A Nigerian Breaks Grounds on Global Mobile Technology. Intellectual icon, and academic, Dr Chris Imafidon gets invitations from the British Parliament, by Sir Richard Branson, and even the British Queen for ground breaking research and le...adership. A world class academic (of African extraction), who is described by the BBC, and CNN as an intellectual icon has been recognised by some of the most significant and highest-profile personalities in the Europe for his pioneering work on leveraging technology, wireless computing and security. (see BBC video interview at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXsu-pmWesk) Dr Chris Imafidon, who is a consultant to monarchs, presidents, and heads of governments, and industry, was invited to a conference with world leading business experts such as Lord Sugar and Sir Richard Branson at the O2 in London recently, where he was given the opportunity to show how indispensable technology has become in the globalisation of business. Dr Imafidon demonstrated how local businesses can use search engines such as Bing, Google, and Yahoo to dominate foreign markets. He revealed an innovative strategy for social media platforms to boost business performance and staff productivity. He redefined, and re-purposed mobile devices such a Blackberry, I-phone, I-pad, and androids wireless micro-computers. IN PARLIAMENT He was similarly invited to the British Parliament (House of Commons) to join thought leaders in a discussion on energy poverty in developing economies. He cited Bangalore in India as a good example of a city where over seventy percent of workers are ‘tele-workers’, or employed by technology giants in the USA. He also explained that new studies by digital economists suggest that ICT is the single most important tool in sustaining growth for a country. (http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-756952) Multi-award winning Dr Imafidon stated that "if technology is treated as a tool (rather than as an entertainment toy), mobile computing devices can boost productivity, generate employment for rural citizens through remote working; and lead to economic empowerment, and reduction in unemployment and poverty". He added that education and knowledge transfer can be scaled up using innovative technologies. ( http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-756952) WITH THE MONARCHY He was also invited to Westminster Abbey to join senior royals and world leaders to celebrate the Commonwealth Day in London. The theme for the service, attended by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, senior royals and representatives from the Commonwealth countries was 'Connecting Cultures'. (see CNN report http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-761603) At the event, attended by other heads of governments, or former leaders, Her Majesty watched a video tape of her own speech which was heard and seen by all commonwealth countries at the same time. This connection of various peoples, at the different location, and time zones was made possible by recent advances in technology. This confirms findings of e-Government research led by Dr Imafidon where he showed that technology facilitates capacity building in parliamentary and executive education. (See www.imafidons.com) According to Dr Imafidon who was invited for his work with educational charities such as Excellence in Education where he serves as a board member, “the role of technology in connecting different remote cultures cannot be overemphasized. Her Majesty visibly demonstrated the role of technology by video-casting her message to 54 different nations at the same time” (see http://excellenceineducation.org.uk/ ) Other dignitaries at the celebration included: Former British Prime Minister John Major, representatives of 54 different heads of governments, UK’s International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell and the UK’s first ever lady solicitor-general Baroness Patricia Scotland QC. Dr Chris current lectures, mentors or supervises research at Universities in London, and Oxford. |
ON ELECTRICITY ,NO ACCOUNT,NO RESULT,NO CHECKING AND NO BALANCE Billion Dollars are being spent on electricity by every government that came into power, yet power keeps getting worse by day. OBJ spent 16Billion dollars during his administration without any result,Yar'Adua also spent 5Billion dollars with nothing to show for it and now that Mr Jonathan added another 4billion dollars that we all think would make things better, the reverse is the case just like previous governments. The next thing we hear is that the Fed Govt is to sign a 10Billion Dollar contract with the US firm. What happened to all the billion dollars spent by OBJ? What about those spent by Yar'Adua? even if all those are outside GEJ's tenure, what about the 4billion dollars he spent? No account,No history,no result,no checking and no balance. The elites are exploiting the money and we think the Nigerian problem is NOrth VS South? |

