Congratulations to all March mamas dropping it hot hot, may your LOs be a source of joy and happiness to you all. To the remaining of us, may we all give birth smooth and safely at our appointed times.

Please mamas, help me out. I just changed to a new hospital and before then I was given Fansider on the 17th of February, so in my new hospital, I went for my ANC (ist time in the hospital) on the 11th of March and was prescribed another one. I told the doctor that I've taken fansider in my former hospital and he removed the drug. Now my question is how many times is this drug given in the course of pregnancy and how many months interval should it be administered?

Second question, I have taken two doses of TT in my former hospital and the doctor in d new hospital prescribed another one. I told him I have taken twice and he still didn't remove it, saying that I will need to bring evidence that I have taken before as I have said...(Me in my mind, Oga doctor! Will I be lying abi is it not for my own good undecided undecided, okay o). So I collected the TT and instead of me to take it to the treatment room where it will be administered, I waka go meet matron and explain to her. She told me after the second dose that I took, the next dose should be administered after 6months... when I go don give birth sef. So I was confused, I just kept the injection in my bag and left. Abeg what do you all have to say to this? I'm a FTM and team June. Help me out please!

NB: Biko sorry for the long post.
Pls don't take that particular TT injection that you threw in your bag cos my Dr once told me that TT is stored at a particular temp to retain it's usefulness.

Mamas in the house una good afternoon,

There is something I want you people to help me clarify o..
Normally dettol is what I use at home but my hospital list it's Savlon(I have never used it before) they put on the list. So I just bought two savlon that I will take one to hospital and use one at home if my dettol finished.
This morning I decided to use the Savlon and when I pour it inside water it didn't bring that milkish abi na whitish color that dettol do give. It just mixed with the water.

Those that have use Savlon before is this normal?
Make una no vez o.. I can't afford to use fake something to wash my jajaina biko
Lolzzzz, it's normal. I think they advice moms not to go for detail cos its harsher than savlon. Salvon is mild and it's Johnson's product. Hope this helps.

BS! BS! BS!

After the death of my son, I wanted to just get pregnant immediately to fill the void I felt. Lolz, but pregnancy was far from me, lolzz. I asked my baby why he couldn't get me pregnant now that I wanted to really get pregnant, lolzz. It wasn't funny, I was wonderfully depressed that I decided to tone my skin for the first time in my life and I ended up being bleached (I asked myself why I couldn't get anything right even skin toning, lolzzz). My baby said there was no need switching on any of our bulbs when darkness comes cos my legs could light up our home perfectly. It was that bad, lolzz. I prayed and prayed, every one told me to relax but relaxation was far from me, lolzz. I kept on thinking "what if I'm only destined to have two children? ". Bee joined me in praying to get pregnant and finally I got pregnant that month. 3 days after I missed my period, Bee told me that there was a baby in my stomach, she is a girl and her name is XYZ. OK, I did home pt, it was positive, I was sooo happy. I got my prenatal drugs and life went on. I calculated my EDD using Flo App and I was told I was to give birth on Jan 21st, same day I lost my son, I said God forbid, I won't give birth in Jan even. Well, forward we go. I had no tiredness, no nothing, just normal. Around week 9, I started craving nkwobi soo bad I was seeing myself almost eating it in my dream. Ahhh, mogbe, I sha held myself tight, one day I couldn't hold myself again and I bought from a woman close to my home that doesn't use akanwu. I ate my thing and took a very chilled can of malt, this is life mehn. I saw myself going back to the woman's shop until I was 16weeks and 2days old by my calculation. I got back home from work, I needed to get vitamin C for us cos we had exhausted the one we had, that was in August last year. I was walking down to where I was to get it when I started feeling pains all over my body, I couldn't bear it, my whole waist/pelvic area was on fire. I called my baby to complain and he said I should go home and rest that he would get the vit while coming back. I got home, took my bath and just went straight to bed. By morning I was still feeling the pain, my baby took me straight to the hospital. After describing my ordeal to my Dr, he told me that he was suspecting something but I should go for scan for him to confirm. My sisters, naso I run dey go scan oo. I laid down and the sonographer started. Mrs. O, when did you miss your period? He asked. I told him. Hmm, I know you are exposed he said, so I believe you should know when you saw your menstrual flow last. Yes, I do. Well going by your words and what I'm seeing, you don't know when you missed your period. Haba, Mr, if you want to insult me start with shut up so I will know what you are up to. We drag am ooo. You are currently 12weeks and 2days. OK, when is my EDD? He says Feb. Feb what? And he says 14th. I was already rejoicing that I didn't have that 21st Jan in my record when I remembered what Feb 14th was and what Bee said was inside my "stomach", say wha??
Another prayer point started ooo, lolzzz. Well, nwunye O, you are contracting and your cervix is already short 3mm, you go straight up to the Dr's office, we will send the result to Dr. C. Hmm. OK ooo. I went up and Dr told me I was to be placed on bed rest until morning that they needed to perform cerclage for me cos my cervix might not be able to hold my foetus when she starts to add weight and cerclage is best performed in the morning and also they needed to stop the contractions. Ohh God, not again. OK oo, how much is the procedure? My eyeballs came out and entered back inside at his answer. O churchi. My baby said oya to do whatever needed to be done. Ngwanu, where is my bed fa, make I start sleep. By 5:30am next morning, I was wheeled into the theater and a general anesthesia was administered and off I went to ulala land. Next day I was discharged and I stayed off work for 2weeks amidst cramps after which life continued. No other challenge, no sickness, no nothing. My Dr at a point said if every pregnant woman has the clean health bill that I had that he would run out of business. Kai, this my story don too long ooo and I haven't even started.
OK moving on. Around week 27, I went to pick my son from school and on our way back we met a mad woman, lolzz. She asked me to come, I ran away ooo with my bigi belle and my son, lolzz. An elderly woman told me to go and answer her, I said haa, answer who. Well, I picked up courage and I went back, she told me that she was calling me and I didn't wanto answer her that didn't I know that she loved me. Then she asked me to show her my palms, I did, she started writing all sorts on my palm. O God who I offend? Passerby were just staring at us, kai. After writing she told me not to erase it until I get home, OK ma. Then she said none of your children will die again, anybody that wants to kill my child will have to pass through her first. I told her Amin! I was about going when she told me "don't let anyone know when labour starts". I said OK ma and I left. Life still continued. I went to drop my son at school about one month later and I met same woman, she asked me to give her a pen, see me rushing to drop my son and go off to work. No, she didnt know me and she isn't my family member. Well, I searched my bag, saw a pen and gave her. She still told me that she has told me that none of my children will die again and also I shouldn't tell anyone when labour starts, I told her OK ma.

