PoliticsBe Your Own Model Instead Of Taking A Hero by bilms(op): 12:09pm On Mar 12, 2012
BE YOUR OWN MODEL INSTEAD OF TAKING A HERO

My model is better than yours,no mine is better. The yoruba people are more intelligent,no the hausa can rule better,i think igbo are more scientific. Buhari is a man of integrity,Tinubu is a good leader,i think Obasanjo is better. Ojukwu is a hero,we need to imitate Awolowo,Azikwe is a nationalist,Sardaona made his mark. Sanusi is my model,Elrufai is a progressive,Tunde bakare is the nigeria's luther king,Jonathan deserve it,IBB is the man,Atiku is the best,Fani Kayode is right,Wole Soyinka rules and Dimeji Bankole is correct. All these and many more of our respective sentiments would do us no good than destruction. It has always done it and would continue to until we all come to a common term of reasoning. All these people have in one way or the other contributed to our woes, they have stolen in one way or the other, they are united to steal and divided to deceive. They may have done some good too,and we should appreciate that. Forget their defense, they don't deserve any as far as the present condition of Nigeria is concerned. Look around your street, don't you have people better than them? of course you are better than most of them. Why don't you concentrate on how to effect a positive transformation rather than engage in defense of your destroyer. Be your own model instead of taking a hero, because Nigeria would never be a home until we celebrate ourselves not fight on others.

PoliticsWhen The Acceptance Of Government Policy Is Lacking by bilms(op): 6:18pm On Mar 09, 2012
WHEN THE ACCEPTANCE OF GOVERNMENT POLICY IS LACKING

The present Gej administration is fast losing its legitimacy, yet it keeps blaming the failure of his government on some people,Cabal or cliq, but it is the architect of its own predicaments.

The stability of a political system depends on the needs, its structure, belief, leaders and policies that are acceptable to the people. When the acceptance of government's policy is lacking,a declining sense of legitimacy creeps in,the regime relies on the use of force, repression is increased and trouble brews. No amount of complain can save Jonathan's administration from failure, unless he seek the legitimacy of the Nigerian people.
,
Legitimacy is not by election, government may loose its legitimacy when it adopt anti people's policies. You have to rely on force to maintain rule which is what we are currently seeing in Nigeria which makes life miserable for the government to achieve any tangible thing, and this gives distractors the chance to flourish. The level of legitimacy enjoyed by the government is a barometer of its stability. This government is not stable, and it can not unless the people rules. any government that put the people first can never be unstable and such government can never loss its legitimacy. we say that the pursuit of a value is legitimate if we have reasons to expect that it will not inflict intolerable damage upon any other value which is also vitally important to us. For instance,it is legitimate for Gej to remove fuel subsidy to bring development and job opportunities, but that can only work if the people have any reason to be hopeful of any good to come out of it,if not, they will reject it and any attempt to force the policies turns against the government. It is okay to make money provided that this pursuit does not involve a great moral wrong or a serious loss of respect in our community or impair severely on our health.

Legitimacy refers to the extent to which citizens regard the state, its institutions, personnel or policies as morally right or acceptable. it is the popular acceptance or support giving to the government irrespective of the method of coming into power. it refers to the positive attitude of the citizens toward authority's position and those who occupy them. So long as there is agreement about what is legitimate, politics and government can function smoothly. It means that where legitimacy is lost, agreement breaks down and the consequences may be tyranny, revolution and secession. This government is failing,i will continue to fail,it has lost the legitimacy to rule this nation. To return to the right part,President Jonathan must seek the forgiveness of Nigerians and gain back their support.

PoliticsThe Source Of major african crisis by bilms(op): 2:36pm On Mar 07, 2012
THE SOURCE OF OUR CRISIS

African peace institutions before the advent of slave trade and colonialism do not seek to pronounce judgment,it instead solve the problems that generated the conflict. unlike courts which only pronounce judgment for or against, without solving the problems.

The source of the major crisis in Africa can be traced to court judgment which the people of Africa doesn't trust or respect. In fact, most crisis in Africa today can be traced to unsolved conflicts judged by the court of law whereby making the conflicting parties permanent enemies. In Yoruba tribe of Nigeria, they used to say, A ki to ko tu de se ore, which means that,we don't return from court and remain friends. Since war begin in the heart of men,the court judgment which placed a permanent enmity in the heart of Africans not only  begin the war,but constantly add more parties to escalate it. this is the result of crisis we are witnessing is a long and short term,  rocking the continent. To under stand me better, before the  advent of slave trade and colonialism,Africa had well established mechanism for peace education, peace building, peace making, conflict monitoring, conflict preventing, conflict management, conflict resolution and conflict transformation which ensure that no conflict is left unsolved from its source to prevent further crisis, they give justice to whom it due which every party would accept not in good faith, but in accepting the blame if guilt and apologizing and embracing the offended party. But African mechanism for peace  and indigenous institution was destroyed and truncated. Slave trade on one hand not only encouraged intra tribal conflict, but also inter ethnic conflict, because every tribe are struggling to capture slaves to sell to the slave masters, whereby capturing each other for sell, and colonialism on the other hand portrayed everything African as barbaric and incapable of serving any good purpose in life, our peace institution which resolve issues amicable was destroyed and replaced with courts. Till today,African don't trust court judgment,we don't respect it. Even if it was given and accepted, it was accepted not because we are ready to live with it and embrace each other, but because we are waiting for next option to pursue since we do not perceive it as fair. The African leaders must therefore  look into this issue and reform various constitutions to suit the African life style where everyone is free to live and embrace each others for peace and unity.

