Majority of the$e men are badly rai$ed, heartless and don't have con$cience. Imagine that none of them see's anything wrong with a guy who has a girlfriend, plus 3 side chicks and with records of his girlfriend's committing uncountable ab0rtions. Hopefully, karma and the wrath of G0d decends on y0u all.

I don't understand, where is it stated in our constitution or law that protests are illegal? Why are they making a big deal out of it if not that they have something to hide? They should better turn things around because that protest will hold which will be a dent to their image.

If only Nigeria is a country that the law works

Anyway, the wife should at this point prepare for anything if she wants to remain in the marriage, because this man doesn't sound remorseful at all.

Will you shut up, you emotionally confused mannequin.

Making stupid noise about what you don't understand. Where were you when video evidence emerged of an EFCC operative brutally slapping a harmless girl in a night raid on a hotel? Why isn't your voice loud to ask for that animal's prosecution? Or na only husband and wife matter dey make una n*poles stand? I don't understand you fake feminazis. There was a video of P Diddy assaulting Cassy, and he owned up to it. Why hasn't he been prosecuted for assault? Or is it Chris Brown and Rihanna? We are even talking about the almighty USA.

Or is it particularly different when it comes to a husband administering some punitive slaps to his wife? In Nigeria? A country where Old men are legally allowed (under Sharia law) to marry children as young as 13? Where is your sharp mouth to campaign vigorously against such nonsense?

It is when a husband and wife have issues which resort to a few slaps here and there (a massively common phenomenon), then you raggedy pseudo feminazis would jump out to form knowledge of the law. Have you heard about alternative dispute resolution?

Illiterate. I don't waste time with flat chested, evening newspaper, failed relationships brooding feminazis. Na you want teach me law. Gerrout joor. Rubbish people.

As expected, they resort to name calling when empty of a reasonable counter defense, then easiest route of "whatabouism" surfaces, typical of nairaland boys

@ bolded not surprised you are also an abuser, shows a clear case of mental deficit due to damaged upbringing and not being loved at home, I leave you to your demons.

Why will I ask her when it is none of my business?

Why is the aftermath of her decision your life's problem when you are just a mere moniker on a faceless forum?

And the witness would be who?

There's nothing like Lagos State vs anybody in a matter like this, unless the supposed 'victim' is dead, incapacitated, or alive and willing to provide evidence.

People fight and beat each other / assault each other up everyday all over the world. If the assaulted party is an adult, and comes out later to say oh, I'm all in on it and we're cool, no issues. Who or what is the government to prosecute the other party?

Law was made for man not man for the law.

So, the fact is that the woman will have to bear responsibility. Let her embrace her Pyrrhic 'victory'. A big win for Nigeria's fake feminists and a massive L for her.

Are you okay? What has feminism got to do with a man beating up his wife? I'm starting to believe so many men on this forum had a damaged upbringing that makes them see beating up wives and probably their mothers as the norm, or they were not loved at home, cos what type of rubbish comment is this?

Do you even understand the law? Assault and battery in whatever form is illegal in Lagos state, either the wife or whoever likes it or not, he will be charged to court to defend himself and he will be made to appear to prove his case or get jail term, why the hell will you try to make up silly excuses for assault?

Later the likes of you will open your dirty mouth to say Nigeria is so corrupt and nothing is working, you want things to work but hate when the laws works because it negatively affects a man because of a woman, you want a sane society but do not want to do the work to achieve it

Nigeria is on a long thing, if this is the breed of old men we will have 20 to 30 years from now, Nigeria will not get better.

I also think it's a mental deficit, because I don't understand how a full grown male will hate his gender so much that he had to claim to be female on a faceless forum to get accolades and praises from damaged boys with his negative female comments, it has to be insanity.

My Brother who is into interior decoration does Buy Curtain from a seller(let's call the seller A) at Oshodi (Arena) for his clients job, curtains worth millions of Naira.
One day the seller-A did not come to the market for reasons best known to her and he (brother) decided to buy from another seller (Seller B) nearby.

When A resumed market, he went back to buy from A. But sometimes he buys from B the other sellers too, because he doesn't want downtime for his clients.

One day seller A saw him buying at seller B shop and accused him of buying from another seller A, and keep malice with him for being loyal.

What will you advise him to do?

You're using market analogy for marriage and polygamy? Imagine how this one reduced women/wives to a buyer seller comparison, and they have mothers at home

If Jarus did not beat his wife, he would not be where he is today, Fact.

As a Muslim man, it is not deceit to marry a second wife, even the wife is aware of this fact in the Quran and if she is not happy, an amicable divorce is always an option. Do you know if the wife is making his life a living hell or whatever situation might have led to him contemplating a second marriage?

