Why must Buhari be the president for Nigeria to be good? i post this to follow up my previous post and conviction about my position. I posted a topic some weeks ago about how disappointed i was that Buhari under CPC declared he would not be going to court but did after loosing the election and i was attached for it. Now after declaring that he would not be contest after 2011 came back to say he would contest 2015. I argued then that if Buhari was to be sincere in his proclamation about not going to court after loosing, he would have declared his retirement from partisan politics after loosing and even if cpc went ahead to court, no one would ask him about it. But he didn't which shows he his not sincere in his submission. Now he will continue to contest until Nigerians enjoy the dividend of democracy. why must he be the one after 70 years of age? Is their is no other person he can support? when shall the youth grow? when IBB said Nigerian youths are not ripe, we all condemned him, but Buhari's action confirms that. Why can't they raise a youth and support him? why must he, I rest. AOH

It was around 10:00 pm on Wednesday night in Ilorin,the kwara state capital where I was sitting with a friend in the frontage of another friends shop playing game. We were surrounded by police men smelling of liquor and pointing gun at us from a distance as if we are harmful to the society.any effort to say a word qualifies you for a slap. My friend is a senior civil servant , but he was pushed and hit like a criminal. Even
when he introduced himself, they don’t care. I on the other hand didn’t bother to introduce myself since they were drunk and not open to reasoning. I just felt the issue will be resolved if we get to the station. My friend drove with a police officer to their station and I went with the police van. Upon moving a bit, a motorcyclist was coming and they packed to arrest him. But he was on speed so they try to disrupt him and he fell down introducing himself as a worker of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) but they didn’t listen, they bit him as he struggle with them. They took his motorcycle and we all head to the B division police station in Surulere,Ilorin.

Upon getting to the station, I was reunited with my friend who has been kept at the back of the counter among other victims. Every effort to speak to the officers proves abortive. They keep talking about the order from the DPO. According to a police officer, he said: don’t try to tell me anything, there is nothing I can do about it, this order is from the DPO and only him can listen or set anyone free. So you have to wait for the DPO.

We waited till around 12:00 before the DPO came, but even the DPO is not ready to listen to any one, he just went straight to his office an every effort to get across to him failed. After some minutes, he was going out to raid more people as he was also part of a team raiding with his personal car, The FRSC guy struggled his way to talk to him and this was how my friend also took the advantage as they are closer to his side. They both introduced themselves to him and he set them free, but he noticed many of their victims would go free if he keeps granting audience, so he decided never to listen to anyone again. My friend who tries to let him know we were together was not granted the audience. I try to talk to him myself but he his not ready to listen even when I say I am a human right advocate.

My friend’s car was cleared and he waited to see if he can talk to the DPO for me. After 1 hour, around 1:00 am, the DPO came back and my friend try to talk to him about me, he felt very angry and just walk away in anger threatening anyone who try to talk to him. When it was unsuccessful, I told my friend to go since there is nothing he can do.

We were like 40 people, among us was a banker, a pregnant woman a wife to a university lecturer both arrested, a chemist man,students,businessman and okada riders. The police where to detain us, so they wanted to search and collect our belongings which was handled by a female police officer with the name, FOLUKE ABOLARIN, a yellow fair woman. She was making fun of people, insulting and using abusive words on the people as she search, threatening and all sort, but I sit quietly listening and watching as she mock people while searching. When it came to my turn, this was the conversation that took place.

FOLUKE ABOLARIN (POLICE OFFICER): what is your name?

Victim: Abdul

FOLUKE ABOLARIN (POLICE OFFICER): your name is not on the list

Victim: they wrote it, may be you didn’t see it

After searching for some while, she saw it

About 40 people were locked up that nigh in two cells.

In the cell, people started to give account of how they were arrested. One victim, a university lecturer who was arrested with his pregnant wife said: I was arrested close to my house. I and my wife came back from a program and I am scheduled to attend another program that night, so my wife decided to walk me down the road to get a car and about some steps away from our gate, they packed and ordered us to enter their van.

