PoliticsRe: Governor Peter Obi Defend His Goverment Over Nasir El Rufai Accusations by billante(m): 7:30pm On Jun 20, 2012
onye_ngbu*:
It will be an effort in futility trying to counter all that Peter Obi put up here. It is such a long post filled with half truths.

Anambra is not a poor state and anyone (especially El Rufai) who says otherwise is an arsehole!

That said, Peter Obi is a big lair! Most of the projects he listed there are either substandard, cheap or uncompleted. most of what he terms bridges are mere culverts. The roads he is counting in hundreds of kilometers are so badly done that they develop potholes even while the contractors are on site! Igbariam - Awkuzur road comes to mind. Patching work commenced on this road less than six months of construction! That was in 2008. Today, that road is almost unpliable. Same goes to most if not all roads that Peter Obi constructed whereas some of the roads done by Jim Nwobodo in the early eighties are still manageable today.

However, one of the things he did and did well was this issue of equipping security men. H e bought hundreds if not thousands of trucks for Police and Army. Infact almost all patrol vehicles used by police and army today in Anambra was bought by Obi.
That is quite commendable even though it didnt stop the men of the underworld. How ngige succeded to bring robbery from a hopeless level to almost zero in just 1 year without all these security improvisations remains a mystery.
Guy pls get ur facts right and stop lying! Obi has done well in providing intra state roads! Most of those ngige roads where even completed by obi! You can travel comfortable on his roads without potholes! I even got lost while travel from onitsha to orlu cause they were so many good roads to follow...meandering tru so many towns in idemili aguata, nnewi plus another LGA which I can't remember all d way to isseke imo state border with anambra.. I have to even stop my car to ask for direction! I didn't meet one single pot hole all d way to imo state border...I don't mean onitsha-owerri FG road.

You can complain about other sectors but if it is anambra intra state roads give it to obi plus ngige!

Kudos to Innoson, that's one Company I'm constantly hoping will do well. Probably going to kick start an industrial revolution like the Hyundais and Samsungs did for South Korea.
Are you daft or what? My point is u can be a successful businessman without packing degrees...infact most of d richest men and successful entrepreneurs are drop out or without higher education from bill gates down to zuckerberg! I even read somewhere on d internet that the first investor in facebook, the owner of paypal is currently grooming some bright young dudes to drop out of college and pursue their individual innovations

E nice: In the last one year, the banking sector alone sacked about 10 thousand workers! Abia state sacked all non indigenes, lagos sacked about a thousand doctors but later recalled them. Total = 1.4 million employed
And none has been employed since thenhuh Don't be a fool
PoliticsRe: FG Created 1.4 Million Jobs In 12 Months – Aganga by billante(m): 12:34pm On Jun 08, 2012
edicolove: Education is supposed to be an advantage but I have realised that it is many peoples disadvantage and undoing.

1. Thousands are receiving SME loans for business everyday of between 50k to 800k(sometimes more) at different levels. If you are not aware and are not benefiting, it is your problem, not Aganga's.

2. If you think that the owner of a keke napep is not making money, again you are the one f00ling yourself. Your education has simply blinded you to opportunities. Fact: a keke napep driver makes more money than a regular bank worker. If you doubt it, go to Ikeja and do a research.

3. SMEs are the building blocks of any nation, not white collar government jobs. So if your idea of Job creation is to see advert from government ministries, I pity you.

4. Anyone who says he has been pushing CVs around for months is either a. Too proud to do available jobs, b. Too greedy to start from somewhere, c. A liar or d. An id1ot! There are job adverts everywhere. So you cannot come here and say there are no jobs. What you could say is those jobs don't fit your desired job expectation or pay and that is a problem everywhere in the world.

5. Like someone pointed above, the government sure is creating jobs but these jobs are far from adequate considering the population explosion Nigeria is experiencing and many other factors.

6. I think what is required right now is the completion of the power privatization because this is the biggest thing plaguing SMEs. If they can fast track the power process, we can have a major lift in terms of job creation.
Well said! Don't mind uninformed nairalanders...looking for who to put blame on...yes nigeria is not a bed of roses but how long will you continue to wallow in that excuse!

Kobojunkie: Abeg, abeg . . make you softly softly blow that nonsense commot for here. What 10 million jobs need to be created per year? ROFLMAO!!!

