Four SNA Soldiers Killed in Al Shabaab Attack Near Afgoye

At least four Somali national army soldiers are known to have been killed in an Al shabaab attack near Afgoye district, 30Km south-west of Mogadishu, sources said.
The death of the SNA soldiers happened after armed Al Shabaab fighters staged an ambush on military bases manned by Somali troops at Addow Dibille locality.
Reports said Al Shabaab launched the attack on SNA forces, in revenge for the murder of two unarmed civilians - owner of a lorry truck its driver by Soldiers.
Somali military officials did not comment on the Al shabaab attack and the alleged civilian murder outside Afgoye town, which has been the scene of raids in the past.
Al Shabaab fighters who were driven out of the capital in 2011, have shifted their war into hit and run attacks on Somali and African Union forces in southern regions.

Somalia: Al Shabaab Ambushes KDF Convoy

Heavily armed Fighters belonging to Al Shabaab have launched an ambush attack on Kenyan defense forces (KDF) convoy in Southern Somalia on Sunday, reports said.

The KDF convoy came under bomb and gun attack as it was travelling between Legta and Kulbiyow areas in Lower Jubba region of southern Somalia.

The surprise assault began with a blast caused by an improvised explosives device (IED) struck the Kenyan army convoy, sparking subsequently a gunfire.

The details of the casualties remained sketchy due to the remoteness of the area of the attack and neither Al Shabaab nor KDF command did comment on the ambush.

Kenyan defense forces who are serving under AMISOM have crossed into Somalia in October 2011 to crush out the militants, following series of attacks on its soil by Al Shabaab.

Speaking during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration with troops in Maiduguri and Yola, the CAS conveyed the appreciation on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari and all Nigerians. “The good work you are doing in the North East is well appreciated and commended by Mr President and all Nigerians”, the CAS said, while urging them not to rest on their oars but to sustain the high morale and tempo of operation against the insurgents. The CAS, who is currently away on official assignment to South Africa, was represented at both occasions by the Chief of Policy and Plans, AVM James Gbum.

cassava yeah i know about , it is consumed in our some parts of our country too , have eaten it, it was cut into pieces and then boiled with soup.
but i was told it is bad for health if not processed properly .

The hydrochloric acid in it is extracted and fried to reduce the harm. Taking cassava that is not well processed is very harmful.

Av seeing a lot of marine police along ikorudu, epe and Lagos island water ways but you don't compare it with the creek waters, coupled with the thick jungle and the highly armed ND militants.

In few years we might have NPF who are specialized to curb such high level crime.

TROOPS NEUTRALIZE FEMALE SUICIDE BOMBER

On Sunday 11th September 2016, evening, a suspected female suicide bomber was seen approaching troops check point located at Kara Cattle market axis, Dikwa, towards Antul and Mukdala, Dikwa Local Government Area, Borno State.

She was challenged from afar by the vigilant duty sentry, she refused to stop claiming to be coming from Monguno to see her parents in Dikwa.

Troops sensing the direction of approach was suspicious and abnormal, fired a shot at her and the sentry gallant sentry was proven right as she was carrying a Person Borne Improvised Explosive Device (PBIED) which exploded with a loud bang, killing her instantly and causing minor injury on 2 soldiers and a Civilian JTF assisting them.

The injured soldiers and the civilian have been treated and have continued with their duties.

This incident has shown that there are a few of the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists that are determined to carry out criminal acts to create panic and insecurity in some areas.

In a related development, there is also very reliable information that remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists now disguise or pretend to be mad men or women in order to gain access to some locations especially in Maiduguri.

Consequently, all should be very wary of any seemingly mentally unstable or mad men or women found wandering and report same.

Therefore, it is imperative for all to be more security conscious and vigilant especially during the Eid festivities and public holidays.

The public are further enjoined to report any suspicious persons or movement to the security agencies.

I Dont thick our police force has the in depth knowledge of such terrain . let's leave them to handle crimes in our cities,communities and towns for now...