A business man narrated: I have been waiting since about 8:30 pm at the general hospital round about waiting for my goods to arrive from Ibadan, but the bus didn’t come until around 9:30. As we finish offloading the cartoon of turkeys, standing by the road to get a car that will transport it to my destination; the police came in a private car with guns pointing at us as people run away including the Okada man I took from my area. We thought they were thieves but they showed id and uniform and ordered me to enter their car and all effort to speak to them failed. He said, even the DPO was with the team that arrested me. I was boggled into the car living my goods behind. After much hussle at the police station, I was taken back to where I was arrested but my good where no where to be found. Thanks to the Okada man I took from my area who ran away when they came, he checked back and secured my goods.

Two unilorin students said: we were standing by the road in sawmill calling taxi to oko-erin, you cant imagine the police were driving taxi. The taxi we called stopped and when we try to enter, gun was pointed at us and said, take them to the station.

A chemist man that was also arrested said: I just locked my shop and crossed to the other side and climb an Okada, upon moving a bit, a private car came close, hit us slightly and we fell down with the okada. I ran way when I saw gun believing they were thief, but I fear for the okada man,when they said they are police, I came out hoping to talk to them and introduce myself, but I am here now. Many okada riders were arrested also which is their usual ways. An elderly man who said he his a 400l student of law in the university of Ilorin said,I decided to study law now because of the several abuses I have faced from the police.

The next morning, the police didn’t open us for any discussion or identification until around 10:00 am. Some minutes to 10 here comes the DPO, we were opened and told to line up like criminals before the DPO in an open field and putting us into categories. This was when the DPO cares to know your identity, but to my surprise, I was the last person on the line but the others were not freed despite their identification in the morning, they were told to stay aside. But when he gets to me and introduced myself as a diplomat, I was asked for an id and I told him it is with your men. He ordered them to take me to bring it and when I did,I was released.

The question in my mind is,

1. Is this how people have been suffering in the hand of police?

2. What crime have we committed in accordance with the police act?

3. If any, What is the stipulated punishment for such crime?

I know I didn’t commit any crime, this is a tactics from the police to raise money. The appropriate authorities are watching while the people are faced with such violation and human right abuses. The creation of Boko Haram can not be far from frustrated people who felt unjustly violated. If these kinds of people are recruited by Boko haram, don’t you think the country would collapse as virtually every Nigerian have tested violation in the hand our so called friends and protector.

I hereby call on all activists, human right advocates, Human right lawyers, the Nigerian people and the appropriate authorities to ensure the following:-

1. Determine what violation has occurred in case and ensure justice to the people.

2. Prosecute the offenders among the Police from the DPO and his men for violating the people against the provision of the constitution

3. State in the police act where slapping people is accepted for no reason

4. Join our call for justice as you may be the next victim.

5. Create awareness about this, write the appropriate authorities, human right organizations,media and others.

The 70-year-old Sunni Muslim, who ruled Mauritania both as Prime Minister and Pres, ident before he was ousted in 2005 by a military coup has been identified by Nigerian intelligence services as a key facilitator, motivator and backer of the faction of the radical group which says it wants full Islamic law enthroned in all northern states in Nigeria. Once that money is finished, that will be the end of NTC, many came to Libya as mercenaries to fight for money, they carry no democratic credentials. Here is a selection of the initiatives Libya has already put in place in Africa, as well as some of the projects it is planning, explaining why the West's illegal war against Libya also is a war against Entire Africa.

AFRICAN UNION: Libya is one of the biggest contributors to the budget of the African Union. A Libyan diplomat told Reuters Libya is one of five countries -- the others are Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria and South Africa -- which cover 75 percent of the Union's budget. "Libya makes its full required contribution to AU funds. Not all countries do and that buys it influence," a senior African Union official said.