I felt it was important to share this story in NIGARD. A beautiful example of what Nigeria should be benefitting from cultural and religious differences. God bless the young heroine in this story. It was posted by a friend of mine; Saadatu Hamma. Richard Ali Via Shittu Fowora, all true Northerners, read and share. - Ra. Friends, ... Just want to share this with you. This was aired on 25/3/2012 NTA Newsline. A young lady, Ime Anwana, a Batch "A" corps member, was posted to serve in the NNPC depot in Niger State. She visited a friend serving at a local girls secondary secondary in the nearby village of Kaffin Koro and was told the school has no chemistry teacher. Ime volunteered to use her free time on Friday evenings to teach chemistry to the students - free of charge. While teaching in the school she saw the sorry state of the student accommodation and took it upon upon herself to do something about it. She raised the sum of 3.8 million naira and supervised the building of a student hostel equipped with 40 double bunk beds complete with mattresses. One fateful day, while riding on a motorbike taxi (Okada) on the way to the project site she had an accident that killed the Okada rider and seriously injured her. She spent three weeks in a coma and was bed-ridden for three months. On the NTA Newsline programme it was shown how the village of Kaffin Koro rolled out the drums to honour Miss Anwana for her work for them. The District Head of the village, Alhaji Abubakar Mamman gave her the chieftaincy title of Jekadiyan Kaffin Koro (Ambassador of Kaffin Koro) and also a piece of land in the village. Ponder this: 1. Niger State, Ime's host state, is the home state of two former Presidents of the Federal Republic - Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar. Ironically (and sadly), one of them recently hosted a high-profile meeting in the same state to "discuss" the problem in the North. All they need is few minutes trip to Kaffin Koro and they will see the problem staring them in the eyes. 2. In the NTA Newsline report there was neither representation nor acknowledgement of Miss Anwana's work from - or - by her host, Niger State Government. 3. Paiko Local Government, under whose jurisdiction Kaffin Koro falls, has a Local Government Chairman, a State Assembly Representative, a National Assembly Representative and a Senator in Abuja. They all know (or should know) the state of that school long before Miss Anwana left her native Akwa Ibom State and arrived there. Don't you now think that the system is broken? 4. Miss Anwana's action throws a challenge not only to the Mandarins in the Northern political set up but also to young northerners closer to her age who have either silently acquiesced to the status quo or have been driven into the welcome arms of religious extremist due to the dearth of opportunities in the North. If you are a reading this and you are a northerner - silently admit to yourself that Ime's action has shamed most of us. And then pledge to do whatever you can, no matter how little, to reverse the decline (moral, educational, social, economic) in your community. Please feel free to share this - Via Gambo Danbello Hamza |

These buses where introduced bus RTEAN (Road Transport Employers Association Of Nigeria) This is one of the patriotic action which was not even found in the Action Governor of Lagos State and many Nigerian leaders who go about Importing crude manufactured buses from India. ... I was very happy yesterday when for the first time, I drove side by side with a made in Nigerian bus. I felt more important being a Nigerian amidst the discouragement faced daily from evil and corruption news our ruler feed us with.

WHEN A 60 YEAR OLD MAN BECAME THE YOUTH LEADER The youths constitutes the majority in PDP,yet a 60 year old man speaks for the concern. hum. IBB once said the youths are not ready and we see all sort of condemnation, isn't it showing already? The youths are the once spreading the news of PDP being the best party in Nigeria, they give PDP the required votes needed to rig, they are the main campaign tools, they are the hooligans used in stealing ballot boxes, they are even used to intimidate other electorates, they are the once praising the convention, they are used to spread the propaganda and defend it on social media, yet their leader is a 60 year old man. What capable and intelligent youth. What this simple means is that, the entire youths in PDP are incapably crazy. if not, there is no single youth who is capable enough to represent the youths genuinely, there is no a single youth responsible enough to take the lead and speak for their concern, their is no single youth who can express is displeasure and insist on doing things right. The youth leader is even older than the president, probably the same age with the National Chairman as i am very sure he his older than the National secretary. |