Meanwhile my prayer point right from day 1 has always been "I labour not for long, I give birth with ease and before the world will know, I have gone in and come out".

I was going for scans regularly to be sure all was well inside and Lo refused to show herself. I was also going for my prenatal visits regularly. The only challenge I had was leg swelling which I believe was as a result of my daily intake of pregnacare, the moment I stopped taking it regularly, leg swelling disappeared.

20th Jan, I went for my normal visit with my Dr and he told me that I should prepare to have the cerclage removed by 27th, I asked him how soon I would fall into labour after the procedure and he said some people even give birth on that same day. God forbid I said, not me. On 27th I got to the hospital by 6am, was taken to the theatre and prepared, general anesthesia was administered and the cerclage was removed. I was taken to a room to just rest and get myself back after which my baby took me home. I was feeling contraction signs and for my mind I think say e don dey happen, for where. That same night I started my 2hours long walk. I was having on and off contractions. Hmm, everyday after I come back from walk, I will prepare Bee for bed, wait for my baby to come back and we will start our walk. The days he decides that he is tired (ole), I goon my own while he follows me around with the car, lolzzz. Everybody along that route got to know me and they were all giving me advises to stop the walks as it was too early, lolzzz. My stomach was high, didn't point down (I hope I haven't confused you), so people didn't know I was close to term.

I took dates, pineapple core, sobo, danceddd and yet nothing. It wasn't funny. I stopped kpekus-ing since (package wey this baby carry come) so that was a no go area. I had my Dr number on redial almost every hour, the man tire for me. I chatted mommy Zaynie up, asked her what to do so labour could start, she said to just continue with what I was doing. O God, it was becoming depressing. At a point I got tired of the long walk but mehn, I had a target. I couldn't stop.

On 10th of Feb, I went for my visit and after checking me, my Dr said baby was in oblique position. Hian, I did scan before the cerclage removal and baby was in cephalic position so which one come oblique now? He asked me to sleep only on my left hand side to encourage my foetus to move and engage so that labour could start. My sisters I say I sleep only on my left hand side, I didn't turn. Heee Chineke, it was funny. I took all the pillows in my home for myself.

