we would continue to mention the marginalized people, yet there would be no solution to the marginalization. I think we should all learn to understand that we are all marginalized by the ruling class in our various locations, so lets stand together and fight for a common goal. POSITIVE CHANGE and development |
so do you think Nigeria has any problem? No..any time Nigerians stand up against it,it would be over. |
still waiting? its a survey. |

THE POSITIVE SIDE OF NIGERIA'S PROBLEM Nigeria's problem is so empty like the giant Goliath,it only takes a small mighty Nigerian David's to step in and do the right thing for our success. Abdul AOH Do you allow yourself to be angered because of the thought that Nigeria and we the citizens have the biggest problem in the world? Remember, if you deal with problems in anger, it could be destructive and harmful to your personal life. Nigeria is not working and I wish i can go somewhere else, why is every thing like this? we have all we need to make a good country, but everything seems not working. We are the worst country, even smaller nations are doing fine,i think Lord lugard caused the problem by amalgamating us and spliting would be the best option. These and many more questions and queries have been expressed by people on several times, but According to Ralph Marston,With every ending comes also a new beginning. With every disappointment comes a new opportunity for success. With every mistake comes a new and valuable lesson to be learned. With every setback comes a new position from which to move forward. With every frustration comes the energy to move to a higher level of achievement. With every challenge comes a new strategy for taking action. With every time of darkness comes the chance to make a real difference by shining your own special light. With every sadness comes a deeper appreciation for the joys that life can hold. With every difficulty comes a new level of strength to be gained. With every loss comes an increased determination to win. Though life has many pitfalls and problems, there is a positive side to every one of them. Choose to see and live that positive reality, and no problem will be a problem for long. This i believe is a way to confront the several challenges we face in our dear nation,Nigeria. Without overcoming the challenges, there is no way to achieving success. Yes we have challenges to overcome in Nigeria, but the only way to overcome it, is by looking at the positive side of Nigeria's problem. If all you see is negative, you can not come out with a positive solution, this is why we must be sincere in our pursuit for a fair, just and equal state. We must be accountable and responsible - Don't blame the problems we all encounter on other people, don't always believe that you are always right. Stand for your right - You can come clean to clear the problem but is after evaluating the good side and bad side properly without prejudice and sentiments. How many times have you been disappointed by the Nigerian leaders and the country itself? I guess it all happen usually everyday, what positive side can we see is in our problems? The fact that it has made us know what is wrong and wright is a gain,it has helped us to know the bad side of a wrong choice and if we eventually overcome this problem together,we would have no worries to manage our glory. Do you always bring up the small problem like a germ to the most biggest issue in the world or you just sees the big problem like a small matter for you? Nigeria's problem is so empty like the giant Goliath,it only takes a small mighty Nigerian David's to step in and do the right thing for our success. |

WHO ARE THE MARGINALIZED PEOPLE IN NIGERIA? I am always worried when some group, region or tribe claim to be marginalized people in Nigeria. The South which consist of South west,South east and south south usually claim to be the marginalized and so is the North, which consist of North west,North east and the North central, each stating their reasons which is worth pausing for mediation. Yoruba,Hausa,Igbo, etc have claimed to be marginalized at one point or the other and even at this present dispensation, the Yoruba people didn't occupy any top position in Nigeria. This is made me to ask the question, who are the marginalized people in Nigeria? From the definition, Marginalize is defined as to be relegated to an unimportant or powerless position within a society or group. It could also be defined as to relegate or confine to a lower or outer limit or edge, as of social standing. This means that if one is being marginalized, you will be denied the right to express on important issues, receive benefits and contribute to the society, but i do not see any region in Nigeria that is affected in such manner, the worst is that, you are not accorded with what you are supposed to be accorded at a time and every region in Nigeria has experienced this in my opinion, though some are more affected than the other. There are people who actively and constantly participate in virtually every government in Nigeria from every region, they are not denied right to express, receive benefits and contribute and in fact, they aid the government in power to achieve its aims and objectives from our various groups in Nigeria. How can a region claim to be marginalized when its people are in the government aiding it and receiving benefits? In reality, every region of Nigeria is marginalized in one way or the other and all at the same time can not claim to be marginalized because people from their region are part of the respective governments. The real marginalized people in Nigeria are the people of Nigeria, those who are denied access to express without being crushed, they are denied access to any benefit in their country,no light,no road,no food and no care nothing, these set of people exists in every part of Nigeria, both as Muslims and Christians even the traditional believers, they are the real marginalized people in Nigeria. Another set of marginalized people in Nigeria are the intellectually marginalized people who had knowledge, skills and talent to display to solve various challenges in the country, but are denied the mean of expression and showcasing their knowledge due to lack of right avenue, equipment and support. We must therefore work collectively to ensure that the marginalized are given what is due. So who are the marginalized people who deserve what is due? we are. |
THE RIGHT RESPONSE TO OBSTACLES I am not a Christian, but i am aware that the right response to obstacles have been illustrated in the bible for the Christians to emulate, but i wonder why most Christians do not learn this attitude to help Nigeria. The right response to obstacle in the bible is the giant Goliath who confronted and intimidated the armies of Israel including the brothers of a young shepherd named David, just as we have various challenges that confronted our dear nation. David brothers chosed not to do anything about the obstacles before them, but David did. The brothers looked at the obstacle and realized it was too big to be confronted, others feel it was a lost battle before the beginning, but David looked at it and figured it was too big an opportunity to miss-John Mason and a n opportunity to end the obstacle once and for all. He confronted the so called giant obstacle, but the so called giant eventually looked to easy to defeat. If you do not defeat problems right here and now, they will chase you and hound you and your unborn children forever. Stand up and Join the Nigerian Project,It is Possible. |

