porch, Church, Mosques and other designated place of worship.”

The bill seeks to ban sales or playing of any cassette containing “religious recordings in which abusive language is used against any person or religious organisation or religious leaders (past or present).”

The bill, if passed into law, will prohibit sales of religious books, usage of abusive and derogatory terms in describing any religion. The bill proposes that any person found guilty of preaching without a valid licence and other offences under the law “shall be liable to two years in prison or pay a fine of N200, 000.”

The Apostle, commenting on the bill, said it is not applicable in Nigeria, hence, will not be enacted.

He said, “They will appoint their own who will make it hard for the church but easy for the mosque. When it comes to the mosque, they give them a very good area but when it comes to the church, they gives bad areas. We are not trouble makers. Don’t trouble us.

“I want to warn the Governor of Kaduna state. I have read on papers many times how he abused Jesus. I have read many things and Christians came after him, he said they are joking, nothing can happen.

“We have become men of God before you became Governor.

“I am talking to the Kaduna Governor. Listen, I am not against sanitizing the state but if you say people should get license for preaching, it is not applicable in Nigeria.

“Even a herbalist does not get license for practicing herbalism. Why not tell witches that they need licence to fly?

“When you say license for preaching, you are standing against the Constitution that says freedom of worship. I have no problem, we can test powers now. There are certain laws that cannot happen in this country, not when Nigeria is under God.”

He asked the Governor to stay off his plan, “unless you want your cabinet to reduce; people may just sleep without waking up,” he added.

“If need be over this matter, heaven will intervene.

“I am saying this to the Executive Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, revoke this law or die!”

Made-in-Nigeria cars Innoson Group of Companies is set to launch its brand new cars oriented for low and middle class Nigerians. The company, which produces cars, buses, tankers and other products, will from August 8 launch brand new cars into the Nigerian auto-market at the price of N1.5 million.

Innocent Chukwuma, the chairman of the firm, who informed about this in Enugu on February 23, said the vehicles which would be fully air conditioned and come with other gadgets were made for Nigerians to have access to brand new cars.

Chukwuma said: “I will launch my own cars in about two weeks time. And the cars will cost between N1.5 million and N3.5 million, depending on the cadre.” “Some people think that my factory is an assembly plant, but they are wrong. We do not assemble, we manufacture.

“Eighty percent of Nigerians do not believe that we manufacture vehicles in my company. But we do manufacture. “The raw materials are bought from different countries and some in Nigeria.”

Outgoing Kogi State governor Idris Wada has disclosed that 85 per cent of the N40billion received by the Kogi State government in 2015 from the federation account and N4billion from internally generated revenue, was spent on payment of salaries of workers in the state.
Wada, who stated this in Lokoja yesterday during a parley with journalists, added with the inflow of N44.7billion, the state’s expenditure in the year stood at N46.8billion, thus leaving the state with a deficit of N2billion.
This was revealed at a parley with newsmen at Government House, as part of programmes lined up for the outgoing government.
Other revelations made by the governor at the parley showed that political office holders earned N165million on a monthly basis, translating to N1.98billion yearly.
The salaries of workers in the state the governor added is N3.12billion monthly with pension and gratuities gulping N7.6billion.
Wada lamented that even the N10billion infrastructural development funds which were due to be released to cushion the effect of the state’s capital allocations are still being held back by negative politicking that took over the state since the last governorship election.
He urged the incoming administration to see that projects that would have a direct impact on the populace are embarked upon for the future of the state.
The governor who said the state was among the states that met the criteria set for the loan, including nominee banks, executive and legislative approvals, lamented that due to politics being played with the lives of the citizens, the state is now in the current situation where its workers are owed three months salaries.
Capt Wada expressed consolation that with the efforts made by his administration, the incoming government would be favoured by the powers that be to access the bailout funds as he would have no more hurdles to cross.

The London Metropolitan Police investigating a case of money laundering against former Delta Sttate governor, Chief James Ibori have been accused of bribery and corruption by Mr.BhadreshGohil, a lawyer who represented Ibori.

According to several United Kingdom (UK) newspapers published yesterday, there have been calls for an independent investigation into the bribery allegations leveled against the police. According to the Sunday Times of London, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is currently facing “serious questions” over allegations of bribery that could jeopardise investigations into Ibori’s case.

