I do hear some people complaine about Nigeria, some even concluded that Nigeria is not good. It may be so or not,but what ever it is,you should be hold responsible because you are nigeria. There is nothing like Nigeria except me and you,it is the summation of our attitudes, behaviour and activities in this geographical location that define our general status and how we perceive our enviroment. I am Nigeria, you are Nigeria,if i and you are not good,Nigeria can't be good because we are Nigerians. To make things work,we must be good to ourselves aswell as others.

THE LEVEL OF INSECURITY AFTER GEJ'S PROMISE OF JUNE

Some months ago, President GEJ promised to end the Bombing and insecurity in Nigeria by June 2012,but the situation in June assumed a higher proportion beyond the previous months ever. It was in June that some churches were bombed in Kaduna which result to some reprisal attacks causing a huge confusion which lead to 24 hours curfew in the State. A another situation occurred in Yobe,Maiduguri and Kano where places where bombed and the security agents were engaged by the faceless Boko Haram group.

During this period, i hold on pass June before making any comment since the president had assured Nigerians that the situation would be over in June, this was done to allow the president concentrate on his strategy together with his team,in fulfilling his determination to end te situation,President GEJ fired the National Security adviser and replaced him with another,an act commended by many. But 3 days after June, Another bomb blast was reported yesterday at the center of the FCt,Sahara Reporters learned that a car bomb has exploded near the Banex Plaza in Abuja, Nigeria. The car exploded in front of Park 'N Shop at Shefiff Plaza, close to Banex Plaza in Wuse 2 Abuja. This is contrary to the promise of Mr president. Though, I am aware that former U.S president George .W. Bush made similar promise after the 911 bomb blast in U.S,where he promised the Americans of capturing the perpetrator in 48hours,but that never happened. The measures and machinery put in place by him later paid off under the present U.S president barrack Obama when it announced the killing of Osama bin Ladin in 2011. I beleive Nigeria too can over come the situation with adequate measures. The U.S reportedly captured Osama after 10 years, but i hope Nigerians would not have to wait for 10 years before we put things right.

I just saw a post about beyonce leaving Jay Z for Dbanj, the story even said she is threatening Jay Z with divorce, what a story. I guess this is as a result of the Oliver twist song were dbanj said he love beyonce.

I suggest that Dbanj should prepare for more ladies leaving their marriage or affairs for him since he actually mentioned many name like Omotola, etc.

PoliticsElrufai Is Good As A Spokes Man by bilms(op): 12:00pm On Jul 03, 2012
i must say that mallam nasir elrufai is trying to steal our hearts, especially that of my northern brothers and sisters inform of propaganda about the govt on the boko haram issue. Though, some of his claims are valid, but others are nothing than a mere propaganda. Just like rubben abati spit trash in favor of govt, elrufai spit the same in some cases against it. Pls,let know one ever talk about elrufai as president,he may be good as a spokesman to spit anything, meaniful or meaningless.

I did admit that elrufai has so far given some valid points to ponder on,,but others are nothing than a mere political propaganda to attract the heart of the people to gain political point. my friend sadiq said elrufai stated clearly that he his not seeking election, but how true is that? you and i know that none of this politicians are truthful..

Elrufai is a regular commentator on social media, example of his commentary is below as reported,Malam Nasir El-Rufai has accused the Igbo Christians as been responsible for the bombings in the North, especially the Mosques.
Malam El-Rufai in his recent twitter post, said that an Igbo man was arrested for trying to bomb a mosque in ...Niger state over the week.
He accused the Igbos in his earlier facebook post, for been behind boko haram's attack in the North. The Niger state Police command refuted this monstrous allegation and described it as false and diversionary. The intended bomber was later identified as a Kanuri man from Borno state....My problem with elrufai is not about the claim neither is it about the refutation by the police, but the generalization of such by he elrufai...

Ofuks,
@OP and friends:
The CBN policy that recipients of money transfers to Nigeria through WUMT & MONEYGRAM must have bank accounts is to enable the authorities follow the trail of yahoo-yahoo guys, terrorists and like minded folks who are hell bent on destroying the image of this country.

http://www.cenbank.org/419/

i so much appreciate your contribution, but i am not against the CBN policy. Such policy is suppose to be well communicated to the public before and after its implementation. If i had known that i can't cash else where,i wont be going from one bank to the other, and secondly, even GTB knew the policy, but directed me to UBA. why?