MALI: For several years Mali has been confronted with the activities of the radical Islamist militia Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb in its northern deserts. Gaddafi’s money and diplomacy have helped to resolve conflicts in northern Mali between rebels and the government. In 2010 Libya has given Mali two security planes to combat insecurity in the north of the country. These conflicts could flare up again if Gaddafi exits the stage. Nowadays Gaddafi has many supporters in Mali who regularly march to protest against the Western-led military intervention in Libya.

CONGO: Libya has put $65 billion into sovereign wealth funds, including one which is specifically designed to make investments in Africa. The Libyan Arab African Investment Company, a vehicle of Libya's Africa sovereign wealth fund, owns Le Meridien, one of the biggest hotels in Congo. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment paid for by Libyan investment. In 2010, Libya planned to fund the building of a highway north of Congo's capital Brazzaville, where also the building of a mosque is planned.
LIBERIA: Libya has provided millions in investment projects, helping to strengthen the rule of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in one of Africa’s most impoverished nations. Gaddafi's help includes the funding of a rubber processing factory built in Gbarnga, Bong County, a technical and vocational school for the handicapped, as well as Libyan assistance in helping Liberia tackle the food crisis and renovation for the Ducor Intercontinental Hotel.

NIGER: Also in Niger Gaddafi has helped to prop up the government and the authorities would become more fragile without his financial help. Libyan Prime Minister Al-Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmoudi visited Niger in August 2010 and announced the creation of a $100 million investment fund for Niger as part of a strengthening of bilateral ties. Under earlier agreements, Libya is contributing 100 million euros for the construction of a Trans-Sahara highway in the north of Niger, according to sources close to Niger's foreign ministry. The local subsidiary of Libya Oil, along with Total, are the major players in Niger's fuel retailing business.

CHAD: Gaddafi has been a key supporter of the government, which would weaken if it lost his aid revenue. Chad has been plagued by civil wars and invasions after its independence from France in 1960. After years of unrest, Gaddafi seals a peace agreement for Chad between four Chadian rebel groups and the Chadian government in 2007, which agreement was signed in Sirte.
In 2010 Libya made a huge investment in Chad's National Telecom, which meant a boost of the number of the Chadian mobile phone users from 100,000 to two million.

CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC: Libya has helped to prop up the fragile government, sending paratroopers into the capital in 2001 to defeat a rebel assault. In 2008 Gaddafi played a role in the formation of a peace agreement between the government and rebel groups.

MAURITANIA: Gaddafi was the first head of state to visit after a 2008 coup which brought President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz to power. Aziz, who subsequently won a presidential election, has visited Gaddafi several times since then. Even Mauritanian opposition politicians have gone to Tripoli to pledge allegiance to the Libyan leader. Mauritania has debts to Libya of about $200 million. During discussions on debt relief in May 2010, the Libyan Central Bank announced Libya would provide $50 in grants to build a hospital and a university. The university is to be named after Gaddafi.

SUDAN: The 20,000-troop peacekeeping mission in Dafur, jointly supported by the African Union and the United Nations, could be hampered if the African Union (AU) loses funding from Gaddafi and destabilize the country. Gaddafi, who blamed the crisis in Darfur on Israel, made a number of attempts to broker peace talks between Darfur rebels and the Sudanese government.
In October 2010, Gaddafi warned ahead of a vote on possible independence for South Sudan that a partition of the country would be a “contagious disease” that could spread to other African states.

ETHIOPIA: The African Union, based in Ethiopia's capital, could find itself in financial trouble if it loses the massive support that Gaddafi gives it. Under his rule, Libya supplied 15% of the AU’s membership dues, and it also paid the dues of many smaller and poorer African nations. To seek for a solution of the Eritrea-Ethiopia conflict, Gaddafi has sent a special envoy to Ethiopia in 2000. In 2008, Libya's OiLibya bought Shell Ethiopia. This agreement also included retaining all Shell employees, who were hoping to work in a better environment since a long time

SOMALIA: The African Union peace keeping mission, whose 8,000 soldiers are crucial to the battle against Islamic radicals in Somalia's capital Mogadishu, could be severely weakened if the AU lost the financial support of Gaddafi. In 2008 Libya decided to grant an investment fund to Somalia through the Sahel-Saharan Investment and Trade Bank to fund infrastructures such as roads and bridges within Somalia.

