Truth is, no amount is too small or too big 4 a date, what matters is your earnings and the party involved. My problem with the op is the fact that he sees that amount as the best and anything apart from that is Rubbish, now that is a very childish mentality. I don't need to have a budget for something as, petty as going for a date,I only have an expenses threshold,its just about the same as going out to drink with a beer buddy which 2k should also be enough in an average bar or hotel,i only add miscellaneous expenses on projects, family expenses and investments not dates.

You dont go to dates with a sweet tooth expecting some form of gratification,its a date, it's it what it is.

It's about the same as going for a meeting and expecting to be welcome with fried rice and chicken,a date is to discuss and get to know each other if the chemistry is right.

If I ask to take u out for lunch or dinner then that's a different ball game, a date is a date.
