easy4beno: I'm watching closely how people here have turned this solder into a laughing stock and little minds would think its the best thing to do to him, for crying out loud this is death we are talking about, fine he did what is not right and he's getting the supposed result of his action, but come to think of it, nobody has raised or talked about the reason for him disobeying orders. Ofcos its no news today that boko haram is well equipped much more than our soldiers, with that single point alone is enough to kill the morale of a soldier even before going to the battle front.
Also, Whoever is saying "who send am make e go join army"- I would like you to know that if its not for the bravery of these set of people there won't be a country called Nigeria where most of us wants a white collar job where we want to go to office in the morning and come back in the evening because a nation's defense lies in the strength of the Army.
In my own judgment I understand that the soldiers deserve what they got but I think they could have been given a very severe punishment for their offense instead of killing them like fowls. Nigerians should stop acting like hypocrites, its no news to everyone that these men do not have the necessary toys(weapons) to fight boko haram and the government is doing little or nothing about it, if we keep thinking like this, this country would only get worse..
I hope people can decipher the analysis from my point and I'm open to more suggestion and corrections..thank you! this country needs a revolution against corruption. kill them, and you will face a more dangerous disease than ebola |

bugs1: The National Council on Privatisation (NCP) on Thursday approved the sale of the liquidated Nigeria Telecommunication Plc. and its subsidiary, Mtel, to NATCOM Consortium for $252million.
The Chairman of NCP’s Technical Committee, Mr Atedo Peterside, told State House correspondents in Abuja that the approval was one of the decisions taken at a meeting of the council presided over by Vice-President Namadi Sambo.
According to Vice-President Namadi Sambo, the ratification of the sale by the NCP marks the end of the entire bidding process and what is now left is to conclude the necessary documentation.
He noted that the NITEL/Mtel transaction was different from what happened with sale of power plants because Nitel was not ongoing concern, but a liquidated one and no longer in business.
“In view of this, the liquidator will through the court pay some verified claims of creditors of NITEL/Mtel, which, therefore, sidesteps the issue of third party creditors.
“But it does not preclude the government from settling any obligations it feels like,“ he further explained.

se.xkilza.phull: So after all these complaints, what are you gonna do? Is there any magic that will improve the lot of Abia when another PDP governor obviously supported by Orji, perhaps a current member of his cabinet becomes the next governor? Well, if you people want your lot to be different, vote for progressive leadership like ACN (now APC) gave the SW. It is not by force but please do not complain to us about high taxes not being used to do much if you vote for the usual PDP thieves! u r trying to say ACN, CPC controlled states dont pay as much levies? pls give example. |

vivalavida: Abia state is lenient then. I was the manager of a fast food coy in calabar from aug last yr till mid june this yr when i quit. The rate @ which cross river state levy buisnesses there is much. There isn't much happening in that state and they lack sources of IGR there. The only booming sector there is tourism hence multiple taxation. The oil wells they had were ceded to akwaibom state govt by the supreme court. Most times different set of people come to the office to submit the same levy with different amount stated there-in. Let me give u a list of the few i can remember now 1) every month,we set aside #30,000 to pay for TDL which means tourism development levy 2) health levy = #35,000 3) environmental = #15,000 4) buisness development levy - #20,000 5)liquor licence = #3,000 6) CRISSA meaning cross river state sign board and signage agency - #100,000 7) fire service = 10,000
buisness operational permit = #15,000 9) sanitation fee = #10,000. This ones are ffrom the state govt. You still have the ones brought from calabar municipal council i.e the LGA council in main cally. Some of these bills are a bit negotiable but dont expect much.
Before i left,Nepa went on a revenue drive and cut the light of all big organisation using what they call MD meter. Accused them all of tampering with their meters and gave us what they called bill of loss of revenue = #150,000, reconnection fee of #10,000 and you still have your nepa bill to pay oo Buisnesses are moving out of calabar. O boy. I hereby withdraw my complain. A friend of mine is planning to run away from Abia because of the levies. hope he doesnt run to calabar. |
