Buhari only inherited this scam but we can't squeeze the UK to drop the $9.6 bn judgement by charging mumu British citizens with some mumu money laundering crimes?
A US court awarded $6.6 billion judgement against Nigeria in 2013 to this phoney Irish company. Late Yaradua was president, our then AGF didn't even appear in court nor appealed the judgment.
The judgement was upheld again in 2017 by a UK court for the initial $6.6bn plus 7% penalty. Jonathan and his AGF Mohammed Adoke all failed to appear in court though the president accepted to pay a $850m out of court settlement which he didnt(P&ID said they invested $40 million in miscellaneous but claimed $850m in damages).
The matter goes for garnishment hearings, Buhari and Malami also disregard and fail to appear. Only when a second UK court now in 2019 orders seizure of Nigerian assets and that's when then we wake up.
How come a company sues the Nigerian government for $6.6bn and nobody goes to court to defend the country? I know Naija lawyers who would've defended this country pro bono(for free).
