[quote author=MizMyColi post=50423733]I'm not so sure now if a topic like this has been created recently.

But I felt like discussing this on the forum considering how far I have come with believing in Tecno as a brand.

Besides, most of us can relate to owning a Tecno device and other Chinese OEMs than the Major Flagship phones of this world.

Tecno came into Nigeria at a time when it was a "Taboo" for an average NIgerian to own a mobile.
They moved on from that phase to actually replicate what we see in the big boys devices, and so for the first time, most Nigerians got to have a hang of what it means to play candy crush on a device, snap bright pictures, use BBM and other IM apps.

Some of us have graduated from Tecno, some of us still use the device despite owning bigger flagships, majority of us ( yours truly inclusive) are new converts who are really impressed with the quality of their work lately.

I have not just handled, but used a number of their new age devices, except the latest phantom series. I tried getting my hands on the phantom, but my source couldn't get me one to test run probably because it's really a high end device according to Tecno laws. So I resorted to begging for it through Twitter. I pray my market sells sha.

Okay, sorry for that diversion. I'll just go straight to the point.

My bestest Tecno device of all time goes to the Tecno Camon C9. I saw the phone at the salon today and how I felt when I first held it some months back was still the same way I felt holding it again today.

There is something about its build and feel. There is something about its fluidity in functionality that still piques me till this moment.
I love Tecno Camon C9 smiley smiley smiley

Which of their phones have you always liked? Are you singling out the device based on specs alone or have you actually used it?

Please share...[/quote

I've sending this from my Camon C9 which happens to be my very first tecno mobile... Got it 2 weeks ago... I'm not disappointed... Tecno rocks

Congratulations Bro

I am also currently serving in Offa, the federal poly offa to be precise. As regards accomodation, it is very cheap but the challenge is that you can get 100% house that will suit ur taste. Even me self before i could get one, when fedpoffa refused to give us accomodation i had to pay three different agents and the houses they took me to were very horrible. It was another corper in my PPA that helped me secure a place in his area. Light is another issue, d power situation dere is very drastic. All the same, you are welcome to Offa Community
Sup guy, u still serving in Offa or you're done? This is my second month working here in Offa.

You are going to my hometown and I can 100% assure you that cost of living is very cheap and You will experience beautiful scenes around you as a result of polytechnic students therein . I mean , it won't be a dull environment for you.

With 100k house per annum, you will live like a king, if you would spend 150k, Wao .... you will be living in "Maitaima, WuseII or Asokoro of Offa....

There is owode market where stuffs are quite cheap especially on market day ......

You can also visit Avalon hotel or awrab suites if you are thinking home away from home treatment....

Visit the palace of Oloffa of Offa to learn some heritage of my hometown if you wish.

Thanks, you will enjoy your stay ..... Don't meddle in Offa Politics, lol ..... we can be argumentative and stubborn at times....

But we are beautiful people .... If you live in Ilorin, you can live in Offa only that Ilorin is more diverse while Offa is still like one whole Family.
All these are what I would tag "the procedures/steps to quality living standard in Offa". You made the whole thing look pretty cool and simple. Oh! I can't wait.
Friendship level: I'm a grown up man. I shuffle people to make fwends. I don't just mingle with every tom, dick and harry(just some few responsible ones). Though u know d ins and outs of ur town and I will not in anyway derail from ur advice. Cheers

First, a big congrats to you man!

Secondly I can assure you that you'd save a lot living in Offa compared to living in a big city like Lagos or Abuja. With 100k, you can get yourself a good 2 bedroom flat with all the basic amenities.

And if you like to chill out on weekends, I know a nice Park you can visit, Omega Gardens...

Congrats once more!

P.S: I was based in Offa for quite a number of years before I moved to Lagos because of work.
Mr Ironben, Thanks a bunch dude. As if u knew I'm a kinda fun loving person. Where's this Omega Gardens located? What specials goodies are there waiting for me?

Congratulations...Offa is an okay town..what majority of people in the so called cities and towns fail to understand is ; it is better to live in a 3 bedroom flat in Offa than 1 small room in okokomaiko.

Offa has more than okay neighbourhod for your current profile to meet some of your social needs as well.

If you focus and improve yourself on the job..your stay there maybe temporary. Telecoms firms always prefer their best technical hands where their biggest infrastructure and customers are.
Your contribution is a source of relieve to my worries... Thanks bro...

Congrats and welcome to telco. I'm sure you'll find it interesting as long as you have this "never give up" spirit.

To your questions; as a field engineer, you shouldn't bother about standard of living in offa as you'll hardly work within offa. Even if you work within offa, you'll end up moving from one site to another and standard of living will be the least of your worries.

As for your second question, I know for a fact that rent isn't costly in offa. Just bear it in mind you'll practically be dashing your landlord the rent as you'll hardly stay in the house cheesy.

Congrats once more, wishing you all the best.
@ rationalmind, thanks so plentiful for your time and the eye-opening msg. May God reward u for me... If I may ask, are u also in the telco world or once lived in kwara state?

Hello Nairalanders,

I want you to help me thank God. I've been job-hunting for the last one year. I finished nysc July 2nd, 2015 and got my employment letter July 2nd, 2016 (Isn't that wondeful?). Its a telecom company(Phase3 Telecom) with HQ in Maitama, ABJ and I've been hired as a Network/Field Engineer. I've been scheduled to start next month in Offa, kwara state but some things are baffling me which I seek the help of nairalanders for .

1. I will like to be enlightened on the living standard of Offa (Stayed in Ilorin for some years though)

2. Like how expensive is rent in Offa?

Thanks...
