freshvine:I hope so |
Philadelphia:Very unfortunate |
Another week is here, Both Oliverjiad and Amdman are still going back and forth, while those whose vehicles are in the container and who didn't signup for this delay as a result of Amdman's failure to carry out due diligence and background check before assigning to a clearing agent Vs. Oliver's nonchalant attitude to work and poor client management skills ends up suffering for the delay in having the vehicles they paid for 3-4 months ago. This is an eye opener indeed. |
Oliverjiad, You are looking for more business while you are yet to deliver on the one Amdman paid you for 5 weeks now, You are shooting yourself on the leg young man. https://www.nairaland.com/5672250/oliverjaid-where-container/2 |
NeededGist:This EPL right I guess it's the reason why they are lagging, and people still subscribe, if they were to lose it, they will be on their toes again, too bad we don't have a competitive cable TV at the moment to rival these guys |
thinksquad:Yeah |
bestpunterever: ![]() |
Slynation:It wasn't always like this, I hope they adjust soon |
fernandoc:Exactly |
Maybe it's just me, I find dstv channels boring these days, they keep repeating old movies / Shows over and over, and for the past few weeks I have had cause to turn off the decoder and watch movies I downloaded online or watch shows I saved on Explora months back, this is where I wish we had alternative cable TVs that can compete with DSTV. I'm contemplating on reducing my subscription from premium to lower packages. The management of DSTV should look into this urgently. |
ken4jj:The 4k is not for an entire year, its for a month |
yak:The minimum amount is 100k, and yes you can fix it. |
ken4jj:the minimum tenure for Time fixed deposit is 30 days, while its 7days for Call fixed deposit, the 7% is per annum but later analysed into months or days, depends. meanwhile, see an example if you were to book your 700k at 7% for a tenure of 30days in the bank. Amount Invested: NGN700,000 Effective Date: : October 5, 2015 Interest Rate: : 7% per annum Tenor: : 30 days Maturity date: November 4, 2015 Value at Maturity: NGN4,027.39: this is calculated as : 7 divided by 100 multiply #700,000 divided by 365 days(annum) multiply 30 days(tenor) = NGN4,027.39: Note that the accrued interest is subject to 10% Withholding tax, and if you liquidate before expiration of the tenure, you will be charged 20%. |
manie:2% ke, that's cheat deposit not fixed deposit, this is what i do everyday in the office, and i decided to come here and inform my fellow NL, that a banker will tell u a low interest and persuade you to accept it but meanwhile they can offer you more, banks know that most customers through persuasion will accept any rates for fixed deposit, as no true business man will focus on Fixed deposit when they know what same money can fetch them outside there, Banks want deposit but cheap deposit, they know that people will not keep their money at home for security reasons, so why pay them good interest on fixed deposit monthly without a fight when there are still customers with millions and billions in their account with no strings attached(just for saving sake and not investment). |
kingsab:you are welcome |
ogawisdom:Only an immature will insult rather than discuss, yet you named yourself Ogawisdom |
rev2214:The Tsa implementation affected banks liquidity form as trillions of Naira were pulled out of commercial banks to CBN, at this stage, banks need to increase their efforts in mobilizing deposits, u must have heard when fidelity bank announced that some of their branches will be opening to customer Saturdays 10am to 2pm or so. Banks need all the customers deposit they can get, so be sure to check among banks to see where you can get good rates for fixed deposit |
ogawisdom:If you were patient enough to read through, u would noticed where this was addressed, Even a primary school student knows that rate is per annum, In fixed deposit, they are analysed into months and at times days( when liquidating Fd before time) in order to get the accrued interest, If you are doubting banks still offer good rate for funds less than 1m, why not walk into an Ecobank branch and confirm, note that its business for the bank, so they might tell u a low rate at first, but push further and convince them a friend of yours did same Fd in same bank in another location and was given a good rate( use the rates shown in the guide i attached to bargain) |
sharpman1:Depends on how you look at it, the interest are calculated per annual, which breaks down to per month, then days in some cases(call fixed deposit or customer liquidates before time) as you will be credited the accrued interest for the number of days it was fixed with the bank, |
Omonomose1:Guarantee trust bank and Ecobank rate seems okay as well. |
feelamong:who is talking about secondary market here, that's not the deal, the rate is low compare to primary auction. yes you can sell the your Tbs if you want your principal, but how soon can one complete the process, its still not as fast and convenient as liquidating an FD |
feelamong:Treasury bills rates are higher, but don't forget your money will be uprooted for atleast 3 months unlike Fixed deposit where you can book for a month, one can also bid for treasury bills and fail simply because your bidding rates were higher than the CBN stop rate. Fixed deposit can be liquidated within a short time, if you ever needed the principal amount for something else it's your choice bro. |
Omonomose1:yes |
moderation2020:its per month, see monthly rate in the attached new rate guide, 1-m , 2-m, 3-m, note that Month is abbreviated as m, and interest rate varies, depending on how many months you are booking for in some cases while in other cases interest rate remain the same in respective of the tenure |
I was drawn by a thread stating that Fixed deposit rate has gone down as bad as 3%, please note that this is not entirely true, as banks are looking for ways to increase and mobilise deposit which will put them in a more liquid state. we have two types of fixed deposit which are listed and discussed below: 1)Time Fixed deposit: this is a fixed deposit booked on minimum of 30 days, the percentage are usually around 7% on funds less than #1million for some banks ( see attached), the interest is credited into customers account at the end of the FD tenure, however, a client can choose to liquidate FD before time, but will be charged higher commission usually 20% of the accrued interest because they defaulted( liquidating before the agreed tenure) 2) Call fixed deposit: this are deposits that are fixed for 7 days and below 30 days, the rates are usually around 2.50% for funds less than #1million in some banks (see attached new rate guide) most clients are not aware of this type of FD, however some clients that are aware will rather treat as Time Fixed deposit with better rate and then liquidate before the agreed 30days which is also possible, thus enjoying the time deposit rate, however clients will be charged higher commission usually 20% as against the normal 10% of the accrued interest. kindly see attached the new advised rate in one of the leading commercial banks in Africa. Modified 1: note that its business for the bank, so they might tell u a low rate at first, but push further to convince them that somebody you know did same Fd in same bank in another location and was given a good rate( use the rates shown in the attached guide to bargain). Modified 2: Have you ever wonder why despite the economy situation in Nigeria, Nigeria banks keep declaring increased profit, the reason is they have decided to act more smartly, thus my reason for opening this thread. Good luck.