On 14th Feb which was my EDD, I went to work, came back, no show even though I prayed not to have my baby that day I was depressed cos I was tired of pushing my truck and I read that it's harder to achieve a VBAC after passing one's EDD. That night I just said let me use torch and mirror and look down there to see how area dey naso I see blood. Haa, my baby shaved me the previous night, did he injure me without my knowing I asked myself. I stood up and drops of liquid mixed with blood follow me. OK ooo, I wore a panty liner, dressed up and went out for my walk. My baby called to know if I had left the house I told him to wait for me at a particular junction. I got there, saw him and we went off, I didn't tell him what I saw come out of my jajaina. We got home, bathed, prayed ate our Valentine take out and we slept.

15th Feb being Sat, I made sobo, took money and popsy's portion to their home, mommy say me and said "Oberem, I don't like the shape of this your stomach. You should follow me to trado people let them turn this baby, it is not positioned properly", I rejected it there and then.I dropped what I brought for them and went to greet other people at home. On my way back the devil wanted to make me think of what she said cos truly it was now like my baby was hanging on top, like she was lying across cos. On my way home I started feeling mild off and on contractions, I didn't take it seriously cos it was even milder than Braxton Hicks. I made soup and stew, cleaned up my home. By evening, the contractions intensified but it wasn't still serious. I dressed up for my nightly waka, as I got to my junction, the thing hook me, I say ahh, e be like say na the real thing ooo, I was still leaking fluid and tiny drops of blood. People already know that I go out and stay long so going back home then was going to alert them, I entered a supermarket owned by a friend of mine, I told her to give me bucket, I sha bought plenty beautiful nonsense that I didn't need just to make upto 1k, I did transfer for her and I carried myself back amidst contractions. Once e hook me I will look for something to just busy myself, the moment it stops I walk as fast as I could People were asking me why I was coming back so early, I told them I needed to go drop this bucket cos I couldn't walk with it all the way. That was by past 8pm, I usually come back by past 10pm.

I got home, timed the contraction, it was 5mins apart and lasting about 1min 15seconds, I called my Dr and I told him, he asked me to come in, I told him that I didn't want to stay long in the hospital, the man told me Ineeded to come so as to be monitored, VBAC and all. I called my baby and he said he was just on the other street coming in, kai, oya now, dey come. I rushed and took my bath, wore my nightie. He came in, saw I had taken my bath and he started ranting, Oga, this one wey you dey talk nobi wetin dey do me oo. I told him I needed to eat chicken Suya from one of our customers that stays at a far distance from where we live. Haaa, Nne, I can't go to that place by now na, night don reach na. Naso I start cry ooo, your wife is pregnant, do you know what craving is? Have you craved for something before? Nne, it's possible that by the time I get there, those people go don close oo, e, close kini? I want to eat chicken Suya, naso I start sing am, the contractions sef help to modulate my tone. Lolzzzz. OK, OK, OK, I'm going. Immediately he left I ran to my son's room. Already I had packed my hospital bag and kept in plain sight, then I packed just a sleepsuit, bodysuit, mitten, disposable pant, flannel and cap which I hid in my son's wardrobe. I went in there took it and flew out. I was running like there was fire on my bombom and resting amidst contractions. I stopped a cab, jumped in and told him to take me to the hospital. The nurses on duty already knew I was coming so it was my charts and all were ready for the Dr. Oya now, Mrs. O let's go in and check you. Na there wahala dey. This babe here doesn't like foreign things entering her jajaina. Mrs. O spread ya legs now let's check you. I was busy shaking. Dr called and asked how many cm I was and she told him that I haven't allowed her check me yet. Dr told her that naso she dey ooo. Finally she inserted her hand and told me she needed to burst my amniotic sac cos it was blocking her abi wetin, she burst am, said my baby already pooped in my stomach and she brought out her hand and showed me, haaa. She then called Dr and told him she had burst the sad and that I was 5cm gone. I was told to start moving around, for where. When the next contraction started, na then I know say labour don start. OMG, I was throwing my legs up and down without caring, my cloth was bunched up to my waist, I didn't care. My Dr said lekwanu ihe Mr. E kwuru ugwu ya oo (see what Mr. E paid for ooo). Meanwhile my husband was back, didn't find me and was calling. I told my Dr not to tell anyone that I was in the hospital while I kept on praying to give birth sharp sharp. They kept on encouraging me not to push c so I was breathing like a dog once contractions start and that really helped. Dr checked by himself after plenty "spread ya legs Mrs. O", and said in the next 30min to 1hour I should be ready to push. Say wha All this pain I'm feeling and you are telling me 30mins? At the next contraction I told my Dr that I needed to poop, Mrs. O don't push, I told him that it was my baby that was pushing me. He checked and I was fully dilated, oxytocin was administered and immediately I felt the need to push, I pushed and I felt my baby's head come out. Dr said they needed to guide her shoulders out so that kini ko kini ko. He asked me to open leg but you know my ish with spreading legs for foreign beings. He called his nurses to come help him hold my leg, they were still trying to do that when we all heard kpom, my fair rainbow 3.5kg princess jumped put on her own without me pushing at exactly 11:49pm looking like her papa. Dr shouted blood of Jesus and caught her. She sprayed everybody both water and blood at her entrance. I was given general anesthesia and the little tear she gave me was stitched while my Dr checked to be sure I didn't have any injury from previous CS. Everything was in order and I was wheeled to my room. I got to the hospital by 10:18pm and gave birth by 11:49pm. My Dr called my baby and popsy to tell them that I had delivered and my baby couldn't believe it. Lolzzz, they all came to the hospital that night to see me. My baby is angry that I denied him the joy if watching his Ada Ezi make her entrance but he just has to chill. No, I don't think you or your family members will harm me but if I had told him, he would have told momsy and money would have called all her pastors to pray for me and walls have ears. I was willing to take that chance. On my way to the hospital that night, I talked to my own mom on the phone and I didn't tell her I was in labour, so you see? I have already been displaced. My picture is no longer his wallpaper, his Ada Ezi has that honour now but no qualms. Bee saw his sister and said "you are soo cute". I give God all the glory cos He truly showed me His faithfulness from start to finish. I thank you mamas for making my stay worthwhile. May we all deliver safely at our own time. Amen. Please, stay away from nkwobi while pregnant, it's not good for you. Peace.

