Madam Helen put her glass cup on the table, went to lock the bedroom door and came to the bed. She lay on her belly and stared at me. It was an unspoken message. I dropped my glass cup on the stool.

She smiled. I removed my shoes and socks.

“The ointment to use is on the dressing table,” she pointed out.