You never even see evidence say dem even create 10,000 jobs in the last 12 months alone, you dey claim say them suppose to create 10 million. grin grin grin cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy
I didn't say they are suppose to create 10 million! I said about 10 million jobs are needed yearly to reduce unemployment in d country to d barest minimum...beside jobs creation is not d job of FG alone its a combination of private sector and the govt at every level...govt are not even meant to create jobs...they are suppose to create the enabling environment and a vibrant private sector will spring up and create those jobs...govt gave dangote enabling environment and he is churning out jobs like mad!!!
PoliticsRe: FG Created 1.4 Million Jobs In 12 Months – Aganga by billante(m): 9:05am On Jun 08, 2012
The man is speaking with statistics available to him! Yes jobs has been created and still being created just that its not enough..when 10 million jobs are need to be created in a year and the govt create 1.4 you won't say they didn't create jobs! They did it just that its not enough to make much difference because the unemployment rate in d country is staggering! Job portals and newspapers are always advertising

Onlytruth: I don't know whether to cry at the bolded words. My brother, I've learned to ask the right questions, like the ones I'm about to ask.
Pray, tell me, did we Ndigbo wait for "the next phase" of elections before voting Obasanjo, or Yar adua, and now Jonathan FOR THE SAME PROJECT?
Did we Ndigbo wait for "the next phase" before lobbying to have our sons and daughters to get appointed to key federal positions?
Why is it always we Ndigbo that have to wait for "the next phase" which our brother rightly called waiting for the second coming of our Lord?

Nna biko ka anyi na agwa onwe anyi eziokwu! undecided

Why should Enugu international airport be stepped over ahead of Kano for instance, when Enugu handles more traffic than Kano, and would likely increase in traffic after the upgrade?

I honestly hope that you are not a PDP apologist, because you honestly sound like one.

PoliticsRe: Enugu International Airport Re-opens (16-05-12) by billante(m): 7:56am On Jun 02, 2012
PROUD-IGBO:
^^^I think why most people are up in arms about the Enugu Airport issue is b'cos of the half-hearted/cut-and-join approach the federal gov't is adopting towards its construction. Is it that the South East (which has not had any serious federal gov't presence since the late 60's, unlike other regions) is not good enough for serious money to be budgeted once and for all so its only International Airport can be brought up to date? Have you seen the quality of work being done? From the attached pic you can tell the job is being handled by 'local' contractors with no regards to health and safety: no hard hats; no steel-capped boots; no company uniform; the work area has not been isolated from the rest of the building (imagine if a child about to travel with his parents, wanders close by to where they're working and a block falls on his head undecided); no consideration given to customers using the Airport (they could be covered in dust and coughing up cement particles by the time they board their flight).

If truth be told, this is a bloody scam and we've seen right through it. If Jonathan had the guts, he should have given special consideration for this Airport and damn any bad-belle mutterings from jealous bastards who seem to forget so easily that their region/zone has had an unfair advantage for decades and hence should not begrudge Ndigbo a little well deserved attention coming their way. We are a people blessed with huge natural/human resources but have fuckall to show for it; instead our commonwealth has been used to develop other peoples cities and fill the bank accounts of their thieving sons and daughters.

And let me not even start on the glaring injustice of leaving out Enugu in the recent deal Okonjo-Iweala signed with the Chinese for the construction of four new terminlas. You would have thought given the current state of Enugu Airport, and the fact that it's the fourth busiest -when a full years uninterupted operation is considered- that it would have been included in the deal. Next they'll come and tell us that the Enugu one is planned for the second phase (and knowing how things work in this country, that may coincide with the second coming of Christ!!!).

Peeps anger is based on what is in the news, and what we see in available pics. So if you're privy to any new deal/plans for a proper new 'world class' terminal for Enugu, of have pics to show serious construction work going on in the old terminal building, then please share with the rest of us.

How can any Igbo be happy with what we've seen in those pics. Our problem since the 70's is that we accept our lot like timid sheep, expecting that Nigeria will come good for us in the end, and start acting fair; seeing any pathetic/sub-standard federal gov't project in the SE and say we should thank God, that half bread is better than none. Our standards and expectations have been lowered by being part of this contraption.
A competent contractors did the runway and lighting! PW did d runway, another contractor did the lightning...I understand your point about d substandard reconstruction of the local terminal...I think they have two options there, either they totally pull down the old local terminal to build a brand new local/international terminal which will need them closing that airport for the third time again or they reconstruct the old terminal with airport services going on along side d reconstruction which to me won't bring up a world class terminal....maybe maybe, I said maybe they want to reconstruct the old terminal with a low budget manage it for one or two yrs then construct a world class terminal at another space within the airport in d 2nd phase of the nationwide upgrading of airports! Thinking they will do everything at the same time is impossible in nigerian standard! Its how they did the nationwide teaching hospitals upgrading project....let us not put tribalism in dis! As u want ur own to be done first its d same way other tribes want theirs to be done first...its left to d FG to decide d one the will do first and they normal go for first generation ones first.