BA/BS #TeamMarch

As at my last appointment on Wednesday 26th Feb, I was scheduled to remove the cerclage on Tuesday 3rd March.

On Saturday morning, I woke up noticing that I had started losing my mucus plug so I got mildly excited that it was happening. I made vegetable soup and okro soup for the house, even unripe plantain porridge for myself lol.

Pre-labour contractions began on/off at about 2pm, and at 9pm we arrived at the hospital.....at least so they can remove the cerclage.

About 9.30pm, I was quickly moved into the theatre room and they started looking for cerclage but no way...it had grown into my skin and was not easily seen. So the doc decided to wait for labour to progress so she can push it downwards with labour pressure.

I was moved back to my room to continue labour. Contractions came back to back and I asked for epidural but the Specialist was not around and will not be coming in till the morning.

I was in A LOT of pain. I laid down, stood up, went to the restroom, vomited my breakfast lol. All these...they didn't want to keep checking how far gone so they don't trigger anything.

However, a few mins to 2am when they could see the amount of pain I was in, they checked and I was at 8cm. They quickly moved me back to the theatre to remove the cerclage.

That's when the main labour kicked off! No pain med oooooo....just a drip to keep me hydrated!
I was shouting, sweating, getting tired. The doc had removed the cerclage at this point and just encouraged me to push whenever the contractions came.

It felt like a looooooong time of pushing but at about 2.15am, she came through by Gods grace.

They put her on my chest for me to see while the doc continued with the removal of placenta and his suture of the mild cut he had given me, still with no meds! Another episode of bare screaming.

Baby has been sleeping a lot. Apart from the suture pain, I'm fine by Gods grace and I give glory to God for the entire episode.

Best wishes to all the Mums incoming, may it be far easier for you. Amen

BS submitted for 1st March, 2020.

Mamas in the house pls help o. I've been suffering from heart burn since 2 days now. I've never experienced this before.
Pele, eat food in small portions, try not to eat late if it occurs at night. Take lots of water, antacid and avoid lying down immediately or almost immediately grin after eating. Oily food encourages heartburn too.
Vigilante is sweet grin grin cry cry.

