saintjoel: @MBuhari: RT @NGRPresident: STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE: Pres @MBuhari thanks Jordan for donation of military hardware in support of fight against Terrorism #N...
Heard the Jordanian President has just donated 400 armoured vehicles to the military, how true is it?
IbnSultaan: Henry240 he had audience and privilege to secure exclusive contents. These days u done see any exciting information from him. Bidexiii your on Twitter, you know the military minded twitter is small especially NGR, few exciting handles available
Odunayaw: You know how hard it was for these journalists to be convinced the tucanos aren't jets? and you want them to talk about JF17? what would they call it- fighter Helicopter
Nop these guys really know what they are talking about and are well informed about what they are talking about.
Henry240: I disagree with the post on that tweeter handle. The handle isn't a verified twitter account and cannot be passed as an official statement from Pakistan.
It is similar to Beegeagle tweeting on tweeter and been passed as fact.
Whyem15: Why do I have this feeling DHQ is trying to turn the jf17 deal secretive. About 2 months ago, Pakistan said they were weeks away from delivering but since then, we haven't heard anything
Covert1: My brother biko don't try to convince people who have no iota of the doctrine of war. For them is all the shiny toys they see on TV or nairaland most of which will be rust bucket and rust metal when they make first contact with the enemy. Imagine the archaic statement of Egypt gaining air superiority over a country like Nigeria in 48hrs. Egyptian pilots that have been known to be cowardly in the face of real combat. For the naysayers we have no "radar, no early warning system, the Roland's are toothless...". Even Sudan and Ethiopia have been considered no go areas by the Nile Arabs. People forget you can actually buy trouble.
Don't let us start another war on nairaland....Biko
Henry240: The total number of Alpha Jets in service is 15.
Approx. 9 are constantly deployed 3 in Maiduguri, 3 in Yoga and 3 in Port-Harcourt. While the others are rotated.
Nigerian Air Force Alpha Jets are old with some Haven reached 38 years in service. 4 Alpha Jets were recently purchased as attrition replacement while the Air Force sought to purchase the Tucano to replace them in the Light Attack and Recon role.
tdayof: Just curious what their work will be in operation python dance. You ain't firing at civilians with A-jets. More of show of force and not for any combat use.
Abii oO.....
I think what they should av deployed his helicopters for policing and monitoring of ground events.
I used to stay away from the TV and the internet that year..The scorpions we had in power gave me reason to regret being Nigerian. Then I lost my godfather and I decided to come off the bench and pay homage to the heroes, didn't know how until I stumbled on this thread and Henrys'
In line with its commitment to national peace and security, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has deployed some of its air assets, including the Alpha Jet aircraft, to its 115 Special Operations Group in Port Harcourt, to support the ongoing Nigerian Army’s Exercise EGWU EKE II (PYTHON DANCE II). The essence of the deployment is to provide the necessary air cover to the ground troops to enhance overall operational cohesion and efficiency.
It would be recalled the operation began officially on 15 September 2017 and was planned to cover the entire South East Region of the country. The wide expanse of the exercise area and the request by the Nigerian Army for close air support made the involvement of the NAF inevitable. Exercise EGWU EKE II is aimed at combatting security challenges in the Southeastern part of the country. The deployment of the air assets in support of the Nigerian Army is thus in fulfillment of one of the constitutional mandates of the NAF.
