OGBENI RAUF AREGBESOLA: Res Ipsa Loquitor by Kayode Ajulo on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 12:41pm · WITHOUT PREJUDICE, THIS LETTER BY E. M. A. IS A SIMPLE REQUEST AND BY OUR ANTECEDENTS IT IS DEVOID OF POLITICS AS WE HOLD IT TO BE A TRUE EVIDENCE THAT NOTHING STOPS ANY INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP TO MAKE SUCH DEMAND ON A PUBLIC OFFICER BE IT GOODLUCK JONATHAN, RAJI FASHOLA, GODSWILL AKPABIO, OLUSEGUN MIMIKO AND EVEN BARRACK OBAMA ONCE ANY OF THEM EXHIBITS ANY SYMPTOM INSANITY: EMA EGALITARIAN MISSION AFRICA MISSION ÉGALITAIRE AFRIQUE, المساواة بعثة أفريقيا IGUALITÁRIA MISSÃO ÁFRICA, IGUALITARIO MISIÓN DE ÁFRICA, Usawa MISSION AFRIKA ***** Castle of Law, No. 19, Kumasi Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja-Nigeria E-Mail: egalitarianafrica@gmail.com +234(0)803 315 4349 +447425299695 Our Ref.: 124/GOV/AS/12 16th March, 2012 The Personal Physician of the Governor of Osun State, Osun State Government House Clinic Okefia-Oshogbo, Osun State. Dear Sir, REQUEST FOR MEDICAL REPORTS OF H. E. RAUF AREGBESOLA (THE GOVERNOR OF OSUN STATE) FROM 27TH NOV. 2010 - DATE We hereby in pursuant to the provision of Section 2 (2) of Freedom of Information Act 2011 LFN request for Medical Report of the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Rauf Aregbesola from 27th November 2010 till date. We are non-profit making organisation established to maintain and promote good governance, equal opportunities, rule of law and sustenance of democracy in Africa; we are as such incorporated in Nigeria’s corpus juris under the name and style, The Incorporated Trustees of Egalitarian Mission, Africa. In ensuring good governance, accountability and adherence to the rule of law among other constituted missions, we are not unaware of vituperative utterances and ostensibly apprehensive, disordered, abrasive, delirious, alienated actions of H. E. Rauf Aregbesola, which has became more manifest since his ascendancy as Governor of Osun State. As part of our mandate, we are concerned and felt compelled in the spirit of respect for the Nigerian Constitutional provisions, particularly, Section 182(1) (c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) disqualifying any person who has been adjudged a lunatic or declared to be of unsound mind from holding the exalted office in any State in Nigeria. Sequel to the swearing-in of H. E. Rauf Aregbesola on 27th November, 2010 as Osun State Governor, the following instances of the actions of the Governor call to question the required level of sanity and good judgment expected of the holder of such an exalted office: 1. On 20th February, 2011 H. E. Rauf Aregbesola at a book launch at Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Abuja threw caution and decorum to the winds to launch an unprovoked attack on the person and office of the President of Nigeria to the embarrassment of dignitaries present, this display of irrational outburst was unabated despite the explanation of the Nigerian Minister of Labour & Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu on the context in which the President used the word; RASCALS. 1. On the 27th October, 2011 at Oshogbo, H. E. Rauf Aregbesola once again threw decorum to the winds and displayed want of good judgment and reason and use one of his subordinates to attack and disparage the person of the Vice President of Nigeria, Arch. Namadi Sambo at the opening of Federal High Court Complex. 1. On 7th March 2012, H. E. Rauf Aregbesola despite concerted attempts to call him to order by H. E. Kayode Fayemi, H. E. Ibikunle Amosun, Gen. Alani Akinrinade, Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole, Dr. Federick Fasehun, Mr. Fola Adeola, and other eminent Yoruba leaders in attendance, launched a worst form of attack which is out of control and want of reason, against a colleague Governor from the same zone. 1. That H. E. Rauf Aregbesola, by several reports or/and on several occasions displayed irascible, quick-tempered and impetuous actions at several fora including, during the esteemed National Executive Council’s meetings at Aso Villa, Abuja which by implication may lead to untoward consequence in Nigeria. It is our independent opinion that these actions of the Governor run contrary to the acceptable behavior of the person of his office particularly when viewed against the background of the Yoruba nation where the notion of Omoluabi is held in high esteem. It is in view of the above and being conscious of the provisions of Section 2(2) of the Nigerian’s Freedom of Information Act, that we demand for the certified true copy of the medical report of His Excellency between the period specified for the purpose of giving consideration to the provision of Section 182 (1) (c) and Section 189 of the 1999 Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). Please note that failure to furnish us with the above report within 7 (seven) days, shall compel us to embark on any approach permissible under Nigerian’s law, including approaching the court to compel you to do same. We believe that you shall give this request the prompt attention it requires. Accept, please, our warmest regards. Thank you. Yours faithfully, For: EGALITARIAN MISSION AFRICA |