From what happened,if the policy is meant to prevent fraud, you can see it has failed. if i am a fraud,i have received my money.. do you think a fraud would complain for receiving his money in this manner since what happen actually mean the yahoo yahoo, terrorist can receive their money?

@OP: I am embarrased that you brought this here...

Pls don't, it was done in good faith to educate the public about what is happening so that we all can join hand to clean Nigeria off this mess.

To the benefit of those genuine readers, is shall answer the questions below

quoting pukkah..
Do you expect discerning people to swallow your story hook, line and sinker? Expect your story to be x-rayed.

Do you mean xraying the post is calling me a fraudster, person of low integrity as your colleague as done? is this how you determine the truth in a claim?

I've already provided a link to prove that GTBank offers Moneygram services. See the one for Ecobank: http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/moneygram-rewards-scholarship-scheme-beneficiaries/

The link you provided may be right, but pls tell the world, what do i do when the bank branch i went said no,we don't cash money gram? would i insist they do and sit in their bank?

Which GTBank and Ecobank branches did you go? Are you willing to disclose this information so that we can turn the heat on them as to why you were unjustly denied of service? You see, we should be fair to all. You don't expect to come here and make a sweeping, unsubstantiated and damaging allegation against a whole group of people and yet expect to be patted on the back.

If this was your first question, how difficult would be to provide the branch location..any way, the branch of the GTB is in Taiwo,Ilorin. besides ostrich and the Eco bank is located at taiwo too, opposite owoniboys.

Of course I've not been trying to excuse the so-called banker at UBA but he was not more guilty than yourself.

Pls cut it, he was not more guilty than myself.. what a conclusion. Just like saying the 419 is not more guilty than the duped person since he gave him the money right?

You were in a hurry and could not comply with the requirements, for whatever reasons, so you agreed to pay him 10% because he offered you a service.

What requirement are you talking about? is it the requirement that GTB and ECo said they dont cash money gram or the requirement that i was directed from GTB to UBA? what requirement are you talking about. If you actually read the post as you claim, you would read where i stated what discuss we had..he asked if i had an account and i said no,he asked that i should go to my bank and i told him i was directed from there to come here..he then said its difficult to cash without a bank account which i asked why..he didn't state why, just said it is difficult, but sit let me get the teller. it was after filling the stuff that he said i would pay him some thing which i didn't respond to.

He looked for a way for you to meet the requirement. He is unscrupulous but you can't also be exonerated on the basis of 'urgency' reason. You're also guilty. If this case goes to court, do you think both of you would not be prosecuted?

I do not know when you turn a prosecutors who convict a duped person for giving the fraudster your money...it was on record that i have been to 4 banks earlier,2 are not my bank, and 2 are mine, but all didn't pay me. b4 i was directed to the 5th bank UBA..even the banker asked and i told him, so he knew i had been to some other places including where i had a accounts without success.

Again, just out of curiousity, how much is this 'small' amount of money that was needed for something so urgent that could not wait yet you were willing to let go 10% out of; moreover, the 'small' amount of money could not be taken from either or both of your accounts in GTBank and Ecobank?

The question you failed to answer by yourself b4 asking this question is, why do the money need to be sent if i can withdraw the needed amount from my account to do what was needed to be done?

POSTER,.MY OPINION IS THIS,.THAT YOU ARE A PERSON OF LOW INTERGRITY, POSSIBLY A FRAUDATER COS IF INDEED THIS WIRED MONEY WAS YOUR'S, THE SAME WAY YOU COMPLAINED TO THE BANKS OVER ATM DISPENSE ERRORS,WOULD HAVE BEEN THE SAME WAY U SHOULD HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE MANAGER OF THIS BRANCH WHERE YOU CASHED THIS TRANFER.
I wonder how some people got a bank Job....after complaining to the bank manager about the atm error, did i get the refund as noted by the post? NO..why bother talk to a manager on the transfer issue?and yet you concluded that i am of low integrity, possibly a fraudster..lol...

FROM MY EXPERIENCE AS A BANKER, I KNOW THAT INDEED, SOME BANKERS ARE OF QUESTIONABLE CHARACTER AND SUCH PEOPLE USUALLY PREY ON CONMEN LIKE YOU WHO DIVERT OTHER PEOPLES' TRANSFERS.
Without question,it is clear that you are one of those banker who cash fraudulent money for personal gain. But your days are numbered..trust me.