GAMBIA: Libyan firms own two hotels and the "Dream Park" entertainment centre in Gambia. Gambian agriculture has received support from Libya, including a donation of seven new tractors. In 2009 Gaddafi gave two camels to Gambian President Yahya Jammeh as a gift. The Libyan and Gambian presidents have exchanged visits and senior Gambian officials attended ceremonies in to mark the 40th anniversary of Gaddafi coming to power.

A lot of people in America, the regime side, even some on our side, "Hey, it's wonderful. It's like the Arab Spring. It's more democracy. It is flowering." And it's not. It is Sharia law.

There is so much audio where I warn everybody, "We don't know who these Libyan rebels are, slash, were," and at the beginning, just like in Egypt, Obama ran to the front of this mob like he did with the Egyptian mob, and these liberals are cheering Obama, but most of America, thanks to 9/11, knows all too well what radical Islam is. It's hostile to women, gays, Christians, and Jews. It's hostile, as in dangerously hostile, as in human rights violations, ninth century, seventh century barbarism, and that's what we're dealing with now. The Libyan official embrace of radical Sharia law happens as Obama announces the US is leaving Iraq with the speed of feverish intent. By the way, this is a George W. Bush timeline, by the way, to pull out at the end of 2011. So Iran is happy. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, dancing in the streets. Let's go to the audio sound bites. I just want to remind you, this is March 18th on this program.

RUSH ARCHIVE: The situation in Libya, who are the rebels? We see Khadafy, we see a bad guy. See rebels, we see good guys. Anybody that wants to get rid of Khadafy has gotta be a good guy. Well, in the context here of US foreign policy, the Mideast on fire, when is it going to become?

RUSH: But we were doubtful here that this was anything good. We were skeptical here that there was anything good going on here. And now we're being told today that this is wonderful and marvelous, that once again Barry Obama has taken out another bad guy, and the world is safer, and the world will love America, and the world is now more openly democratic and blah, blah, blah. RUSH ARCHIVE: Where's the Muslim Brotherhood in all this? You know they're lurking around, and they're lurking around in Egypt, and we know that it is the objective of militant jihadis to have Sharia throughout the Middle East. Now we learn, as I've pointed out the good possibility that the rebels are Al-Qaeda, either Al-Qaeda sponsored, paid for, whatever.

RUSH: Okay. So it's now Sharia law. I was able to predict this. I was able to predict it using intelligence guided by experience. Why was our news media, why were our journalists and our professional diplomats and our intelligence agencies unable to predict this? (interruption) Really? Really? Everybody wants a happy ending? So you just tell yourself that this is going to end happily, and that's what's gonna happen? It's just like when Steve Jobs was first diagnosed with cancer, he said, (paraphrasing) "You know what, I'm just gonna tell myself I don't have cancer. That's gonna fix it. Something magical is gonna happen, I'm just not gonna accept this." You're telling me that that's how our foreign policy and diplomatic corps dealt with this? They want a happy ending?
So they were gonna get happy ending vibes? Yeah, denial and so forth, but regardless, we were able to predict it.

These people missed it in Egypt. Our diplomats, our media, even some in our conservative media missed it in Egypt, missed it in Libya. Khadafy had to go. Why did Khadafy have to go? Khadafy had to go just to show that we could get rid of him, pure and simple. Khadafy had to go because Obama needed to show people he could get rid of somebody when he wanted to. We're mounting up a lot of these. Bin Laden, Mubarak, now Khadafy. (interruption) I know, the mass graves are now being discovered. I think we mentioned that on Friday. The mass graves are being discovered and the rebels are believed responsible for this. Now, none of this should have been news to anybody except perhaps the news media.