The phrase,Nigeria go better has been in existence for long and i can't figure out where it emancipated from, but i subscribe to it, that yes,Nigeria go better. Saying Nigeria go better is like saying you have hope and a good future is awaiting you,but that good future would only be realized if you do what you are supposed to do to guarantee the good future. According to ...a Yoruba Musician,Dr.King Saheed Osupa in one of his Music, titled Nigeria go better, he said: Nigeria go better,E go better, that is what they say e go better. E go better after 52 years of existence,E go better, till we got our Independence E go better,is it after 100 years that E go better? E go better when will it be ? Igbo's are saying E go better,Ogadinma (E go better) Hausa's said E go better,Zai yi chao,(E go better) Yoruba's also said E go better,on bo wa da ,(E go better) Since i was born, that's when they used to say E go better, till i became a father, they are still saying e go better,is it till i become a grand father? But even if we all become grand fathers,it will not be better unless we do better. So i ask, Can Nigeria be better? To answer this question,we need to know one thing for sure, yes,NIGERIA GO BETTER. But Nigeria no go better if we did not do what would make it better. To all those people like the musician who are asking when will Nigeria be better,i challenge you to mention what we have done to deserve a better Nigeria,If we have not done any better,do we deserve a better Nigeria?. We have not stopped cheating ourselves individually,we haven't stopped oppressing each other,we didn't Stop lying to each other and we have continue to deceive each other. How then would Nigeria be better? When we say Nigeria Go better,We must do the work of betting it better. If we say i want to pass the exam,we must do the study of passing the exam,we can't be saying i want to pass the exam then spend our time doing nothing. We cant continue to blame the Cabals,We cant continue to blame the leaders,we cant continue to condemn the north and south,we can't continue to be tribalists, ethnicist, regionalists etc. we must work better to ensure say Nigeria better. We can't take the blame of our beginning, but we must take the blame for our end. |

ALMAJIRI: THE MISUNDERSTOOD PHENOMENA 1 By Engr. Abubakar Sani Kazaure, Department of Civil Engineering, KADPOLY The word "Almajiri" originated from the Arabic word "Almuhajir - meaning the Migrant" rooted from "Hijrah - Migration". ... The earlier record of Migration in history backed from the migration of Abraham (PBUH), Jacob's family to Cairo, Moses (PBUH) from Cairo, Jesus(PBUH), Muhammad (PBUH) to Medina, migration of Jews to Jerusalem and many others after them. Reasons for migration from one place to another may be as a result of Wars and hostilities (as in the case of Abraham, Jesus and Muhammad Peace be upon them) other reasons may be search for knowledge/Studies, Business/Trade opportunities, etc. Almuhajir are usually supported with accomodation, feeding, training, Language teaching and how to familiarize with the new environment, etc by the Hosts or Helpers referred to "ANSAR in Arabic like the people of Medina". Such roles were played in the case of Almijiri in the North by the majority of the volunteers among the residents of Ancient cities like Borno, Kano, Katsina, Zaria, Bauchi among others. Among the volunteers some provided the services free of charge while others by Barter arrangements to assist in farms cultivation during the wet season (to be paid after harvest with farm produce), business assistance in conveying goods to and from markets popularly known as "DAKO" in Hausa Language, Teaching small childrens, assisting their wives in home keeping jobs after school, Trade of locally produced goods and implements especially in free days (Thursdays, Fidays and Market days). These arrangements were on ground since before the coming of the Colonial Masters and were effective without necessitating the students going out for begging. With abject poverty among people, increased polpulation, Forceful introduction of western Education (BOKO) to replace the former system by the leaders, negligence in the part of Government, death of major Hosts/Helpers and volunteers contributed to the current sitution. the post also recognize the fact without her,the exploitation is taking place, but with her in my opinion as the head,it would become more easier in the new age. |
I AM A NIGERIAN I am a Yoruba by tribe, which means that i am a southerner from the south west. A Hausa by birth in the north west, that also mean i am a Northerner. An Igbo by the union of Nigeria, which means that i am in unity with the east, an Ijaw by friendship, which means i am in peace with the south and a Nigerian by country which mean we are one. Italian would say,Namaste, which means we are one,but the south Africans say,Ubumtu..I am because we are. I am a Muslim by religion,a christian by respect. I am a black man from the green land, where we have the good people from the great nation. The best in Nigeria is the best in the world,I am a Nigerian. Abdul AOH |
