Helpout12345:
Another advise I have for you is that you are currently on F2B which is for unmarried adult children of LPR. If you get married during this process, you will be moved to F3, married adult children of US citizens.

F3 has longer wait time. Your priority date is in 2019 and they are currently on 2008 for F3. 2019 minus 2008, is 11 years from now for you in F3.

To avoid being moved to F3, remain unmarried but you can have children while waiting.

If you need more specific information further, just ask

Pls how do they know one is married? What if you get married and you don’t update your profile? Are there any implications to that?

If the internet was to contain only 10 websites, which ones will you choose to exist?

As for me, the list of 10 websites I would love to exist is as follows:

1. Google.com: This is my bestie of life that I don’t think I can ever do without. It serves me daily.
2. Wikipedia.com: Of course, this is an information hub that contains at least something about almost everything.
3. Stackoverflow.com: This is where I have my saviors in programming world. It always bails me out.
4. Quora.com: This used to be my dream app I wanted to build before I even realized it was already in existence. I love it so much. They have answers to almost everything in a matured, informative and practical way.
5. Youtube.com: I get trained in here; learn stuffs, and sometimes get entertained there.
6. Yahoomail.com: This guy is really important to me always; I don’t like to miss my mails.
7. Punch.com: A lot is happening; it’s good to know what is going on around. Ignorance is a disease.
8. Sci-hub.cc: This guy is helping me in my research; I can’t afford to keep buying every journal articles, conference articles, and other articles that I need for my research. The fund for research is not that readily available.
9. Nairaland.com: I’ll love to keep this guy in existence. It can entertain and inform one, even though it may contain contradicting information sometimes. I love it though.
10. Windrey.com: This is my own creation that keeps me in business, so I’ll definitely want it to be in existence and grow bigger.

Now over to you…. What are the websites you would choose to exist if the internet was to contain only 10 websites?

Just like it is with every new invention, there wud be reservation n resentment towards it.

But no matter what, technology wud always strive not just to improve upon itself but to improve our lives .

Let those who might feel thretened about losingvtheir jobs go learn AI security. See? Prob solved.

THis op's wailing reminds me of when computers where first introduced to Nigeria in d '80s. Workers came home crying. But look where we are today

They wud keep serving us.
My only issues is: let them not gain self awareness cos then, the humanrace wud be doomed.

Self awareness is one of the major attributes that characterizes such systems as an autonomous system (According to IBM). So if it does not have that feature, then its not an Autonomous system yet.

Science/Technology / Self-driving Robots Will Soon Be Running Your Delivery Errands In The US by bigdrey(m): 9:54pm On Jun 02, 2016
In the near future, if you need a few things from Amazon, or perhaps you forgot to pick up the dry cleaning, there’s a chance a small robot will deliver your goods right to your front door.

No, this won’t be a drone dropping something from the skies. A six-wheeled robot from Starship Technologies, run by the founders of Skype, will soon be making deliveries without those complicated autonomous drone systems touted by Amazon and Google. Starship’s little robots are already making deliveries in London, and they will likely be rolling around US streets soon.

Lauri Väin, Starship’s engineering lead, said during last week’s RoboUniverse conference in New York City, that the company has 10 prototype robots, and plans to have 100 by the end of the year, and over 1,000 next year. The Washington Post reported last month that Starship plans to bring its test program to Washington, DC soon. Väin said the little robots, which look like a rolling ice chests, can handle most curbs and cobbles that they might encounter on the streets of metropolitan areas. His robot followed him along quite nicely on the walk from his Midtown hotel to the convention center, multiple blocks away.

The robots can hold about two shopping bags’ worth of cargo—enough for any missing essentials, or the sorts of things Amazon hopes to ship through the air—and can travel for 2 to 3 hours on a single charge. They use similar technology to Google’s self-driving research cars, and are in constant contact with a human dispatcher who can take over if needed. The robots weigh about 40 lbs., and their cargo bays are can be opened only by the person waiting on the delivery. If someone tries to steal from the bots, they call the police for help and film the incident. (Hopefully, they won’t have to tangle with road rage in Philadelphia.)

Väin said Starship’s robots have driven over 2,000 miles on public sidewalks around the world, and cost a few thousand dollars each to build. “The reception has been very good,” he said, adding that the vast majority of people are either positive or ambivalent about the robots as they putter along. At the conference, barely anyone turned their heads as Väin strolled down the corridors with the robot at his side. To be fair, it was a robotics conference, and therefore not full of your average denizens of a New York City sidewalk.

We'll hopefully have this in Nigeria also someday

Downloading is far more cheaper, it only sends small bytes and receives much bytes WHILE Streaming sends a very much bytes and receives much more bytes as well.
And that's why you shld notice u can hardly stream with a poor ntwrk but u can manage to download with that same poor ntwrk (if will only take longer time).

Computers / 6 Most Popular Methods For Cracking Passwords And Their Countermeasures by bigdrey(m): 11:44am On Mar 30, 2016
On daily basis, we here or receive complaints of accounts being hacked, information being stolen, privacy intrusions and many more which shows that there are several methods used by hackers in hacking your account and also getting your personal information.

We have researched the most popular methods used by every hackers in getting your password and we are providing some countermeasures to those methods in this post.