We've been predicting this. That's why I went back and got the audio from the archives of the program. We've been predicting this since March of 2011. The rebels are just like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has been very open about what his intentions are regarding Israel and the entire Middle East. The rebels have been openly promising to implement Sharia law all along, that's what the Muslim Brotherhood's been about in Egypt. And the news media, the Democrat Party have just chosen to ignore those details until their victory was assured. You notice now how the Washington Post -- I have a story here in my formerly nicotine-stained fingers -- the Washington Post rewrote this article to tone it down.

The article says that "Khadafy's government tolerated little dissent and often repressed Islamists. But Libya’s Islamist groups appear to have emerged as the best-organized among post-revolution political groups." "Libya Declares Liberation with an Islamic Tone." That's the headline here. "Libya’s top leader declared the country officially 'liberated' Sunday from the four-decade rule of Moammar Gaddafi, pledging to replace his dictatorship with a more democratic but also a more strictly Islamic system." Sharia law, that's what this guy means. "In a speech to a cheering, flag-waving crowd, Mustafa Abdel Ja­lil, head of the Transitional National Council, promised to ban interest on housing loans and scrap other laws that didn’t conform to Islamic jurisprudence."

But, my friends, it's worse even than that. The UK Telegraph: "Libya's Liberation: Interim Ruler Unveils More Radical than Expected Plans for Islamic Law." And this, again, is another story on Mustafa Abdel Ja­lil, chairman of the teamsters -- sorry -- the National Transitional Council and de facto president "had already declared that Libyan laws in future would have Sharia, the Islamic code, as its 'basic source.'" So I think our side did know it. If I could predict it, they could predict it. They weren't hoping and praying for a happy ending. I'm talking about from Obama on down. They know what was going on; they knew what was going on in Egypt. Saying that they're hoping for a wonderful democratic outcome is the same thing as them trying to tell us their stimulus plan was going to create private sector jobs. They knew neither was true.

When I checked the NAGs website, the National Association of Gals, and I don't see any condemnation of the new Libyan leader's vow to put Libya under Sharia law. That includes the reinstatement of polygamy. Men will now be allowed multiple wives in Libya. Up to four. You can have harem after harem after harem. "As an Islamic country, we adopted Sharia as the principal law," said Mustafa Abdel Ja­lil, head of the national international teachers -- I'm sorry -- the National Transition Council. "Any law that violates Sharia is null and void legally." He then told thousands in Benghazi, the birthplace of the uprising last week at Khadafy's death that all men will again be free to take up to four brides without restriction.

And of course as we mentioned earlier, in accordance with Islamic law, bank interest will be capped at three and a half percent. So each guy can have four wives. No condemnation from the NAGs. So here we have the Arab Spring of democracy, bringing back polygamy. We hear basically that this is it. We have the new leaders of Libya promising to institute Sharia law and to do away with any laws that aren't based on Sharia, and we predicted it, warned you, that's what the audio sound bites were all about. Libya is going the same way as Tunisia. It's going the same way as Egypt. The most organized forces are taking power. And somehow they always turn out to be the so-called moderate Islamist parties. They're still being described as the moderate Islamist parties in the US media!

The analysts who are close to the Libyan leader have told Mathaba that the aim of the rumours is several fold. On the one hand, they wish to demoralize the Libyan resistance which has held out for over 7 months against the strongest terrorists and invading armies in the world. On the other hand, they wish to thus lure the Leader out to make a call in order to attempt to get a fix on his location.

The Secretary-General of the International People’s Conference Organization told Mathaba that there is also another aim in this strategy of Clinton and her minions, which is to attempt to perpetuate the myth that the TNC controls all of Libya and that the Jamahiriya is no more, because the TNC has made it clear they cannot declare a government unless they control the entire country.
