xanders: Known bug: memory low issue...
only for apps that need to install in phone memory, regardless you can still install your large Game files hitch free.

That being said....
lets understand that...
The critical advantage of this ROM is the shell root...which allows for full modding (i.e. modification) of the system files of your device!! albeit,at your own risk ; however; your life belt being your nandroid backup (see why this is so important)
hitherto...we couldnt successfully apply shell scripts(bits of android programing code), terminal command line mods and so on without getting a "silly-flag" here and a "permission-denied" there, for the newbies (average user) this isnt relevant , but on the other hand for Developers (Android Hackers) , this is a pain in headache.

so should I say, "out with the old and in with the new" ,

Running Mordern combat 4, PES 2012 and browsing, on N3...at the same time !

requirements:
1. GB RPM or other shell rooted CR (custom rom)installed android device
2. Root Explorer
3. Android terminal emulator

5. term-init.sh script download here http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390169635556426791
4. three partition SD card (fat32, ext2, and Linuxswap pref: 512mb+) *very important dont try without it you can brick your phone!
5. A little understanding of android scripting or want to try and wont mind bricking your phone

a. for GB users only: open swapper2 and turn of swap.
b. also for GB users: use link2sd to uninstall swapper2,
c. use link2sd or titanium backup to uninstall swapper, or any other swapping/memory boosting app you have installed
d. open "android terminal emulator" and enter the following code: (after entering each line of code press enter)


prelude:

install uni-init.d enabler

copy term-init.sh to sdcard root

run uni-init.d enabler

click verify init.d support, you should get a result saying you dont have init.d support

open android terminal emulator and enter the following script: (remember to press enter after each line and NOTE CAPITAL and small letters matter alot in Android scripting)
type: su
type: sh /sdcard/term-init.sh
#let the android run script

when done:
open terminal emulator and type :: reboot
you android should restart:

open terminal emulator and type :: reboot (again)
you android should restart:

open unit-init.d enabler and click verify: if all was done properly you should get a "success! you have init.d support"

now, to enble linux swap partition

open
1. type: su

2. type: fdisk -l dev/block/mmcblk0

3. type: swapon /dev/block/mmcblk0p3

3. then type: echo 100 > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness

B. open root explorer

click the "mount r/w" at the top right side of the screen

goto system/etc/init.d

create two files named "androidswap", and "fstab" (click: options, more, new file)

1. click on "androidswap", click text editor:
enter the following script:

swapon dev/block/mmcblk0p3
echo 100 > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness

save changes

2. click on "fstab", click text editor:
enter the following script:

lastly,


long click (hold down) androidswap, a menu will open
click permissions:
enter the following permissions:

owner: click (read, write, execute) i.e should have 3 ticks
group: click (read, execute) untick (write) i.e. should have 2 ticks
others: unclick (read, write, execute) i.e. should have no tick

So i'm thinking: hw about we make a reference post (preferably on d first post of dis thread) dat will contain links to various different tips, tricks, hacks, apps, games, solutions, etc as related to TECNO N3. step 4- extract contents of tools_needed folder and install 7zip

step 5- use 7zip to extract the 10 split sys.yaffs2.img file (this can be done by copying them to the same folder the right clicking and selecting 7zip, extract archive)

step 6- boot your N3 into fast boot mode (this is done easily by removing the battery, and while holding volume-down button on plug in your usb cable, then wait till you see the TECNO logo displayed on the screen, wait for 5 second then release the volume-down button)

step 7 FLASHING THE TECNO:

At juncture you need to stop every other thing youve been doing while you wer doing this and concerntrate!!!

now, run Android AIO flasher.exe (found in tools needed folder)
next, in the AIO flasher window, the very first menu is what concerns us i.e. where its written fastboot flasher (Nandroid Restorer)(the others we shall explain in later tutorials)
click boot
click Select file(browse to where you saved the boot.img you downloaded above)
click erase
click flash

YOU MUST wait for the black window below to show "writing boot...OK" before you know its done

Congratulations your almost done!!

Simply repeat the same process for the sys.yaffs2.img file, only this time, we go:
click System
click Select file(browse to where you saved the sys.yaffs2.img you downloaded above)
click erase
click flash

once again
YOU MUST wait for the black window below to show "writing sys.yaffs2.img OK" before you know its done.
it should take about 50 seconds, depending on your system specs.

Lastly, unplug the usb cable,
now, while holding "volume-up" plug it back
keep holding volume up till you enter the Android 3e stock recovery menu.
using volume up and down to move
select "wipe cache", PRESS power button to select
when this is finished
select "wipe data/factory reset"

when this is done restart your phone
these last two steps are important..else you may have boot-loop

well..guess thats pretty much it. regarding the memory boost..i will post that momentarily.

I've had jbed installed for months nw. Check earlier pages (1-50 i guess) as brainrex or holla posted it. Just make sure u enable r/w in d folder u ar 2 copy d lib file 2 using root explorer.

Here's general rules u could follow:
1. Put all files wit a .obb extention in /android/obb/
2. Com.xx.xx.xx folders usually go into /android/data/
3. Gameloft games usually go into d gameloft folder. Some gameloft games av d com.xx.xx.xx folder: put dem in data instead of gameloft.
Install associated apk and run. Keep dese in mind.

Also i got a 786.92mb .android_secure.vfat.tar file (dat can only be seen when i enable 2 see hidden files wit root explorer), is dat also important? Pls look into my concerns. Size of oder bkups ar:

Hi xanders. Doing a great job. A lil prob here: i downloaded and installed online nan bkup, updated d scripts and even got nandroid manager. But b4 starting bkup, i couldn't find d CWRM mode only clockworkmod (which i don't av) and TRWP (or sometin). Anyway after installing a particular mk.....img file (dat was missing), i went ahead wit d backup but it stopd 3 secs in, telling me dat a particular directory didn't exist. What do u say? Do i need clockworkmod or wat? Pls reply.
