Some of these transporters can be so greedy & inconsiderate.

Back in the days fuel pumps had a transparent section along the hose where u could see if the fuel was flowing or not.
I was about to make same comment.
It's high time DPR (or any other concerned regulatory body) made it a compulsory standard for all filling stations to have that transparent joint attached to their hose line.

Don't be surprised if they claim it cost Fifty billion naira
The decoration is done by Zenith Bank as part of their CSR. It’s obviously costly as previous decorations have been ranked among the best in Africa.

seems like I'll also charge this mtn people most especially on this there screen/popup messages.
They will just send message to your screen and before you know it you've press OK and boom unwanted activation starts
Those screen pop-up messages that immediately activate once you mistakenly click "Yes" or "Okay"?! that's a high-grade fraud. I can't be convinced otherwise.

Why would you ...and your younger ones invite your mother during winter? You know it is blistering cold in January... why torture her? Young healthy people travelling for the first time be crying about how cold it is....during late Spring ... and here you are bringing her to spend the middle of winter. Whatever she did to you and your younger ones ... instead of getting back at her ... forgive her. On clothing ...why can't you send her clothing? ...at least you can get her the right outfits and the right sizes. Is she travelling alone?...what if air pressure gets to her and her ears begin to "ring"? ....long distance air travel no be bus ride. My advice ... postpone her flight to July or August when the weather is much more like what she is used to ... she can move about comfortably and not be locked in during her stay
I agree 100%.
Winter is the most punishing of the 4 seasons especially for an aged person coming from a tropical climate.

@ all
I did a transfer from fidelity bank to Standbic ibtc mutual funds account on Tuesday, this is Friday and The money has not been credited.
What do you think could have been the problem. I'm tired of calling customer service and visiting the banking hall.
First, send a mail to mutualfunds@stanbicibtc.com and attach a copy of the transfer receipt.

If Stanbic reply that the fund is not in their account, then you will revert to Fidelity Bank to trace the fund for you.

Quick questions:
1) Did you state your Customer ID in payment description?

2) Can you check again if you transferred to the designated collection account?

You have just written my plan i did this in 4 months so every month i get paid which I use the money to cover my monthly bills, every day now I wake up sad and scared thinking what will happen if I dont get this money how would I take care of my family all my life savings have been put in this bond and now this. cry

What broke my heart today was when i sent a mail to my broker that i wanted to sell they replied that the bonds are not liquid so i may not get buyer.....I would have loved to sell all 4 immediately
You'll surely get your payment.
Selling the bonds now will only lead to bigger regret—they’ll be poorly priced, and you’ll lose a lot. Just hold your nerve; you’re not alone.

Thank you very much for this detailed informations and analysis

I am now reassured that my Uncle is going into the right investment

Please, should he just do FBN Quest which is 23%
Instead of Stanbic IBTC that is 21.5%

Thank you sir
There are several asset management firms offering mutual funds, including FBNQuest, Stanbic, United Capital, GTFund Managers, etc.
For example, while you observed Stanbic MMF @ 21.5% last week, GT's MMF posted 19.44% (down from 20.72%).

So, to answer your question: No firm consistently leads in returns. MMF rates are primarily determined by the weighted average return of the underlying portfolio. And since rates fluctuate, the best a fund manager can do for his customer is to carry out a portfolio rebalancing (that is, changing the proportion of assets in their portfolios) in order to optimize returns.

See attached image for illustration: GTFM’s MMF current portfolio allocates 76.37% to Treasury bills. This allocation can however be adjusted (through portfolio rebalancing) between 25% and 85%, as permitted for short-term government instruments like T-bills (detailed in red box).

You can choose any reputable firm, provided there are no negative customer reviews about them.

InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by bfn1:
MelaninGemstone:
please what’s the catch?
This MMF investment seems too good to be true
21.5% per annum...
Lols! grin This week, FBNQuest’s MMF returned 23% average.
To buttress the contributions earlier made by Obinnau and emmasoft, the 21.5% return on Stanbic's MMF is due to the performance of its underlying securities.
MMFs are investment schemes set up to pool funds from investors (from individuals like your uncle and corporate entities) to invest in low-risk, short-term assets like Treasury bills and commercial papers.

How come everyone in Nigeria is not doing it ??
Omoh! You no rate the Nigerian investment community o!
This thread alone has over 1 million views and 10k+ comments to show you the robust engagements going on here.
Even FBNQuest MMF (only MMF o!) has over ₦234 billion Asset Under Management (AUM) yet it is not the largest player in the Nigerian mutual funds space.

Please sir, what are the risks involved
1. It is fully regulated by SEC.
2. The instruments being invested in are low risk.
3. Your principal investment cannot be eroded.
4. There are laws to ensure that MMF management functions are segmented to maintain proper checks and balances.

From Lagos to benin na up 30 check point
I opened this thread because I wanted to specifically cite Lagos-Benin road.
The number of check points on that axis will leave you frustrated.

beethoven:
If you have ever driven, then you will know that the accident may not be entirely due to recklessness. The truck's rear brakelights may have been out. Once the brakelight of the vehicle in front of you doesn't work, you DO NOT know when they are slowing down or coming to a halt. This such scenario can result in accidents like this. I remember about 8 years ago when God rescued us from a similar incident on third mainland bridge. At night...I was coming at highspeed and did not realize a truck was in front of me. I got into a bad road bump and that slowed down our vehicle, and right there in front, I saw the truck.
The bolded is scary! Stay safe.

Good day team, I noticed my MMF interest is not been credited to my account on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, for more than a month, it has been so. And it's not paid in arrears on Monday. Please I need help.
1. Contact the investment company and request a 3-month account statement. You can specify the exact start date if known.
2. Review the statement to calculate unpaid interest over weekends.
3. Estimate outstanding interest using the rate between the Thursday & Friday before each identified weekend (this will be my conservative approach).
4. Send them your breakdown and request a refund.

How did you submit your bid?
I'm not on ground, how will I remotely buy TB?
With Stanbic? Yes, it's possible to do it remotely.

Request for their T-bills bid form (I think you'll also be sent an indemnity form), fill & scan back to them.

Then proceed to fund your Stanbic account for the same amount you want to bid with (minimum ₦100k).

You may get a phone call from them for verbal confirmation.