SO AM VERY SURE YOU HAVENT BEEN TOTALLY OPEN OVER WHAT TRANSPIRED BETWEEN YOU AND THE CASHIER..I'M ALSO VERY SURE HE SAW THROUGH YOU AND HAVING SENCED THAT THIS TRANSACTION WAS A "JOB" HE THEN DECIDED TO CASH IN.

This set of people in the banks are worst for Nigeria's image. But i assure you of making people like you scape goat for others to learn

To those who hypocritically accused me of generalizing to discredit this post, here is it.
quote
What happened today is so worst, its not a stolen money like that of ATM machine which usually happened due to error or automatic deduction which is termed a charge on some things not known, it is a first hand robbery. The same bankers would join their voice in condemning Farouk Lawal for taking bribe, they would say all sort of thing about police, they would even accuse NEPA of exploiting us,but what they do is far worst than all this entities joined together. Bankers are corrupt than the police, believe it or not, they are thieves and criminals with the exemption of the genuine bankers who uphold their integrity in Banking and observe the best practices.

I clearly made exemption of those genuine bankers.

PoliticsIf U Are So African, Y Do U Speak And Write In English And Use Their Inventions? by bilms(op): 12:36pm On Jul 01, 2012
If you are so African, why do you speak and write in English and use their inventions? I've been asked.

Well, I've been asked these rather dumb questions and mind you I choose my words carefully.

But I'll just share a response I've had before and add a few lines.
...
1. On Language:

"When the chips are down, religious brigade will use any excuse no matter how stupid to try and save face. This is a common one: Many say why do I speak their language. To which I respond that it's simply a lingua franca. If I spoke Yoruba, which I speak fluently btw, just the Yoruba folks and those that might have learnt it will understand, that limits my audience. If I choose Igbo same thing and even Yoruba folks might complain as to why I'm speaking the Igbo man's language and not mine. So when a lingua franca is chosen to address all and sundry, African and non African, they still find that hard to comprehend!

But an Igbo man after asking this question to which I responded similarly to the above statement, couldn't say anything more, went to one of my posts and commented in Igbo. Which I do appreciate, but would have appreciated more if the same religious Igbo man followed gods that spoke Igbo and not Hebrew! He has left his Igbo speaking gods and tagged along with the foreigners and preaching to us about some fallacy! WHAT HYPOCRISY!" - Teekay Akin

2. On ''their'' inventions:

Like it's widely reported in all aspects of life - humanity and civilisation started in Africa.
Africa is the foundation on which every aspect of humanity got it's flourishing.

So there is nothing like ''their'' inventions!

I'll go from this other angle:
Show me one so called invention that hasn't got Africa in it - from intelligence, to foundation, to resources, to labour etc. Show me one and I'll happily throw that away!

Now also tell that to the white man or Arab you are enslaved to and let's wee what they are left with!

Simple as!

http://www.olufamous.com/2012/06/gov-oshiomhole-is-lying-says-nigeria.html
GOV. OSHIOMHOLE IS LYING; Says Nigeria Police

The Nigeria Police Force on Friday debunked allegations by Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State that the PDP was behind the attack on his convoy during a campaign rally on Thursday.

The Oshiomhole administration, through the state's Commissioner for Information, Louis Odion, had issues a statement claiming that the governor was attacked at Usen in Ovia South-West Local Government Area by suspected assassins who shot at the vehicles in the convoy, and had pointed accusing fingers at the PDP.

In a counter reaction, the PDP immediately issued a statement dismissing the allegation as cheap blackmail. The PDP said Oshiomhole's convoy was ambushed by protesting students, and accused the governor's security aides of killing some of the armless students.

But giving the security intelligence of the situation, Olufamous.com gathered that the State Police Command has accused the Governor of being economical with the truth. In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Anthony Airhuoyo, the command said: "On Thursday, the governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, went on a campaign tour to Usen Town in Ovia South West Area of Edo State. The governor, while on his way to the campaign venue, met the students of the Institute of Technology and Management, Usen, and promised to address them on his way back.

"After the campaign, at about 6.15pm, the governor decided to address them on a later date as it was already getting late. But the students barricaded the highway at the outskirts of the town and compelled the governor to visit their institution (as earlier promised)."

The police also added that nobody was killed in the ensuing clash between the Governor Oshiomhole's security aides and the students.

BusinessRe: Bankers Are Frauds! by bilms(op): 9:21am On Jun 29, 2012
Back to the major issue.