“ The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is facing serious questions over an alleged cover-up that could jeopadise the high-profile conviction of a billionaire Nigerian politician.

“ The crisis follows the dramatic collapse of a case involving BhadreshGohil, a lawyer who represented James Ibori, a former governor of Nigeria’s oil-rich Delta state. Gohil was cleared at Southward Crown Court last week after the CPS withdrew a charge of perverting the course of justice.

“ Gohil had been accused of leaking fabricated documents to media organizations and MPs on the home affairs select committee. The documents claimed a police officer involved in the Ibori inquiry had received corrupt payments from RISC Management, a private detective agency that worked for Ibori.

“The decision to prosecute Gohil backfired when CPS lawyers were accused of withholding key documents, which could have proved police corruption.”

The Guardian of London also reported that the CPS was accused of suppressing police corruption evidence in what has been called a “misconduct of a particularly serious nature”.

The paper said: “The accusation has been made in the trial of two men charged with fabricating claims of corruption involving Metropolitan police officers. The trial collapsed last Thursday at Southwark crown court in London after senior lawyers at the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) decided to abandon the case. The CPS said new information has come to light, but did not elaborate. It did not comment ibt he allegation of serious misconduct.”

Mr. Gohil has been accused of perverting the course of justice by faking documents to make it look as though, the Metropolitan Police were taking bribes. Gohil, who had already pleaded guilty to a charge of money-laundering said he was trying to expose corruption in the police.

“ I was a whistle-blower and instead of investigating what I had uncovered and put forward, I was persecuted,” he said. In court, defence lawyers had alleged that there was “clear and compelling evidence” of police accepting bribes in return for “unlawfully providing sensitive information” to private detectives. It was also alleged that the police own investigation into the matter was “deliberately designed to find no evidence of corruption and that the prosecution service “deliberately withheld evidence.”

Prophet T.B. Joshua has released a list of bleak predictions for the New Year 2016.

He made the revelations via his Christian television network Emmanuel TV from an undisclosed location after cancelling his yearly ‘crossover service.

“There will be large scale scarcity, shortage of food,” he said.

“As a state, country, continent, we have to go back to the farm to arrest, to alleviate the forthcoming situation,” he emphasised in the ‘prophecy’ which was later posted on the ministry’s official Facebook page.

“I encourage the governments of all nations to invest in agriculture and to grant loans to deserving citizens to augment this effort,” he went on.

“Africa is supposed to be the breadbasket of the world. We are supposed to produce a large quantum of food for the world. This is our natural resource base. Food should be our primary export to other continents, food in exchange for technology,” he continued.

Moving on to the political scene, the cleric called on African leaders to “quickly arrest the political situation.”

He stated that the frequency of terrorist attacks in the continent would increase. “More African countries will be under siege by terrorists because of pros and cons in choosing leaders. Mishandling of electoral processes will create a conducive atmosphere for terrorists.”

Mr. Joshua said people will stop investing in politics because of “limited resources and challenges”, adding that this would pave the way for those with genuine intentions to run for political office.

“When you are genuinely called to do the job, you will do it because of your love for it and not because of money,” he stated.

“This year, do what you love. There’s money in love. Money in love brings peace and tranquillity,” he further admonished.

Mr. Joshua’s prediction closed with a prayer for Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari. “He has good intentions but a king’s intentions cannot be carried out properly without the support of the subjects. He needs your support to lead us out of the valley,” the cleric stated.

“The president will do everything to reject revaluation of the naira – which is a good idea from a good leader. But there will be overwhelming pressure which he will not be able to resist. Nigerians, support and pray for your leader. The future is crying for help,” he vividly described.

Despite the worrisome nature of his predictions, Mr. Joshua termed 2016 ‘The Year Of Reward’, stating that believers would be strengthened in the midst of their struggles.

“Start your year on your knees,” he advised, adding it was an ‘instruction from God’ for believers to begin and end their days in heartfelt prayer.

“What you were destined to become, this is the year to become it because this is the year of reward,” the cleric declared while on his knees in a location surrounded by trees and water.

“The voice of weeping, sorrow, setback and sickness shall be silenced, in the name of Jesus Christ,” he said.
