Ugwuoke347:

In the same Agbor you mentioned, there are tons and tons of people who strongly and resolutely identify as Igbos.
Do not be carried away by today's follies. All those areas will have no option than to fall in line when it becomes obvious that we are going home. They will definitely not accept to become a chronic minority in a post-partitioned Nigeria with those other people in the Niger Delta with whom they scarcely see eye to eye. And I imagine you know that while they foolishly suppress the fact of their being Igbos, those other peoples in the Niger Delta actually see them as Igbos and recognize them as such. I recall when Mr Asari Dokubo was shown on NTA in 2007 sharply opposing Mr Peter Odili's presidential ambition. According to him Mr Peter Odili could not be supported by the Ijaws in his presidential bid because he is Igbo and so does not represent the political interests of the Niger Delta. He said and I quote, "the Igbos cannot collect from South-East and also collect from the South-South."
Do not worry about all those confused people. Chibuike Amaechi and Peter Odili's people are only fooling themselves for now. They are only fooling around today because it is yet to become fixed that Biafra has got a UN mandate to define her territories through a referendum. There are tons and tons of reasonable people in Delta North who have always identified strongly with their Igbo identity. They are the Ralph Uwechues and Joe Achuzias of Delta North. Their Igbo solidarity far outweigh the follies of denials coming from those misguided brothers there.
We are on the move. We are going to make ourselves by ourselves. All those false narratives must be demolished completely. The right things must be done. We must be sober and completely desensitized to unprofitable emotions which may wish to have us leave the deserters behind. Intense efforts shall be made to engage them diplomatically and get them convinced to freely come on board. The Germany you made reference to was not always a country it was a collection of completely independent kingdoms and nation states with only language and the Germanic ethnicity as the prime mutual factor among them. Prussia, Bavaria, Saxony, Wittenberg and others were all on their own and even competing fiercely against one another until a man rose and became their moderator. Otto Eduard Von Bismarck unified all those warring brother Germanic kingdoms and welded them harmoniously into what we know today as Germany.
In our own case we are neither at loggerheads not at dagger's drawn with our Igbo brothers in the Niger Delta. We will appeal strongly to their moral conscience and sense of purpose for their future descendants. They will be made to understand that it is a new society that we seek to build; a free and secure society that will guarantee a great future for them and those descending from their loins.
am enjoying una discussions...

Keep it up

Anambra state vigilante services have been killing Ipob's unknown gunmen unit for some time now. That's why their activities have reduced significantly in the state. gidgiddy:
Nigeria is the 8th most terrorised and violent country in the world for a reason, its a country built on injustice

Where there is injustice, there is never peace

These people talk about 'UGM', Boko Haram, ISWAP and other armed bandits, but rarely will they talk about what is fueling tye violence, or how to bring down violence to the barest minimum

I remember 2015 to 2020 when IPOB was peacefully protesting for Biafra. What did the authorities do? They shot and killed innocent peaceful Biafran protesters, locked them up, tortured them and subjected them to degrading acts

Right here on Nairaland, many people urged the Nigerian security forces to carry on with this human rights abuse, abuse of power and injustice. All they cared about was protecting their useless 'one Nigeria' and anyone who dared to question that unholy union should be shot down and killed

Even former President Buhari declared operation python dance in 2017 and sent Soldiers after IPOB, a group that at the time didnt even have common catapult and had no record of touching anyone. Soldiers stormed Nnamdi Kanu's house, and when he escaped, they said he jumped bail. Soldiers rampaged all over the South East, a very peaceful area with no armed group, killing people in the name of chasing Biafran agitators . Thet even went the extra mile of declaring IPOB, a peaceful unarmed group at the time to touched nobody, as terrorists

Well the peaceful protests have finally ended and have now been replaced by armed groups and violence. The government of Nigeria single handedly brought violence to the South East and caused all the problems there in their reckless bid to crush all voice of dissent

It is only in Nigeria that people expect peace to come from a mountain of injustice

Those who make peaceful agitation impossible, will make violent agitation inevitable ~ JFK
ur very correct

I remember wen we warned them that wat the soldiers are doing will lead to this present situation but they continued to cheer the soldiers on then..

For their zombie eyes, soldiers can kill the citizens illegally but the citizens cant defend themselves

is that so?
yes even the so called UGM said so here :

Many of these murders were chilling. After beheading a newly-wed couple, both officers of the Nigerian Army, in May 2022, the gunmen called to mock their relatives. Last December, another soldier was abducted and tortured by people who identified themselves as unknown gunmen. “What we are after is Biafra. We have nothing to do with IPOB. Say bye-bye to your fellow soldiers,” they said in a video statement.

It is important to note that Aug. 2021, when DOS accounts stopped expressing support for the Unknown Gunmen, was the same time the faction announced that it was suspending the Monday sit-at-home order, which it previously imposed to protest the detention of IPOB founder Nnamdi Kanu. Shortly afterwards, the same faction declared that anyone still enforcing the curfew was an enemy. Later, it would outrightly blame Autopilot for disturbing the peace in the region.

IPOB here distances itself from UGM
