berem: ga nodu ofu ebe! grin

Btw,how did you suddenyl increase the money from 71 billion to 211 billion? See how mischievious you are! Chai!
I updated it after an insider in the Imo government sent me this link, one of the PAs to a particular commissioner is my personal friend. He was even in my house in Awka last month for my child dedication:

"The Imo State Government has severally said that she has no loans taken since the inception if this administration. But during the budget presentation, for the 2013 budget, it became clear that Imo State government is heavily indebted.
The budget reveals that twenty two (22) billion naira loan was obtained by this administration in 2011, and sixty one (61) billion naira obtained in 2012. The government further seeks the approval of eighty one (81) billion naira loan for the coming 2013. These figures do not include the forty five (45) Billion naira loan obtained from Zenith Bank using the Local Government Area Allocations, as collateral.

If the State House of Assembly approves the budget, with the requested 81 billion naira loan for 2013, Imo would have taken a total of 211 Billion Naira loan in 2years of Rescue Mission administration."

I know this is Imo thread and I'm yet to see something worthwhile but I'm not exempting Peter Obi, not yet. If "some" of the pictures on the Anambra thread is what you call development, hmm, we're in serious trouble o. However, I still give Peter Obi the green light because he's been financially sensible. Though I'd expect him to borrow for aggressive development, for now, he's a thief but a small thief... grin grin grin
Well I understand your sarcasm. I know you as somebody who likes balancing his comments. I need to condemn evil. Obi is an achiever because he has done so much magic without borrowing a dime. I will open a thread on the statewide-Anambra to show you what the dude has done. He is a model, he has affected all sectors of the state, be it education, health, employment generation/attraction of FDIs, massive urban/rural road construction.etc

I want to see what is commensurate to the N211billion Rochas borrowed from the bank..simple!

spade: No problem, bros. Don't worry about date, as the pictures contain the camera's automatic time-stamp (that cute little orange writing at the edge of the image telling you the date and time).

So, when I've dropped them, we'll let viewers decide for real, whether it's comparing a governor on his second year in office, and his counterpart who's about rounding up his 8 years in office without any tangible GDP rise, unemployment decrease, Human Development Index improvement, literacy level rise or overall standard of living improvement in a state that gave him their votes.

Watch out for the thread, nwannem. Inugo? smiley

Daalu.
Hmmm

How do you measure GDP and HDI when you people are all running away from Imo state. Once they graduate from school, they take off. I know good number of Imo indigenes working today in Sabmiller in Onitsha The Onitsha Harbor Industrial hosts numerous industries and I know very well that there hundreds of people from imo state working there. As at today 1/3 of Imo state population are resident in Onitsha for their economic survival. How then do you measure GDP and HDI when nobody goes to Imo state either to live or do investment or business. cheesy

I welcome the thread you are about to open. It is for the progress of Alaigbo but make sure you are sincere about and post current pictures as we are doing here. Remember that we are discussing a gov that borrowed over 200Billion in two years but what we are seeing on the ground is just but dust, filth, underdevelopment, zero education infrastructure, zero health infrastructure. Well daluu for you input.

I have been challenging them to come with pictures, instead they are busy showing shabby Weatheral road that was built by Mbakwe 30years ago. The only thing Okorosha did with the 211 billion was for the painting and planting of grass on them.

Owerri better be looking 3x better than Dubai, and no offense, but honestly, I really want to know how this money was spent. This is called lootocracy.. While I still critic Peter Obi, I think I will give him an A+++ for financial prudence.
Next time you know better! When people talk about Obi, they forgot that he has not borrowed a dime in 8years and Anambra has remained the least indebted state in Nigeria. Upon all these Obi has performed magic in Anambra by affecting all sectors positively: health, education, employment generation/attraction of multinationals and local investors, massive urban/rural road construction. He did all these without hanging any loan on Anambra. Its something to put a gold medal on him.

But in the case of Imo state he has borrowed over 200 billion with nothing on the ground to show for the waste. What you see is poorly done hero park, painting of shabby roads built by former govs, all these did not cost more than 50million to put there.

