The firm was said to have been put into peaceful possession of the property until March 2, 2021, when a writ of attachment issued on February 25, 2021, was executed on the property.
According to the judge, on the said date, the 3rd defendant’s lawyer withdrew his client’s participation in the case following discovery that the proceeds from the sale of the property had been remitted to the account of Bayelsa State Government.

The Bayelsa State Government paid lawyers to work on a case for about 4 years only to later find out that the property they want to use cunning sense to repossess has been sold legitimately and the money paid into the coffers of Bayelsa State Government.

Is Bayelsa State Government not supposed to have checked its records and confirm with EFCC first before heading to court and imposing legal costs on the plaintiff for 4 years! The plaintiff should now approach the court to demand that Bayelsa State Government pay back their legal fees which may even run into millions.

If the Bayelsa State House of Assembly knows its job, it should take up this matter from here and demand that the lawyers Bayelsa State Government paid for this incompetence refund the state government and put measures in place to ensure this doesn't happen again in the future.

This is embarrassing and makes it look like Bayelsa State is being managed by unintelligent and mediocre people. This issue must not end with the Judge's pronouncement at all. So much waste!