@Jakumo, common, this that would suit GEJ better.. lol |
POVERTY IN THE MIDST OF PLENTY Many finds it had to understand why Nigeria would be this poor despite the abundant resources, knowledge and man power. Many countries of the world didn't have half of what we have and they are doing so well above us. How then do we explain the inability of our leaders to effectively manage our natural and human resources to the benefit of Nigerians and the world. This is my opinion boils down to management, leadership and understanding. Using a football team as an example, A big team with abundant talents is more difficult to manage than a smaller team with less choice to select from. In a football team with less talents, the manager who serves as the leader just pick from the little options he had and that's it. Since everyone is just trying to be recognized, the level of threat, heat and pressure he receive is less, the team's management is hoping for good results but not at all cost. The team can with its little resources achieve the little it can and in some cases achieve a great success which usually come once in a while. But in a big team with established stars, big players and management. Every player wants to play, which puts the manager in the middle of two lions, any choice he made would be questioned,he would be under constant pressure and any side he didn't choose would be angry and the management is just waiting to fire an under performing manager. If he make the wrong choice, the entire team would be down, the side he fielded would be criticized and so on. This situation can be compared to the Nigerian situation, a giant with abundant talents and resources, everyone is struggling to be relevant, any choice of the leader is questioned,he would want to maintain a balance and ensure everyone is satisfied, but it has always end up not satisfying anyone. Lack of a principled leadership is one way that brought us to this stage, wanting to satisfy everyone is another question which boil down to management and the lack of clear understanding of the situation and what to do is another issue. Nigeria, a country of over 160million is not a football team, with over 320 ethnic groups and languages. Poverty in the midst of plenty can not be justified in anyway, our leaders must learn to be principled, take reasonable, well researched and decisive decision. the citizens must be well briefed and their assistance must be sorted at all times, they must be allowed to understand the working process so as not to demand more than the government can deliver. A leader who wishes to lead such a country must have a clear entry and strategic goal to achieve and how to achieve it. |

HUMAN RIGHT CLAIM,MYTH OR REALITY? The first page of the Universal Human Right Declaration b y the United Nation states that: We are born free and equal in dignity and right, this means that we all possess certain rights that can not be denied. Every person is entitled to these rights purely because they are human and they can not be forfeited. This entails that they cannot be taken away, hence human right. But the Tanzanian constitutional lawyer Issa Savinjji believe s that human right are fought for, they are not part of you until you fight for them and acquire it. In my opinion, how can a right said to be yours since you need to fight to acquire it? How can this right be guaranteed when the primary body that should protect it is the same violating it? nicey1d, Is Eko Atlantic city the measure of good government? lol No one of the fashola guys could mention any significant benefit the masses had enjoyed in his 5 years rule yet, they rain praises.. common guys.... This is a bad way to celebrate a successful govt....the simple question in this post is for anyone to mention any significant benefit of the lagos masses from the govt, but there was none and you still say he his working.. please show me the work. |
if so, we all need to change |
that one na big question oo |
@bolayei, your story is touching and inspiring, but the issue is not about lagos being bad or not, what am concerned about is the benefit of the masses. Yes fashola is the governor not LG chairman, but am sure you are ware that governor's hold joint account with LG chairman and LG don't receive any dime. only the governor use the funds at will. A governor governor cant be judge based on the streetlight or stuffs like that, but the citizens which the masses occupy close to 80% of. my question is, considering the amount Lagos earn, can you rate him a s a good governor? and what exactly has the masses enjoyed from the govt. |
lol |
lol |
