Uganda named best investment destination in East Africa



Uganda beat six other nations to emerge the best investment destination in East Africa during a global investors awarding ceremony in Abu Dhabi.



Uganda through its investment authority bagged the gold award for attracting the best investment project in 2022 during the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) 2023 in Abu Dhabi- a leading platform for investors in the world- where more than 170 countries are taking part in exhibitions and lobbying investments.



Rwanda's Development Board came second.



The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement welcomed Uganda's top rank as key to attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), technology transfer, and promoting the country’s exports and tourism.

One cannot help but wonder where Kemi Olunloyo and other APC supporters got the report of Obi managing campaign funds alone from. Or that Mr Obi’s ordeal had anything to do with money laundering since the British Government through the Home Office, declined to state the reason Obi was detained in an official response to an official enquiry by Premium Times.

Business Advisory!
Rwanda is one of the most promising places in Africa to start a new Company and also one of the most hostile places to actually make a profit. By Profit, i mean; Income[Revenue] - Expenses = Something to save or reinvest!....Much more akin to the Gold Rush of Mid-west in far back USA. There definitely was no real, Eldorado styled gold mines, but, for those that open their creative minds, a whole lot of Value Chain businesses were created and lots of investors became wealthy. The same came be said about the "HYPE" of Rwanda as a veritable business cove. Forget the media hype.... The street is military.

Advise Number One. Do not come with all your money. Come looking broke. It will save you a lot of headache, gold diggers, needless expenses etc. Divide your investment cash into three. Come with one, invest it, 90% chances are, you will lose it. Yes, lose it quickly. Learn some lessons, then move on with the second tranche. Now, you aint a newbie anymore. You will quickly realize the reason why the first investment quickly ran down the drain: The people! Fire everyone, with the lessons learned, block all loopholes. Chances are you will not need the third investment trance, as you will stabilize now.

Advise Number two. Stay away from high priced accommodations or stuffs [This is particularly for my African brothers]. Lots of Rwandans will shame you, blackmail you into spending more than you plan. I once ask a bitch to accompanied me for shopping. Motherfucker must have thought i am Elon Musk Jr, see how she's recommending stuffs that are totally unnecessary! What i plan to throw away is just $200. The bitch, so broke she can not even afford or have $5 to her name was so Priddy, you know, wanting me to buy this or that for my self as if i dont know what is good for me! Guess what i did. I quietly asked her if she cared for a fresh smoothie. It was a trap & a good investment for me. I bought her the smoothie and quietly wish she drown herself with the juice. That $2.5 investment saved me from overspending my budget. Nice little motherfucker you'd call me! Lol

Advise Number three. Stay away from some kind of businesses such as food, hospitality, buying & selling to locals. You will loose everything! More on this later!

I tell you my friends, it's tough here, but ok. Tell me anywhere in the world where it isnt tough? USA? UK? Go check the population of the homeless & those sleeping in freezing temperatures, outside! What makes you succeed is your resolve.

Also, another challenge in Rwanda is lack of skilled, indigenous local manpower. Lot's of them are just not fit for the street hustle.... Don't let some Prof fool you, money is not in the office, it's in the street. Better be street smart than book smart. Best if you gat both. You know, its here in Rwanda i found out that if you dress well & sharp, many people will say you are smart, you look smart, but where i come from, you might dress haggard, look dirty but lots of people will compliment you as been SMART! This accolade comes only when you have solved a challenge, improve on something, anything! Also, most Rwandans will never tell you the truth of any thing, everything, so long as gain is not involved, or so long another Rwandan is involved. They'd just smile and walk away. Always take note of this.

Let me share an experience with you. Employ a Rwandan alone, both of you will have a swell working relationship. But the moment another Rwandan comes onboard, you will experience a silent conspiracy to hid stuffs from you, cover ups, excuses on behalf of each other etc This is not minding the fact that the fortunes of the Company will be affected by this actions. As a foreigner, you must be careful. Beware of the Plastic smile!

If you do not heed these advices, mind your business, treat it like an egg, vet every thing, double vet everything, not only will you lose your business, you will go broke. Trust me, that is when you will realize the true color of people!

Three thing i learned in Life;
* Stay away from broke people who have nothing on the table that will contribute [financially, psychologically, spiritually or intellectually] to your partnership. They will make you loose not only your money but your time & sanity. Guess what? They will blame some god for their foolishness & move on as if nothing happened.

* Stay away from ideas you can not plan from the beginning to the end. If you can not see 70% possibility of success, then you should not do it! Be original. No one knows your ideas more then you. Even when you wake up from bed, you can hit your work station straight up!

* Always sacrifice something dear to you; money, friends, sleep, time, etc so you can focus and achieve your Goal. I always tell my staff during morning briefings: THERE ARE ENEMIES EVERYWHERE! Too bad they have no idea what sort of enemies i am making reference to; sleep, laziness, laid backwardness, procrastinations etc. Protect your business from these enemies!
