One of the biggest problem we have in relationship is listening. As simple as it is but its caused a lot of damage.

There is a great difference between listening and hearing. Most times when couples discus and the woman is like are you listening to me? the man says be talking, am hearing.

The person in question is either watching television or pressing phone. You can't fully understand your partner well if you don't listen to her. What you probably heard may not be what she meant because her body movement or her eyes can communicate what her words can't express.

Since UI was closed down due to demonstration by students (Non Academic Students), everyday seems to be a Saturday.

For sometime now I have been having reading disorder, what I call #SLEEPREADING SYNDROME. After I discovered that not having a reading table and chair increased the effect of this disorder, I bought myself one.

One of those numerous Saturdays in the week which was actually a Friday, I sat on this my beautiful table trying to experiment. Still trying to go through what I noted down in class, he then worked in making a call.

I continued reading as though very serious, when he said something which I guessed was a question put across to him. I realised he was on call with a female friend of his which he confirmed.

What is your secret desire? That was the question. Such an innocent question but with a deep meaning. He answered but she was not satisfied. She now rephrased it ' What is your secret desire concerning me?'

What he answered is not my problem now. I would advise us, please don't say what you don't mean in order to make someone happy.

There is this stupid philosophy that most people have believed 'Anyone who doesn't lie to his partner has no respect for the person's feelings. That's a big lie. You don't need to lie to anyone to make them feel happy because when they find out the truth you would have lost your trust.

It hurts more when people find out that you have been lying to them. Be yourself and be plain, it may hurt a little then but you would have saved a future.

I don't mean you should be so blunt and inconsiderate but show a little diplomacy and maintain your integrity. Your integrity matters a lot and let people respect you for your honesty.

By the way, Is it wrong for a gal to tell a guy her feeling before the guy does? After all they said ladies first.

A leader of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State and former Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Col. Sam Inokoba (retd.), is dead. Their words, “We hereby issue a seven-day ultimatum to the state government to wade into this matter and reverse this ugly trend in the interest of equity, peace and justice.
