valacious: @dayo kanu, pls kindly stop engaging an internet nigerian citizen like ekt bear in needless argument. Jensinmi' brillant post has answered all. Corruption is serious here, and moreso d purchasing power of an average nigerian cant compare to dat of a same citizen in u.k@u.s. Here they go again!! |

@naijbabe Of course govt must use subsidy money to build speed trains and constant electricity etc so dat ur hyper inflation theory can't fly!!! Already d electricity jinx is now being broken! I had 20hrs of light today!!! we are progressing to development I had in mind when starting dis thread |
@ola one Am in nigeria bro!! Ikeja to be precise! |
Those dat are saying that because d standard of living in nigeria or the minimum wage is lower than d US, so because of that fuel subsidy should remain, in other words we should forever remain beggers in d hands of govt, giving us subsidies like food handout ? i dont think that way guysIs not reasonable that govt should take it's subsidy, use d money to pay me high minimum wage and increase my standard of living, then i will gladly pay any pump price that is profitable to govt or oil companies Whenever somebody complains to me that things are expensive to buy, my usual answer is make more money and u wont complain, its like a guy buying a car and asking of the fuel consumption rate!!! dats a poor guy dat is buying dat car!!! have you seen a rich man asking for the fuel consumption rate while buying a car ?If we keep fuel subsidy we forever will have a begger mentality, and forever remain poor!!! no be d same head d american have dat we have!!! or do nigerians want to be the poor that jesus said in d bible dat we will always have among us ?? Nahh!! not me |
@jensinmi all wat you wrote on your very long and repeative thread is dat corruption is d problem! dat nigeria is not consuming d amount of petrol being declared by the corrupt politicians, dat if the right quantity is declared subsidy wont be necessary ?i have one or two questions: Uk , US and other corruption free countries that are transparent! why is their pump price still high ![]() Since we are willing to pay high prices and get regular supply of electricity and didnt mind paying high tariff charges for telecommunication before competition which is also needed in d downstream sector crashed d prices and is now being enjoyed by all, I think we should deregulated cause your argument is out of fashion!!!! |
ekt_bear:You are right on point!!! |
And Gullible fools like u should stay awake!! |
(CNN) -- Prices at U.S. gas pumps have dropped 12 cents over the past two weeks, according to a survey published Sunday.http://edition.cnn.com/2011/09/25/us/us-gas-prices/ Why are we then furious when govt wants to remove subsidy when petrol sells that much in US and they are even producing more oil than us also have more refineries than us, i heard its even higher in UKsince these advanced oil producing countries pay higher for petrol/gas why shouldn't we ? |
Na wizzzy get d song ? why is he all over the track, with his yoruba accent!!! |
The simply Truth is that there is improvement in power supply, its everywhere, areas that is not experiencing this improvement is isolated problems, either they don't have sufficient transformers or the distribution infrastrcution for those areas haven't been completed, they should just exercise patience and wait for their turn!!! Those that are still doubting this improvement, should just throw that away and be optimistic, we have been pessimistic for long about solving this electricity problem but where has it taken us to? nowhere!!! it doesn't take anything from you to be hopeful that this age long problem is solve once and for all, and i know it is going to be so, cause the signs are everywhere!! if you see the passion that is in sambo and GEJ when they talk about power you will have no doubt that we will soon start taking constant electricity for granted |