The question is yet to be answered still.. The question is very simple, please mention what exactly the lagos masses had enjoyed from the government in your opinion since most of you claimed the government has worked enough to deserve the praises.. so, tell us exactly what the masses had enjoyed from the govt... Many are quick to attack people yet, they can't attack the question with simple answer. |

THE FAILURE OF AFRICAN/NIGERIAN MILITARY AND POLITICS Many were surprised when soldiers were pushed to every part of Lagos to prevent the citizens from exercising their civil rights,Many where wondering why the police would attack the occupy Nigerian Movement in the middle of the night in Abuja,Kano and other places where they did,Many can't figure out why the police where shooting and killing innocent citizens because they made their position known by peacefully protesting in Nigeria and other parts of Africa, we don't even know why the Nigerian police and other African countries are so harsh, uncivil, unprofessional and usually treat the citizens inhumanly, extorting funds and killing innocent citizens because of N20 Fellow brothers and sisters, Do not expect much protection from African/Nigerian Armies,do not be surprise when the police brutalized or violate the citizens,do not be shock when the soldiers are thrown on the street to prevent the citizens from exercising their rights, because they were created for that purpose and that alone they shall head until we make the change. The failure of Africa/Nigerian military, according to Luckham is that, African/Nigerian army were first mercenary army to the colonist and slave masters, they were created, organized and trained under colonial tutelage. They where created by colonial powers and used to establish their rules in Africa by violating, exploiting and oppressing. They also existed as a visible demonstration to the populace of the coercion which was the ultimate basic colonial rule and till date, our past and present leaders maintain the colonial status to function in the same manners they where created and used by the colonists. African/Nigerian armies had very little concern with the defence of the state or protection of the people, upholding the status quo is the prime concern of our armies and that is exactly what they do. But in the course of doing that, the army/police make use of that avenue to do their personal wish which is still part of their internal mandate besides the public laws. This explains the reason why no police officer is adequately punished for abusing the citizens. Even if the people involved are powerful, they just do one or two prosecution to appease the public noise, but truly, no adequate punishment would be applied in 98% of such cases. Most top military officers throughout Africa were trained by Europeans and Americans who colonized us,most of the arms we use for combat are either bought from them or given to us as aids. It is quit easy for them to seek and establish government which will collaborate with them in exploiting the African Masses. This explains the various coups that took place in Africa/Nigeria,the imperialist work with the military men to take over government that has failed to listen or do their bidding as they demanded. HOW THEY DO IT Local allies, not agents are the key to the continuous foreign influence in Africa and even the local allies can be regarded as agents both in politics and military. Imperialists usually seek for those social forces, institutions and individuals whose long and short time interest would place them on its side, they would promote those people or group committed to imperialism directly, providing traitors who have not consistently and clearly taking anti imperialist position and who it is therefore hoped, will stand in the way of the anti west, anti imperialist forces in a country. It is with all these in mind that the west strives to influence the leading personnel in African military and politics. We must therefore understand how military, politics and foreign countries influence our activities before we can successfully transform from this state(Nigeria/Africa). Abdul AOH |
To add to my submission,Good governance is not about textbooks, kwara state has been giving free textbook since 2004 as i am aware, former osun state govt give free books, even free meal to students everyday and i think the current govt is also doing it. The measure of governance should be based on How much does the gvt have and how did it spend it,the policy it implemented, how many percentage benefited and how many is affected,is the govt working for the poor or rich? ..that is the measure of good govt in my opinion. So please, can you mention how the lagos masses benefited from the govt? |
