justi4jesu: @slemdogg don't even release any penny for any job else you would be blamed for it. Even here in dubai, I went for an interview this morning at Emrill here in dubai and I was given my offer letter for the job. And I heard several complains from people that paid close to 1,000 dirhams just for the agent to bring dem to the interview and promising them that he knows the Manager of the company that their job is guaranteed. Please any job that requests for money just know its a scam. That's it.
where you applying online or you just show up at the offices asking for job ? Im thinking of coming down in the summer... cheers.

scarred: I wonder why this thread isn't generating the conversation it should. Is it because the forummers here discount the use of black-ops or false flag programs to initiate regime change or the distabilization of a region. The truth engendered by this discussion has become even more apparent now that 'Boko Haram' is claiming responsibility for kidnappings in Cameroon. All of a sudden Boko Haram has now become a regional player. It begs the question, where are they getting their funding from and more importantly, why are they now operating in Cameroon.
Excatly follow the money. They the west wants to destablize Naija and enter. They need an excuse aka Boko Haram.

manny4life: Say what? $9.50/gallon? angry angry angry

Like CFC rightly pointed, unless they want civil disobedience, make them no try am o for here o..

It kills me more because my suv vehicle gets about 13mpg, and I work in DC which is about 13miles, so imagine, it literally last me for about a week and 2days... then I refuel again.

Paying extra $.60/gallon is pissing me off, and I swear for them all the time (no bad swear o...lol), then it's $9.50, I go kill pesin be that. I will just kuku come back to Nigeria and fasten my hustle..
The motoring organisation revealed the average cost of petrol in the UK is now 138.32p a litre, with diesel having risen 4.78p from its mid-January price to an average of 145.10p.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2013/feb/22/petrol-price-surge-weak-pund-wholesale-prices
1 gallon = 4.5 litre
1 pound = 1.5 dollar

multiply and get $9.50/gallon?

lmao daylight robbery.
PoliticsRe: External Reserves Hit $47bn by bethnals: 10:09am On Feb 26, 2013
CFCfan: Exactly. Most of the US federal tax income goes into repaying loans to the Federal Reserve. The US Federal Reserve is a PRIVATE bank that prints/loans out the dollar to the US govt. Therefore, the tax revenue forms the interest payments to the Federal Reserve.

On d proliferation of laws, New York City has enacted a law to regulate the quantity of soft drinks to be consumed at a fast-food restaurant! Can stupidity go any further than that?
That Mayor Bloomberg is something else. Here in the UK they want to intorduce a tax on soft drinks because people are getting to fat. Can you imagine?

And yeah the banks run everything, people dont know the likes of JP Morgan has almost 30% of all shares in BP oil company. LOL.

PoliticsRe: External Reserves Hit $47bn by bethnals: 9:50am On Feb 26, 2013
CFCfan: $9.50 a gallon can NEVER happen here in the US. Unless the oil traders want the people to embark on massive civil disobedience.
Thats why I said Europe is finished, its always been a slave society with the elites at the top. Thats why thousands of Europeans ran to America for relative freedom. But now slowly US is becoming like UK with tax tax, rules rules e.g. New York is now offically like London.

And most of that price is tax, but nobody knows where that tax money goes to. Zero accountabilty.

suxes2005: If you're thinking of working in UAE the best bet like someone
said here is to go there with the tourist visa and get a good
job within 2 weeks.
You still have to come home before your 2
years work permit can be processed (depends on the company though).
You sure its that easy? Just fly over and within 2 weeks you will find something?

Are you talking about those professionals with experience or what? I was thinking of flying over from UK for a month or so after I finish one course......

Biafra rep: The holy book made us to understand that people perish because of lack of knowledge, many diaspora Nigerians are really suffering, though majority of them would not admit it for obvious reasons but the truth is that they are passing through very difficult times, many of them are frustrated and is such a pity that they do inhuman and demeaning jobs which the whites would not touch just for them to make ends meet. Some of our country men and women, took up jobs at the morgue so they could be washing cadaver! Others work at the old people's home were they attend to old and sick people, generally part of their job include cleaning urine and feaces! The irony of it is that the more nauseating and disgusting the work, the higher the cents! Because of shame or fear of being called failures by the folks they left behind in Nigeria, they would rather die there than come back empty handed. The global economic meltdown really dealt a devastating blow on Europe, though USA,Canada and Australia are recovering albeit at a snail pace but Europe is finished economic wise, Greece has collapsed, Portugal is in crises. UK, France and Spain is facing unprecedented unemployment problem. People and corporations with foresight are moving towards developing countries like China, India, Nigeria etc so they could tap into their high ROI and many virgin areas that have not been exploited. Many uninformed diaspora Nigerians do not know that Nigeria has one of the highest ROI in the world. With average capital, foresight and resilient attitude, one could easily become rich in Nigeria but in Europe, if you are poor, you are likely to remain poor till you die because everything has been structured to favour the capitalists. My advise to my country men abroad, save as much money as you could, think of ideas that would sell in Nigeria and invest!
agreed especially to the younger generation with no kids under 35.