BA/BS
Started taking short walks of about 40mins and zobo drink when i clocked 39weeks. But all I got was pelvic pain, no show or contractions.
A day to my edd I decided to double my walking distance. Still nothing, only had severe body pains. Edd came and passed
On the 22nd night I ate a whole pineapple, later woke up around 5am feeling nauseous and vomited. When I was getting ready for church, I vomited again.
Came back from church hoping for a miracle to deliver that same day, but God had better plans for me.
On the 24th I went to pee, wiped and I saw show. Few minutes later I started having slight contractions. Went for my usual evening walk that evening and contractions became more painful averaging about 10mins apart.
Managed the pain through the night. It became more painful and regular, say 5mins apart in the morning.
On our way to the Hosp I'll scream at DH to park so I can rest as the road is bumpy and at the same time tell him to drive fast. Luckily for me the Hosp isn't far from home.
Finally got to the Hosp. Some mins before 12pm. Doctor checked and said I was fully dilated but contraction wasn't strong enough to bring baby's head down as there was still little space.
Oxytocin was introduced, was still having my regular intervals of about 5mins. It was later increased and I went to heaven and back. Had about 5 contraction in 10mins, each lasting about 45secs.
I later started having the urge to push and was told not to push yet. While we were at it my membrane ruptured and was told to push at the next contraction.
By 1:31pm and with 3 pushes my beautiful princess made her grand entrance weighing 3.3kg with plenty tear.
God stood by me all the way and I'm extremely grateful. He will make it easier for the remaining Feb mama's and every mama here... Amen
No hanging or throwing of boot. Shreading the boot and handling every piece to gtc mums. I join my faith with yours, it is done in Jesus name.... Amen

Good morning Mummies, I'm so scared. Few days ago, I slept off on the rug in our parlour and woke up around 2am. I actually woke up sleeping on my stomach though I slept off on my left side.
Since then, I have been so worried.... What if I suppressed my baby. I am 16 weeks plus

Hi, nothing to worry about. Baby is surrounded by amniotic fluid which cushions it. Before any outside source can harm your baby, you go don feel the pain tey tey. Please, you have nothing to worry about OK.

Birth Story

First of all, I want to really appreciate all the mamas here and on ATC thread for your congrats, support, likes, calls. Thank you all. We will always have cause to rejoice. My able Captain thank you.

Sorry I have been offline.
My baby girl came at exactly 36weeks through vaginal birth. It was a short, fulfilling experience.

I had been experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions since like 6months in pregnancy. I wasn't worried. At the beginning of 36weeks or thereabout ,the contractions started coming with menstrual like aches. I quickly arranged to complete the packing of few remaining items for my hospital box as I didn't want to be caught unawares.

I went to market and added my last few remaining items to my box. That night, I started experiencing what I knew where the real contractions. It came with serious pain. I tried to be breathing in and out through them so as to conserve my energy for delivery like we had been taught here and in antenatal. It worked. I could control myself and manage the contractions better by not shouting. I was writhing, groaning and opening/closing mouth Upandan. Next day, being a Sunday... I prepared to go to church. My husband asked if I will be able to. I said let me try. That most times, the contractions respect themselves when I'm in church grin based on my Braxton Hicks experience.

When I was returning from church, na then e hook me again. I just managed to get to my home. Another dimension of labour started towards evening. It was coming more frequently. Like 10-15 mins. 8-5 mins. Irregularly but frequently and more intense.
My husband and I didn't want to get to the hospital and be sent home that we were still 2/4cm dilated. So we stayed on contemplating whether to go in the morning of the next day or to go later that night.

At a point, we decided to just go and check how dilated I was cos the labour had increased in every way. Couldn't take two spoons of food without being interrupted by intense painful contractions.

Brethren, we got to the hospital around 8.45pm. They checked me in the delivery room and the doctor said I was 8cm dilated and he could see or was it feel baby's head! Nobody was more surprised than me!

They asked if I brought my hospital bag. I said yes oo. They said if I had delayed longer I would have given birth at home or in the car.
That was how they started preparing for delivery. I didn't get up again after checking. The nurse was setting my drip when I felt baby's head coming. I told her o. So she started trying to deliver baby and complete setting up my drip line.

I pushed the first time. Then she said she would give me a cut on the second push to make more room for baby's head. I was given a cut and I pushed and shouted/screamed to bring forth my child 45mins after getting to the hospital. We never knew we had done most of the labouring at home but we were glad we did. God made it fast, easy and He took all the glory.

I was stitched with local anesthetic and that was it. Thank you for your time, mamas.
To my teamies that have birthed, I say big congrats! To those who will still drop, I say safe delivery. To my dear ATC mums, I say the God who did it for us is still in the business of doing good. He will come through for you and you will carry your babies sooner rather than later.

Birth story submitted. Cc Captain beyedew
God is awesome. I'm sooo happy for you kiss. Kisses to her.