If he is not happy in his marriage, he should divorce his wife first before marrying another woman, you don't expect her to accept a second wife because he's unhappy, then also expect her to be happy with you, she'll deal with your sorry aśs where necessary

How you guys even expect a woman to accept a second wife just like that is funny, do you people reason at all? Is that logical to you? This thing is simple reasoning and common sense o, no woman will ever accept to share their husband with another woman under the same roof, it's not possible.

some women come into relationships with ulterior motives that were never disclosed to the man at the beginning of the relationship. If a Muslim woman has a problem with polygamy, she is free to take up the theological argument with her Imam/Alfa, never marry a Muslim man, or make a change of religion. Some things are implied and never stated and,9 out of 10, you will never find a man with a polygamous tendency disclosing that fact upfront.

Sometimes, you are not even aware you may need a second wife in the future. The first wife can exercise her right of divorce if she so chooses.

The bolded, apples and oranges, your comparison is illogical to say the least, what motive is it that women have in marriage? To bring in a second husband? What motive can be worse than that? You should listen to yourself sometimes

Again, polygamy is not must in Islam, the earlier the lots of you that ignorantly type this trash as your go-to point realise and accept it, the better for you, it is not compulsory in Islam, it is only permitted if the wives can be treated equally which is not possible,

The fact that polygamy is permitted doesn't mean Muslim women should expect that in marriage and accept that fate, Muslim women are humans with feelings not doormat expected to accept anything into their homes, they have the right to be against polygamy

If a man is not aware that he may need a second wife in future, he should open his mouth to tell his fiancée that there is a possibility of a second wife, if she isn't comfortable with it, she will leave, there are many women who don't mind having other wives, look for them, they exist even in the tiniest of holes,

You do not get to deceive a woman into polygamy and not expect repercussions.

No you are mixing things up. Jarus is where he is today because he beat his wife and announced his crimes on social media. That is a stupid thing to do.
Must have laid hands on her in the past regardless of the second wife situation. A wife beater is a wife beater regardless of the situation so, I would say they may have been having underlying marital issues which might have led Jarus to the contemplation of a second wife.

My argument is that it is not reasonable to expect a man to inform a woman at the beginning of a relationship that he would be taking a second wife ten years down the road.

How exactly is it not reasonable? So it's reasonable to deceive a woman into a monogamous marriage without informing her of your polygamous intention? Isn't that deceit? Then you expect her to be nice and dandy when you bring in a second wife after 10years of marriage without any repercussions and push back? You're not serious at all.

I'm actually very happy the international community clearly see that it's the so called useless men that are the watchword of the nonsense on nairaland, the so called leaders of tomorrow with nothing in their head except tribal racism, bigotry, hatred for themselves and their women, and other evil vices one can never know existed,

It's unfortunate Seun is not doing anything about it after what happened to this site last December and the promises of cleaning up this site from the hands of cesspit idiots, the worst place of all is politics section, it is an eyesore, one can't see intelligent comments without tribal bigotry inserted into it

No wonder your grandpa corrupt politicians shiit on your heads everyday, because they've known and seen that men of this generation are nothing to write home about, too stupid and senseless to reason like a sane human for the betterment of the Nigerian society, and these are the people that want to take over the country from the ancestral theiving corrupt political fools,

Una never ready, continue disgracing yourselves home and abroad, the reality y'all are experiencing today is small, in the next 10 years today's reality will be like Eldorado to the extent that, you will look for tears you no go see am, keep saying nonsense here in the name of cruise.

Modified: Even on this thread they still had to use tribal slurs and bigotry smh.

"This place is like heaven, there is no noise here, and the place has not been littered."

This is why the RICHEST pastors in the world are in Nigeria in spite of the ABYSMAL exchange rate.

Pastors in the US and other first-world countries cannot use the promise of heaven to scam a lot of people like their Nigerian counterparts can.

Nobody will give a fuuuck about your promise of Eldorado after they die when EVERYTHING works as it should. Unlike Nigeria where CALAMITY and CHAOS are the order of the day.

In Nigeria, pastors will tell you to ask God to enlist angels to fight for you. But the same pastors will hire a LAWYER to fight over a land dispute.

Pastors in Nigeria will advise members to buy handkerchiefs and anointing oils for "divine healing" but jet out to Germany for routine medical checkups.

Religion should be designated a TERRORIST ORGANISATION if we want Nigeria to progress.

modernWays:
I don't blame the grandma but her son who could not give her comfortable life in Nigeria. There are countless grandmas including mine who are living like queens with everything good life can offer in Nigeria. You will even beg them to follow and spend few months with you, let alone refusing to come back.

Older people love nature, infact I have seen many of them relocated from Lagos and Abuja to their home towns to enjoy abundance of nature.

See educated illiterates that refused to read comprehensively for basic understanding, but good at dishing long epistles of nonsense to denigrate Nigeria, the first one had to lambast Christain religion to go off topic, if -0 IQ was a person, and these ones will call themselves grown up adult men, they prefer to read the topic only and type useless narratives that suits their limited mindset