With due respect to the lagos state government and those who thinks they have done enough to deserve all the praises.. I used to live in Lagos in between 2003-2005,ogudu in ojota to be precise. i left lagos in 2005 which means that i know the situation b4 fashola came on board and the situation now. I lived in ilorin from 2000 till 2003 b4 i move to lagos,i know what kwara looked like then and now. I have been permanently living in abuja since 2006 till date and in between, i have visited over 15 states in Nigeria. But truly,i do not see anything better in lagos to the other states i have visited,if compared to the resources available to those other states is considered. What we all must know is kwara for example, receive between 2-3 billion naira from FG monthly and generate around 2bilion internally. The summation of its monthly resources is around 5billion. Now, if the kwara state govt invested 2 billion into the state and embezzle 3billion for example,it has invested 40% of its resources. But lagos for example earn around 50billion naira monthly both from FG and internal generated funds,if it invested 10billion naira and embezzle 40billion, it has embezzled 80% and invested 20%. the level of development you would witness in lagos that invested 20% would be higher than that of kwara that invested 40%. The Lagos state govt would praise for embezzling 80% why the kwara state govt would be seen as not working. But my question to you is, Can you please mention exactly what the masses in Lagos had enjoyed from the government? |
may God help us |
no be small thing oo |
THE TRUTH ABOUT LAGOS Many would say that the Lagos government has performed and i would ask, show me their works. Lagos State has no doubt changed, but so is every other states of Nigeria. Taking a look around Lagos,i can't but lament poor government presence in most part of the state just like other states. Many are fast to praise the government for doing well due to the media hype, but truly,i have not seen anything in Lagos that worth the massive praise the government had received. Can you please mention exactly what the masses in Lagos had enjoyed from the government? Some would jump at comparing Lagos with other states and it is reasonable, but in comparing two states, you should tell us how much does the state you compare Lagos with earn from FG and what they make internally. In my view, the truth about Lagos state is that,it made the poor poorer to the comfort of the rich. |

THE PRICE OF LEADERSHIP MESSAGE TO NIGERIAN YOUTHS My fellow oppressed, violated and abused youths of Nigeria, i salute you all. I know you are violated, abused and oppressed because i am too. I know you are tired and ready to end this injustice and backwardness because i do too. in this case, we must pay the price of leadership I read a post by someone which states that, when he was a child in 1985,at the time when IBB took over government from Buhari, his class teacher said IBB is now the new leader of Nigeria and you(the children) are the leaders of tomorrow. 27 years later, both IBB and Buhari are still the same people struggling to win the highest leadership position of this country. What does this means? To my understanding, some youths would be fast to accuse the present leaders of selfishness, yes they are selfish, greediness, yes they are greedy and all other names you call them. But come to think of it, when OBJ became the leader, he had oppositions who would stop at nothing to prevent him from leading, but he worked pass them to claim the mantle of leadership with his determination, preparedness and zeal. When Buhari overthrew the government,he had to crush many oppositions to make it to the top. When IBB took over,he climbed mountains to succeed. This explains that no one would take any leadership position without overcoming the challenges attached to it. We should not expect anyone to give us the room to take leadership positions,we must crush any opposition trying to prevent our dream of a great Nigeria. The colonist didn't give our fore fathers a chance to be independent, they took it by force and they were youths like us. Awolowo was a youth,Azikwe was a youth,Tafawa Balewa was a youth and all of them in their youthfulness made the mark without waiting for a chance. IBB,Buhari,OBJ,GOWON, etc all where youths when they lead this country, they did it not by chance, but hard work and preparation and determination. We have million soldiers who didn't become presidents, these few individuals made it because they worked for it and waiting for these present leaders to give us the way is a waste and bad means to get leadership position. In fact, it is a shame on us for asking someone who worked hard to get to a position to give it out free. They didn't get it free, they worked for it. In their course of trying, they may be killed by their opponents, they may be stopped by their seniors, they may be imprisoned for their actions, but they only focused on their mission without the fear of death, imprisonment and co. Asking for leadership cheaply is opportunism and psychophanism..My message to Nigerian youths is to Stand up and crush any opposition, plan, think, prepare and pray. Abdul AOH |
lol..thanks anyway. |