From the first post, i made it clear how urgent the fund was

It all happened this morning,i got a money gram to cash sent from the UK for an urgent assignment. For the urgency of this cash,

Because of the urgency
i didn't want to go to my bank because it is far away,, for this reason,i decided to branch the nearest bank ETB,

At ETB
when i got there,i was made to understand they don't cash money gram.

I went to the next bank closeby

the next bank close to it was spring bank,i went in and asked if they cash money gram and they said yes,but i was asked if i have an account with the bank which i answered no,for his reason, they made me realize they can't cash the money unless i have an account with them. It was at Spring Bank (the second bank i went) that i realized i have to go to my bank.

This automatically make me realized i can't help but go to my bank.

TO MY BANK OCEANIC NOW ECOBANK

Straight to Oceanic bank now Ecobank, they told me they don't cash money gram too,..Someone up there said Ecobank do cash Moneygram and that he cashed some months ago,you may be right, but how was i to insist that a bank Cash Money Gram when the staffs said they don't? It is my bank for over 5 years and they said they don't, what can i do?

After Ecobank (My Bank 1)

i quickly head to my other bank GTB (bank 2) and they said they don't cash it too...this is the 4th bank i have been to,2 not my bank and the other 2 my bank where i had account, but both said they don't cash moneygram. I made it clear on the post that i was angry and asked why the bank won't be cashing moneygram,At this point, i was so depressed, considering all this hustle.
How on earth won't you be cashing money gram i questioned and i was calmed and told to go to UBA bank.
...It was one of the staffs that calmed me down and actually gave me the UBA bank as a place where i can cash the fund.

How on earth didn't you guys read this before saying i didn't want to go to my bank? i was trying to go thru the back door? i wanted to bit the rules etc? was it that you didn't read it or u intentionally ignored it?...

I accept critical assessment of the post and reasonable question about it,but not such that i was seeing when all you were asking is already part of the first post.

Upon reaching the UBA,i meet the guy at the Moneygram counter and i told him i want to cash money gram,he asked if i have an account with them and i replied no,he then said it would be some how cashing without account. I asked why must i have an account to cash money gram in a bank,it is suppose to be a money transfer which can be cashed anywhere,he said yes,but it is some times difficult.

He said i should go to my bank or i would pay him something to do it,i said my bank don't cash moneygram and i was directed from there to come here.
..This was my discussion with him,he knew i had been to my bank and could n't cash it because i was actually directed from there to come to UBA.. Remember, i have been previously been to 4 banks without success and i made it clear that the money was needed urgently. I knew that leaving UBA would mean i won't cash it and the fund was needed urgently for an assignment.

Some one did ask a very reasonable question which i noted and appreciated,he asked why i didn't insist, but i was in hurry because any delay would mean loosing what the money was meant to be used for,and the money if gotten later would no longer be valued. Another person asked why i patted with 10% since it was meant for an urgent assignment,i also appreciate this question,in fact, this was the kind of question i was expecting before they started all that panapana..As you know, the money is needed urgently, taken 10% from it mean having 90%,business wise,if you pay 90% of the supposed fee would guarantee you what you needed,i do not think it is wise of me to allow such situation prevent the usage of the money. In fact i would have not taken it if i was to be the sole person involved, but i know doing that would mean something that would hurt others who needed what the money was needed for. I had to employ the scope of the scale of preference, chose the most important and urgently needed item.

Thanks you all

I am very sorry that it took me this long to reply.

I am aware that there are many bankers, brothers and sisters of bankers, aswell as friends of bankers on nl that would do anything to discredit a post such as mine, but don't worry, you can't intimidate me with your ranting and baseless accusation.

Most questions being asked by these set of people have already been answered on the first post, but they ignored it willingly or unwillingly and make it seems like it was incorrect, incomplete or incredible. This lead some people to even accuse me of getting the funds from yahoo yahoo or all sort of hidden deals. ok,Lets assume the fund is gotten from a bad deal as you accuse, you, your brother or sister in the banking job are helpers to fraud since they even accept bribe from a hidden deal. Are they helping the bank, the CBN which set up the rules or Nigeria as a country? Instead of us all to condemn what is bad,we justify it because your peeps are involved. Another poster i assume is a banker accuse me trying to add to Nigeria's negative image with such post, but he was wrong, i am only trying to help change that negative image by exposing the bad things to be corrected. as i noted earlier,i am not just posting here, but contacting appropriate authorities to fix this. If a post such as this had been posted on nl,many would have been aware of such and can guide against it, this is the essence of the post.