Being the boss doesn't completely mean paying the bills, instead, it means taking the responsibility as much as you can.

some women want a man to meet a certain requirement without her herself meeting a requirement, how do you expect your match?

my advice to women, just be a real woman and you would have everlasting peace and hapiness.

PoliticsPresidential Abuse Of Power by bilms(op): 1:23pm On Mar 06, 2012
PRESIDENTIAL ABUSE OF POWER

The power to order military intervention or clamp down on internal issues should be vested wit the National Assembly with the final approval of the president. The president should not have the constitutional right of order military to prevent citizens from exercising their constitutional right without the approval of the National Assembly. The deployment of military during the national protest on fuel subsidy is a clear example of the abuse of the presidential power to the use of military on internal affairs and this must be prevented. Military are to protect the sate sovereignty and not interfere with internal issue such as confronting the state citizens, and the power to give them such order should pass through the National Assembly.

PoliticsWhich Government Has Performed Its Duty? by bilms(op): 1:59pm On Mar 04, 2012
WHICH GOVERNMENT HAS PERFORMED ITS DUTY?

From Wikipedia, Government refers to the legislators, administrators, and arbitrators in the administrative bureaucracy who control a state at a given time, and to the system of government by which they are organized.

But i think there is nothing like government without the people. in fact.the people constitute the Government,so i think government is the people. To better make it clear,Government means the scarifies of the people for collective administration, which means that government is surrendering some part of your freedom and resources to some group of your people and empowering them with your resources to destroy you,but trusting them not to,instead, hoping they make use of that avenue to coordinate, protect, develop and promote your collective entity(Nation). This can be done through protecting the poor from the violation of the rich, the weak from the aggression of the strong, the child from the cheat of the elder, the woman from the abuse of the man,the minority from the domination of the majority. Do you think any government in the world has achieved this aim?

WE MUST CHANGE OUR APPROACH TO RELIGION

Peace be unto you all, Note: religion is never to be defended, but we must always tell the truth of the religion at all times and continue to seek for proper understanding. We must always be open to change our view of religion when we encounter proper explanation which we are unaware of,we must not be rigid to a certain belief or conception we have if prove, n otherwise. Many engage , in so many sentiments in the name of defending, but to what end? Both christian and Muslims have demonstrated a very low religious understanding, but very high defending ability. We have demonstrated low practice of religion but high level of ignorance, low human relation for explanation but high capacity of aggression, high love to defend insincerely and low level to understand sincerely. in fact most religious people are hypocrites from pastors,to Mallams,to Muslims,to Christians,to leaders,to followers,to scholars,to listeners, We must change.

WOMEN ARE TREASURE THAT SHOULD BE VALUED

Women are treasure that should be valued because they are special in the eyes of the lord and so should they in the eyes of man. The presidential guards tell the president where to go and where not to,not because they are superior or better than him,but because they are assigned with the duty of protecting him, just as men are assigned with the duty of pro, tecting, providing and caring for women. Women should not be violated or abused in any way and should also they respect the man. Women are nothing but partner to a man with equal right, just as the citizen of a nation. Men are assigned with the duty of protecting women and doing every hard thing for her. Men are the head of the family to do the hard work and take the hard decision not because they are better than women, but because they are assigned with that duty by the Almighty. Women should learn to respect the men doing their duty not question their authority, except when they are doing it negatively, even at that,it should be with love, respect and manners. Women should learn to accept these and also perform their assigned motherly duty effectively.
PoliticsWho Will Vote Jonathan For 8 Years? by bilms(op): 12:50pm On Mar 04, 2012
WHO WILL VOTE JONATHAN FOR 8 YEARS?

Asari Dokubo recently talked about the current president,GoodLuck Jonathan to rule for 8 years when the 4 years mandate given to him has not been utilized. This is an unguided and unreasonable utterance. Asari Dokudo only has one vote, he do not represent the Niger delta people, yet he talked about a mandate which was given to GEJ by Nigerians. How many vote did Asari had to determine who rules for 8 years? even the entire Niger delta region could not boast of making Gej the president because they never did, The entire Southern region can not give him the mandate to rule, It can only be gained from Nigerians. These kind of person and his kind has no good to offer their immediate community, their ward, local government,Niger delta and indeed Nigeria,we must all see their mission and disregard such opportunists. If GEJ deserve 8 years of rule, Nigerians would vote him again and if not, who will vote?