THE NORTH IS MULTI ETHNIC AND MULTI RELIGIOUS SOCIETY I was going through the just concluded UTME English paper and i saw an article on the first passage talking about traditional religion. What caught my attention most is the conclusion that the traditional religion is no longer in the north northern Nigeria because it has been swept out completely by Islam. But this is not true,Contrary to popular believes, the North is a multi ethnic, multicultural and multi religious society. Before the spread of Islam, there exists targets of traditional worship, though,it differ from one community to another. Their belief revolved around a big distant god referred to as UBANGIJI',who is surrounded by intermediaries called Iskoki, who are directly in touch with men and control their affair. Till today,we still have these worshipers who are called 'MAGUZAWA. |

THE REAL PARASITES IN NIGERIA The north is said to be the parasites in Nigeria, but i think not. There are 3 parasites in Nigeria and they include: 1. Sycophantic youths, sabotaging the effort of restoring a progressive change and seeking relevance by associating and seeking support of established political thieves. 2. Opportunists, greedy and elfish elites exploiting the resources of the nation 3. Citizens taking money from politicians These 3 category of people are present in every region, north and south. |
Contrary to the widely broadcasted news of free education from primary to secondary school in kwara state, and the payment of waec and neco fee of outstanding students in mock exams,it was confirmed to be lies. Before the declaration of free education by the kwara state government early this year, the students pay N620, but it would amaze you to know that after the free education announcement, the students still pay N580. A student i came in contact with said,we usually pay N62 then, but they still collect N580 now. A father who also inquire about the waec and neco fee after his daughter passed the mock exams was told by a secondary school principal that, there is no any payment of fee of outstanding student by any government, if you want your child to write the exam, pay. my question is that, is there any free education in kwara? |

