maralina: I did last week; they said they'll attend to it shortly.. I'm still hoping So does this mean that cic doesnt attend to people's applications anymore until you practically beg tgem to do so. This their system is really discouraging. Seriously. I know someone whose application was just 7 weeks and was updated. He'll be getting his trv by next week...hopefully. I don't know if they now select applications randomly. Na wa o. God help us |

PendD: This is not fair, we all have same intentions. They would have just flagged that online applications isn't treated for applicants from this part of the world. How can someone apply since March/April 28 with upfront medical yet no details of medical status updated. We were billed higher and online is suppose to be faster. One thing is clear here, their actions are deliberate!
Sweeping some applications under the carpet is corruption. Lol! Joke apart, some applications have stayed beyond waiting period yet they are not attended. Please do them a mail. I actually think some applications are swept under the carpet. You're right on that. CIC needs more hands and they also need to be sued. I just read here tgat someone's application has been with then since October 2016. I'm beginning to wonder what they're feeling like. They should be sued...no jokes. Afterall 10 months is way past the normal processing time. Nonsense |

Austinpee4: To add to the advice you've gotten already.
@1st bold, Have her swear an affidavit of sponsorship. You already have good funding in form of your scholarship which should meet their requirements for the first year.
@2nd bold, It doesn't matter which passport number is in the medical form. All you need to do is submit all your passport(new and old) including the old medical form when applying through paper route or upload a scanned copy of your datapage alongside other documents if online.
3rd bold, if the professional courses is in-line with your intended program, you are fine. Include documents to show you are undergoing or have concluded them.
Your family members here in nigeria is a strong hometie. If you do not have any asset to include, do well to fill their names in the family information form and possibly add their birth certificates if you can. Thankyou Austin peer. God bless you |

Eraytee: Ok, now i see the reason why u wanted a new passport. But the old one can still be used, it will still amount to my previous point. IRCC would issue d permit on it once it's not less than 6months validity. Your LOA not having end date doesn't mean anything, if trv is to be issued you will get it and later extend when necessary. Thankyou Eraytee |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Beyy: 9:57am On Apr 17, 2017 |
Eraytee: I will say to the latter part of ur post, yes IRCC will not issue a permit beyond d validity of your passport, there is no big deal in all this, if u eventually get approved with dis old passport, study permit extension is a sure thing u wud get in Canada once your LOA reads the end date of ur proposed course. And ur passport can always be renewed in Canada. All d above stated is way too easy and almost lik an auto-play when you get to that bridge. But all d same d ball is in ur court. Thanks Eraytee. Unfortunately, my LOA doesn't have an end date. It has a start date. However, it states that the course duration is a minimum of 2 years full time studies. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by Beyy: 9:22am On Apr 17, 2017 |
prospecthomes: Does it matter if your passport validity is not up to 2 years. You can renew it over there is think I also believe you won't be able to renew it now until it's about 6 months to expiry Thanks for your response but I have been to the immigration office. The officer said it is possible but they'll have to seek approval from abuja. So if it gets approved, they can issue a new passport to me. I want to know if I should use the new passport number or the old one in my application. And should I attach the two of them and explain to the vo why I had to renew? I am concerned about this because I've heard unpleasant stories about the nigerian high commission in canada. More so, my school isn't even in ottawa so I'm also considering the cost thats gonna be involved. Again, CIC says they can't give study permit beyond the validity of one's international passport so that'll mean two things: getting a new passport and applying for study permit extension. |