More than 1,700 people apply for just EIGHT jobs at Costa Coffee shop

More than 1,700 people applied for eight jobs at a new coffee shop, in an indication of how tough the jobs market remains.

Coffee shop chain Costa said it received 1,701 applications for the posts at their new branch in Mapperley, Nottingham, after advertising in early December.

It comes ahead of new unemployment figures published by the Office for National Statistics tomorrow.

A spokeswoman for Costa said the firm was shocked at the response for the three full-time and five part-time posts at the shop, which is due to open on Woodborough Road on Friday.

She said applicants for the posts, with wages between £6.10 and £10 an hour, ranged from new graduates to former managers who were clearly overqualified for the positions.

dbride: 99.9% of nigerians living in the UK are suffering and smiling, period. They are coming back because they have reached their wits end, their backs on the wall economically. Besides, there is absolutely no life there. Nigeria is bad, yet these whites who attain their retirement in 9ja, secure another job just to stay back in 9ja! I have travelled far and wide, home is home in spite of all her shortcomings.
I am a Nigerian and God does not make mistakes!!!
lol not 99.9% but the majority are not balling at all lol. The oyinbo themselves know UK is not the place as theres literally know life. Excpet work come home sleep. Those that are able to holiday often may not be as affevted however theres many nigerians that cant afford luxury off £700 return ticket to Naija every 3 months cheesy

Meddler: Is it just me or I see more British born Nigerians moving back to Nigeria vs. US born Nigerians.

The US is more tolerable and more conducive environment to leave in. I don't think you could ever pay me enough to leave in UK.
The taxes are moderate in the State compared with the UK and although there is no universal health plan, work in a decent environment and you get a good health plan.

Just my two cents
yes i think certainlly USA is 'freerer' than UK and has always been. if you check history you will see why many people left UK to hustle and come to USA where there was freedom from taxes etc and laws. Thats some of the reason they sought indpedence from King George!

However some places in USA is becoming like UK fast e.g. New York city with law after law tax after tax. Theres people there hustling on $7 an hour, full blooded americans when rent is like $700 a month!

UK = to much rules, to much procedure, to much tax, poor food, no culture, no sense of belonging etc

Humans are not meant to be living such a 'restricted' life so no matter how much money you make the place will always feel souless and feel like you own nothing at the end of your working life.

Better go back to Naija even if it means starting with a small shop selling fruit. Not so easy for the older guys with kids but if you are young, single and have a 'base' (somewhere to Stay/family) then Naija = endless possibilities. 10X better than working some shitty job for peanuts where over half your salary goes on rent.

Krucifax: What we are not getting is a sense of fulfillment in the U.K. There is always that thing at the back of your head that you can ever only be so much in the U.K.

It's a paradox because statistically (per job numbers) a recession time U.K is still 100 times better than Nigeria with regards to employment. However there is a catch(type of employment). Most of us here have qualifications and certificates piled to the eyeball but any black person will tell you it's still no guaranty of status. I for one have two degrees the second being an MBA but i'm not sure i can rise to become CEO of Barclays,British Gas,or whatever! It's just the way things are in this society very hierarchical and class driven with race playing no small part in it.

Nigeria although worse in many ways i guess offers that opportunity to achieve that dream(albeit a scaled down version) especially for the entrepreneurial minded individual. I for one am alright and my take home pay after tax statistically puts me in the so-called "better of" list but there is no day that passes without me thinking of how to find my way back to Nigeria. I don't know if it's the weather,or robotic monotony of everything but the U.K sometimes feels like a soulless place.

PoliticsJona V Buhari 2015 = Serious Serious Civil Unrest by bethnals(op): 1:20pm On Feb 18, 2013
Buhari is the only one (or best chance) that can defeat PDP come 2015 this guy has guaranteed 12 million votes with zero campaign in North.

1) If Jona contest against Buhari and there is any rigging this will set Naija on fire no politician especially in North is safe
2) I don’t see how Jona/PDP will not rig election that is the only way they can beat Buhari come 2015

Only way I see a 2015 with no serious unrest is either one of Buhari/Jonathan is not running. If they are both running o’boy……