NB: This post is not to teach you how to hack, but will provide a more secured suggestion on how prevent your password being hacked.

1. Phishing
Phishing is the most easiest and popular hacking method used by hackers to get someone account details. In Phishing attack, hacker will send fake page of real website like Accessbank, facebook to victim. When someone login through that fake page his details is automatically sent to the hacker. This fake pages can be easily created and hosted on free web-hosting sites.

Countermeasure: Phishing attacks are very easy to avoid. The url of this phishing pages are different from the real one. For example URL of phishing page of Accessbank might look likeAccesbank.com (As you can see There is only one "s"wink. Always make sure that websites url is correct, and never follow an email link to login account details (Especially Bank Accounts).

2. BruteForce Attack
Any password can be cracked using Brute-force attack. Brute-force attacks try every possible combinations of numbers, letters and special characters until it matches the correct password. Brute-force attacks can take a very long time depending upon the complexity of the password. And the cracking time is determined by the speed of computer and complexity of the password.

Countermeasure: Use long and complex passwords. Try to use combination of upper and lowercase letters along with numbers and possibly characters. Brute-force attack will take hundreds or even thousands of years to crack such complex and long passwords.

Example: Passwords like "myrealname" or "mypassword" can be cracked easily whereas computer will take thousand of days to crack passwords like "Ya34lL!"

3. Rats and Keylogger
In keylogging or RATing the hacker sends keylogger or rat to the victim. This allows hacker to monitor every thing victim do on his/her computer. Every keystroke is logged which includes passwords and usernames. Moreover hackers can even control the victims computer to perform some remote functions.

Countermeasure: Never login to your bank account from cyber cafe or someone else computer. If its important use on-screen or virtual keyboard while tying the login. Use latest anti-virus software and keep them updated. And never install any file from the internet without proper scanning and verifying the source.

4. Rainbow Table
A Rainbow table is a huge pre-computed list of hashes for every possible combination of characters. A password hash is a password that has gone through a mathematical algorithm such as md5 or CHA5 and is transformed into something which is not recognizable. A hash is a one way encryption so once a password is hashed there is no way to get the original string from the hashed string. A very commonly used hashing algorithm to store passwords in website databases is MD5. It is almost similar to dictionary attack, the only difference is, in rainbow tables attack hashed characters are used as passwords whereas in dictionary attack normal characters are used as passwords.

Example: ("hello"wink in md5 is 5d41402abc4b2a76b9719d911017c592 and empty string (""wink is d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e

Countermeasure: Make sure you choose password that is long and complex. Creating tables for long and complex password takes a very long time and a lot of resources.

5. Guessing
This looks silly but this can easily help hackers to get ones password within seconds. If the hacker knows you, he can use information he knows about you to guess your password. Hacker can also use combination of Social Engineering and Guessing to acquire your password.

Countermeasure: Don't use your name, surname, phone number or date of birth as your password. Try to avoid creating password that relates to you. Create complex and long password with combination of letters and numbers which has nothing really about your personal information.

6. Social Engineering
Social engineering is process of manipulating someone to trust you and get information from them. For example, if the hacker was trying to get the password of a co-workers or friends computer, he could call him pretending to be from the IT department and simply ask for his login details. Sometimes, hackers call the victim pretending to be from bank and ask for their credit cards details. Social Engineering can be used to get someone password, to get bank credentials or any personal information.

Countermeasure: If someone tries to get your personal or bank details, refer them to check their database. If they are legit, they should have every details they need without having to call you.
Never ever give your password and credit card details for any reason.

I just took some time to make a little research on the university i graduated from, Possibly for something bad on the internet this holiday....It was just clean...No bad record....I am kind of happy... I guess the school Authority is doing something great....and most of the undergraduates are homely....

As at 1999-2005 the institution was known to be very dangerous....we were not popular in terms of Academics then...But the name was the most popular for the wrong reasons.... even as i checked on this thread, the name hasn't been mentioned for what it was known for before......
Anyone that was in Nigerian university from 1998-2006 will definitely know the institution.. I just hope no one will tell me it was still bad... That i was praising them for nothing cheesy
I know u talking abt OSU now OOU

Computers / How To Turnoff PC After X Time by bigdrey(m): 11:34pm On Jan 19, 2016
Are you downloading long files at night and worried who will turn off your PC when you slept? It should not give you headache let’s little hack into windows to turnoff your PC after desired time.

A Batch file

A batch file: this is a text file with extension (.bat), It contains a sequence of commands for computer operating system. A batch file is usually created for command sequences for which a user has a repeated need.

You can create a batch file using Notepad and choose Save as filename.bat where filename is the name of the file and .bat is the extension (make sure the file has an extension of (.bat) without brackets.

Command

After you created your .bat file place this code in it

@echo off
shutdown -s -t 1800

Save the file (ctrl + s) , You can run the batch file program by click on the file and the computer will prompt a warning
The computer will shutdown 30 minutes (1800 seconds) after running the batch file.

To cancel a shutdown initiated by that batch file, you can go to Start -> Run and type:

shutdown -a

Or you can put the code in separate batch file then run it to cancel a shutdown.

Hope this is simple and useful, before you download malicious software please ask us for solution
