There's something I'm yet to understand properly o. Assuming I'm single when I dived into the pool and get married after ITA/AOR, will my point be recalculated or not? joo2018: Only a small correction to the misrepresentation part.
It is only misrepresentation if you list yourself as single when you are already married.
You can always change from unaccompanied to accompanied, but as you noted, the points will be recalculated. 1 |

Meoos: Bigwizzy,
Your thoughts and concerns are well articulated, how ever, I'll suggest you take it a step at a time.
I think you need to really understand what the Federal Skilled Worker stream of Canada's express entry is all about.
1. If your wife becomes the principal applicant (PA) and as a self employed person, will you still be operating or applying via the FSW route or another different application process is involved? What's really your age? 50? If you have a degree or skilled trade, I think it's far better than selling foodstuffs as I'm not sure there's any occupation under this category. On the contrary, if you or your fiancée have any degree and at least a year's work experience, FSW or PNP will be okay as you'll need to evaluate your certificate in order to qualify. I can't talk about the business registration part as I'm not into that aspect.
2. In my opinion, I'll suggest you calm down and take it lil by lil, a step at a time. You need both families' approval in that your Union oo, it's important. Before you go to the registry, please be sure you've gotten their approval, you'll need them sometime. The pool isn't running away yet, do the things that need to be done first before diving. I hope you both have written your English proficiency test (IELTS) and done your educational credentials evaluation (ECA). These are prerequisites to entering that pool you're rushing into. Also, you need to understand that there are peeps that have been in that pool for more than one year and there are other that don't stay up to 1 week in the EE pool, it all depends on your level of preparation before diving.
Let me stop here for the elders to come and chooke mouth. Please if I didn't say want you wanted to hear, don't be angry with me mbok, I'm still your fellow Nigerian Thanks for the advice fam. May God guide you aright too. French(TEF) all the way. |

Hello my wonderful people,
Lemme go straight to the point
After I realised I can't be the PA due to age, I resorted to using my fiancee. We're supposed to have married a long time ago but family issues abound. We want to use her as self employed applicant. She has been selling foodstuffs for over 3 years and understated are my worries;
1. I know it's a must she registers her business with CAC before it can be tendered to IRCC/CICC. She hasn't registered it since she started over 3 years now. If we register it towards the time we want to create express entry profile, won't it look suspicious ? Hope they won't start counting the existence of the business from the date on the CAC registration document?
2. My family hasn't allowed us marry. They just started seeing things our ways recently though. Is there a way we can go to the registery & get married without our parents consent so we can apply as couple ? Please I want to know how possible this is in case we never pick wedding date till we are ready to dive into the pool.
3. If enquiry 2 above is possible, please explain a bit so I can start planning ahead.
4. Can we go to any registry or must it be Ikoyi Registry?
5. What's the Noc for a foodstuffs seller? I do hope it falls under any of 0,A and B. Note: She sells both bag & Congo.
6. What title do we give her? Trader, foodstuffs seller or business owner? O don't even know.
Please answer accordingly.
Best regards. |

Please enlighten me my online family,
I've been a part of this thread since part 4 and I'm almost through with my Master degree at NOUN. I intended to be the PA initially but the way the cut off point is going up these days, I think my wife will better suit the position of PA. Please help me make this life changing decision. Understated are the our CRS;
I, being the PA
With my age (34), our CRS sits at 445 using 8,7,7,7 for the duo of us. It got upgraded to 457 if I max out all the modules (L 8.5, S 7.5, R 8, W 7.5) which will be a bit tasking. I'm not even sure I can max all out.
Wifey:
She clocked 29 last month. She has Bsc alone but I'm thinking she sits for BCS to upgrade her to 2 or more certificates. Mind you, we never registered for BCS but with what I read, the exam comes up in September. With her 2 or more certificates, we sit comfortably at 465 with both of us having 8,7,7,7. We stand a better chance if she maxes out in any of those modules but my major concerns are ;
1. She's self employed. She sells foodstuffs and Akube clothes. This she has been doing after her nysc. I don't want her to use 1 year nysc experience because we are going to fall short of 25 points i.e 440 which isn't encouraging. How do we get reference letter from her foodstuffs and clothing business?
2. What Noc are we going to categorise her business ?
3. Personally I think with that kind of business, she is more eligible for FST and not FSW.
4. Can we just ask her PPA to give us reference letter for 3 years and state they pay her in cash?
Please answer accordingly.
Thanks all.... |

bigwizzy001: I don't think BCS will increase my point when I already have Masters degree. I think all these exams are for someone with either Bsc or ND to upgrade to 2 or more certificates. Msc is already bigger than 2 or more certificates. No point registering for BCS or other diplomas. Am I making sense?
My e-family, please help me look into this. I want to be sure I'm saying the right thing or with my Masters, can I still enrol for BCS? Why is no one answering me on this ? Please help provide an insightful answer to this. It is to make a decision as I need to increase my crs with the way point is skyrocketing. Thanks... |

With the info I got here last year, I am on the verge of completing my PGD with NOUN. With the way things are, if my wife can get an 8,7,7,7 in LSWR, we would be good to go.
I wish to kindly request for assistance from any kid hearted person, in coaching her between now till September as I am looking at enrolling her for IELTS in September, 2019. I would also appreciate IELTS study materials, if they can be forwarded to my mail box iimuetinyan@gmail.com.

Stencil: She can apply and include you as non-accompanying but mind you spousal sponsorship is a long and sometimes complex process. Your wife would still have to show POF for all three of you. I don't know your situation but if you can apply together and you do a soft landing and go back to continue whatever you're doing and let them stay, that'd be a much better option. Please I've been meaning to ask. If someone does soft landing and comes back to Nigeria, how long must one stay back here before going back to Canada and won't it slow down one's year of becoming a citizen in the long run? |

jmnsimone: I've looked through your profile and it says you're not married yet, why not apply as "single" and then add your fiance post AOR? it's better than learning French or doing masters. Plus, 443 is not a bad score at all so if you're already married or have set a close date then enter the pool with it first before looking for other ways to boost your profile - you never know, you may get ITA with that score (all things being equal, you actually stand a good chance).
Before going for the bigger options, its better to explore and exhaust the smaller, easier ones. Thanks so plentiful for the good heart. Seems you've not gotten my epistle right. The scores for single (440 & 452) that I posted up there are my stance after I complete PGD at Noun which I intend to start this year. I have only Bsc now and when I calculated with that alone, I had 413. That's why I resolved to starting PGD asap to land any of the aforestated scores. Hope I'm about making the right move ? |
