the volume and speedy movemnet of EU this week, is that normal? is it the war? or its just one of those weeks,? theres so much volume and eu almost running like gold, the volatility is on another level? is that how march is?

i believe the speed with which the figures change on mt5 compared with other assests is what put fear into me as a newbie...its a cool pair and best probablity of giving returns for little risk..and when it faces one bias, it faces...no pretense

i normally trade euro,..on thursday i decided to try gold, i used 0.01 lot size, risking 10usd, i made 40 usd,( 1;4rr) i was shocked...

now am certain if i trade EUR, withe 0.01, even with 1:4 rr, theres no way profits would be that much...,this side of the maths confuse me, why does 0.01 lot size in gold give 40 in 1:4 rr, but 0.01 lots size in eur would give less..? and please is gold more profitable to trade?.

That $0.10 move = 10 pips if your broker shows prices in a 2-decimal format.
In most CFD platforms:

1 lot of USOIL = 100 barrels

So a $1 move = $100 profit/loss per lot.

Therefore, a 1-cent move ($0.01) = $1 per lot.

So, if:

Price moves $0.10 (10 pips)

And you're trading 1 lot

You gain/lose $10


Lot size = Risk amount / (Stop size in $ × 100)
Because 1 lot = 100 barrels for oil,
Lot size = 20 / (0.20 × 100)
= 20 / 20
= 1 lot.

1 pip = 0.01 (1 cent move)

1 lot = 100 barrels

So:

1 pip = $1 per lot

10 pips = $10 per lot

Formula for Pip Value:

Pip Value=Lot Size× Contract Size× Pip Size.