WHY NIGERIAN YOUTHS MUST UNITE One of the greatest problem affecting Nigeria as a country, especially the youths who consider themselves as agent of change is the lack of unity. The absence of unity promotes anarchy, misunderstanding and backwardness. You will notice that a community project is either not completed on time or not completed at all,the reason is because people were tasked to carry out night vigilante to avert armed robbers, but only few people showed up. A particular area was trying to prove that the majority of the little people who showed up for the vigilante were from their area and the other areas were trying to prove otherwise, this consumed them both and the next time they called for any meeting, no one showed up. This is the effect of the lack of unity. Unity is a very strong force that enable people to share the burden of life with others without being crushed by it. Unity is a combination of forces to pull an object stronger than the power of a person or group. Using the combined forces of the Nigerian youths against the enemy of the masses will be more effective than when the youths of each region are trying to accomplish the goal on their own. A person who feels he his not loved will find it hard to support a common cause in a particular group fighting to achieve a certain goal, this is why we must imbibe the spirit of love in our midst. Unity can be considered to be the state of general agreement and focus for a common good. when individual sinks their differences and come together as one, with a shared interest and purpose, this constitutes unity and where there is unity, their is no discrimination, superiority claim, hate or prejudice. We would all see ourselves as one free and equal. Love is an element of unity and it manifests through patience, tolerance and our ability to share in once suffering moment and happiness. We must not mock other people or religion for their problems,we must not blame them either,we should rather join forces with them to find a lasting solution to the challenges, that is Love. Where love exits,we will be ready to scarifies our time to see to the good of others. My fellow youths, i beg of you, do not join the old cargoes in their deceit to the nation, the entire youths of this country should ask some common question from our collective leaders which includes: 1. How much do you receive as monthly allocation dear governor and how much development do we see in our state each month? Is that the cause of south or north? 2. Despite the complain of your excellency and other southern leaders about the north milking the nation, you are still very rich, your families are too, your children and their unborn children already have enough to live on, yet we remain poor. why? 3. Despite your noise about the southern leaders conspiring against the north, your children and children children enjoy the good life they need and would ever need, yet we remain poor and backward. The north is said to be educationally backward, but your children remain educationally upward, why? 4. We lack job employment but your children, friends and family are moving from one lucrative job to another, why? 5. Civil servant have not been fully paid the N18,000 minimum wage, but our institutions are charging over N100,000 as fee, why? 6. A 5 years old civil servant worker walk with his leg,yet your children not working at all drives exotic cars around town and board first class flight, why? The questions are countless. The so called youths, comrades and agent of change both from the north and the south are so consumed with the prejudice and sentiments of ethnicity, regionalism and religion,we accuse the next person of the same act we are guilty of without wanting to adjust our ways to share a common ground. Let me tell you the simple truth, the downfall of Nigeria would not be as a result of the corruption of our leaders, the greed of our experts, the distortion of our clerics, the intrusion of foreign agents or the lack of vision of our government, but in the sentiments and lack of a common reasoning among the youths. I have seen many youths talk about change so passionately that you would think we are truly ready to lead the nation right, but the next moment, you would see the same person so sentimental when it comes to region or religion. we defend lies, and bad leaders in our various regions because they are from our region or religion. I keep wondering when a youth organization introduces a national issue to be discussed, just to see that after few moments, the issue had been turned to the issue of a region or religion where everyone would be busy defending his region and labelin other regions all sort of names.. What are you defending in your region? Tribalism. What are you defending in your religion? mediocrity Who is your hero? An hypocrite and who is your adored leader? A thieve. Look at our 36 states, every state has its own governor among his people,Yoruba, hausa,Igbo,Ijaw etc with a monthly allocation irrespective of the amount. How much development do every state record per month? Nothing. Who embezzled the allocation of the western state governors? Hausa's! Who embezzled the allocation of the northern states governors? Igbo's! Who embezzled the allocation of the eastern and southern state governor? Yoruba's! Wake up people, these greedy elites are united on a common purpose of improvising us, they embezzle at the expense of all citizens and never mind what we feel. Why should we be divided to stand against their evil aim? When they want to steal our resources, they do it collectively, why should we be divided to demand justice? OBJ is a friend to IBB, Jonathan is a friend to Tinubu,Orji kalu is a friend to Atiku and they are all united to embezzle. Jonathan from the south insisted on Bamangar Tukur from the north for PDP chairmanship, others from the north insisted on Oyinlola from the south for the secretary. They are united to destroy. They don't care where you are from, be it south or north, they only care to destroy us as they have always done, won't you rather wake up? The truth on ground is that, we are all sentimental and must adjust our ways,if we must progress. Every one want to blame the next person, every region want to blame others,no one want to take the blame, but no one need to take the blame because we are all guilty. There is no need to blame anyone, the elites should be collectively blamed by all because only under a good leadership can a nation excel. The northern youths should defend the south against their northern elites and the southern youths should defend the north against their southern elites. Wake up Nigeria Deceit is over The truth shall prevail by the unity of the youths Sentiments apart Together we prosper United we stand Divided we crash With one Nigeria Progress is assured Elites are the same From North to the South Exploiting us dry Is there common agenda But i have pledged to Nigeria To serve my country And the time is now To fulfil my pledge Aluta continua Victoria ascerta Youth are the drivers who drive nations to glory The key to drive Nigeria Rest on our shoulders We must drive well To secure the future Wake up Nigeria Victory is assured |

One young academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company. He passed the first interview, the director did the last interview, made the last decision. The director discovered from the CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research, never had a year when he did not score. The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?" The youth answered "none". The director asked, "Was it your father who paid for your school fees?" The youth answered, "My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid for my school fees. The director asked, "Where did your mother work?" The youth answered, "My mother worked as clothes cleaner. The director requested the youth to show his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect. The director asked, "Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?" The youth answered, "Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me. The director said, "I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean your mother's hands, and then see me tomorrow morning. The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to the kid. The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water. This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to pay the school fee. The bruises in the mother's hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation, academic excellence and his future. After finishing the cleaning of his mother's hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother. That night, mother and son talked for a very long time. Next morning, the youth went to the director's office. The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, asked: "Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in your house?" The youth answered, "I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes' The Director asked, "please tell me your feelings." The youth said, Number 1, I know now what is appreciation. Without my mother, there would not the successful me today. Number 2, by working together and helping my mother, only I now realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done. Number 3, I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family relationship. The director said, "This is what I am looking for to be my manager. I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. You are hired. |

human right was substantiated through religion, that is why we can't remove religion from human right. the quality of human in human right was substantiated through the religions teaching which says God created all human from one man and equal, and in Christianity, it say,we created human in God owns image. This means that for human right to actually be a right, it must conform with certain laws from religion. |
can you substantiate your submission pls? |
