The reason why Argentina hasn't won an international trophy is because Messi hasn't scored or made any assist in the final so they are both even.

In the 2014 world cup Messi led his team to the finals providing most of the assists, scoring 4 times, in Copa America 2015 he led his team to the finals with scoring most of the goals and providing more and same with the Copa America 2016.