Imo State has been voted the best state in
road construction in the South East, with the
state’s Joint Monitoring Committee
recommended as a model in the attainment
of quality roads through prudent
management.
In its mid-term assessment report released in
Enugu at the weekend, and made available to
Daily Independent, a global performance
group, South East Democracy Watch (SEDW),
described the processes of award of
contracts, monitoring and execution of roads
in Imo State as the best not only in the South
East, but the entire federation.
National Coordinator of SEDW, Emeka
Nnamani, who read the report, disclosed that
the 300 kilometres of asphalted roads in Imo
State were of the best quality, yet with
“competitive cost”.
“We were amazed that while other
governments were using between N40 million
and N60 million, to construct a kilometre of
asphalted road, Imo used only N21 million
and yet the quality is fantastic”, he
submitted.
He said their investigation showed that the
monitoring committee, headed by Stan Dara
of Imo State House of Assembly, was able to
save the people of the state N12 billion from
the exercise.
According to Nnamani, the activities of the
committee had shown that when officials are
diligent in the execution of their assigned
roles, contractors always complied with laid
down procedure.
Said he: “When we interviewed contractors,
they confirmed that the committee members
were always at their neck but that when once
a job has been fully completed, payment was
promptly made”.
He noted that the transparent manner the
Stan Dara committee handled the road
projects was responsible for the high quality
job and speed with which they were
executed.
He commended Gov. Rochas Okorocha for the
wisdom in setting up the committee, which
he said, has impacted positively on road
construction in the state.
Nnamani, who said his group would write to
other state governments in the South East to
adopt the Dara committee as a model, urged
the members to remain focused in their
service to the people of the state.
He also announced that Anambra came
second in the assessment, Enugu third,
Ebonyi fourth, while Abia came last.
He said his group has concluded its tour of
roads in the South East and called on the
Federal Government to expedite action in the
rehabilitation of federal roads in Igbo land.
“It is sad that almost all federal roads in the
region have remained a death trap. That of
Ohafia-Ututu-Arochukwu road, which was
abandoned in 1998 when Gen Abacha died, is
the worst.
“We appeal to them to do something about
these roads”, he said.
Nnamani said the next target of assessment
for the states would be wealth creation and
empowerment of youths.

Sentiments aside, Imo state is the worst state now in the SE. Nothing is working in the state, its indigenes are on the run to neighboring states due to poverty.

The state is being held on jugular by okorosha and his thugs and his over weight wife and daughters. As at last week we confirmed that 2/3rd population of Imo state has invaded Anambra cities particularly Onitsha and Nnewi which they have now seen as their greener pastures for their economic survival.

A trip to Awada or Fegge will convince you, they have taken over the place as an annex of Imo state. This is where the govt is working to provide good governance for its people and residents.

READ THIS AND SEE HOW BURDENED IMO STATE IS WITH LOANS:

The Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Allocation Commission [RMFAC] earlier this month raised alarm on the debt burden of some states in the Federation. The National Assembly has also raised the same alarm.
The Imo State Government has severally said that she has no loans taken since the inception if this administration.
If the State House of Assembly approves the budget, with the requested 81 billion naira loan for 2013, Imo would have taken a total of 211 Billion Naira loan in 2years of Rescue Mission administration.

This is a serious problem because it amounts to mortgaging the future of Imo Youths. When you add the allocation received by the administration during this period, you will start to wonder what Imo have to show for these enormous amounts of money.
We must all be cognizant of the fact that our primary source of income in Imo State Government still remains the revenue allocation from the Federation. As a matter of fact, Revenue allocation to Imo State contributes over 98% of Imo State’s income.
Revenue allocation on the other hand is totally dependent on the volatile world oil market. With new oil discoveries every day in other parts of the world, and the decision by the United States to exploit her oil reserves, the price of oil may eventually be on a permanent downward trend. What this means to Imo State is, may be, we may have put our state in a situation that she may not be able to get out from. To compound the problem, none of these monies had been used in income yielding projects and assets.
If there are no substantial increases in the allocation to Imo State, Imo may be unable to service these loans, while paying the salaries of its work force. Already we are bow experiencing the early stages of serious financial hardships. Employees of Imo State University Teaching Hospital claim that the last salary they received was the salary for the month of September. It is now almost the end of December, and most of the employees of the teaching hospital have yet to receive October salaries.
Furthermore, retired primary school teachers in the state are also claiming to have only received January and February pension checks. How do you expect a pensioner to survive without his or her pension check for almost 10 months of the year? The right to pension is a vested right and should not be tampered with.
As a well meaning Imo citizen, I appeal to the members of the House of Assembly to take a very serious and look close at the budget before passing it. An additional penny loan to the state’s debt profile may spell doom for Imo State and her people. A state that has less than 130 billion naira total income annually cannot survive with over 200 billion naira debt. Passing the budget with the inclusion of 81 billion naira loan approval to the executive will amount to giving the executive the choice of either servicing the loan and keep Imo State from defaulting or being able to pay salaries of employees. Knowing our governments, past experience tells me that the choice may be retrenchment.
Imo must be better, but Imo can only be better of we do not spend the future of our children today.
Imo can only remain better, if she is returned back to the hands of God.
