The General Manager of LASTMA, Olajide Oduyoye has condemned the continued attack on the officers of the agency in the course of carrying out the function of traffic management.

Oduyoye said this in the light of the murder of a LASTMA official, Ola Oyeshina, who was attacked at about 5pm yesterday, Friday, 29th November, 2019, during the course of sanitising Iganmu-Sifax axis of Apapa.

The General Manager disclosed that a large stone was thrown at him. He was immediately rushed to Area "B" police station along with two of the people that attacked him. Owing to the trauma experienced, he (Ola Oyeshina) was immediately referred to LUTH from Randle Hospital, Surulere. He, however, does in the early hours of Saturday, 30th November, 2019.

Nigerians are reacting to a viral video of Bayelsa state governor-elect, David Lyon, ''murdering'' English language when he addressed some newsmen shortly after his election.

The Herbalist who allegedly burnt Ovey Friday hands has been arrested by the police and is currently at the Nasarawa state criminal investigation and intelligence department.

Doctors assured the thirteen-year-old teenager is in a stable condition and the functionality of his right hands depends on the healing time.

He refuted claims of burning the boy’s hands, “They are saying, I burnt his hands but I didn’t burn his hands. It is just a medicine I rubbed over his hands to ascertain if he is possessed or not and I told them(the stepmother and paternal grandmother), that if he is possessed, he would vomit and if he is not his hands will swell severely. It is the medicine that made his hands like that because he is not possessed, he said”.

Ovey Friday, claims that the herbalist “is lying, he burnt my hands” and the whole act didn’t happen in the presence of my stepmother and paternal grandmother, “they were in another room and we were in another”.

The state police commissioner Bola Longe has assured to thoroughly investigate the matter after which the suspects will be charged to court.

Nnamdi International Airport Command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has frustrated the bid by a Brazilian-based Nigerian to smuggle into Nigeria 5 Kilograms of pure Cocaine from Brazil.

Ibeh Augustine Chukwuma had arrived the airport via Ethiopian Airline, with a maximum ECOLAC bag which was found to contain the illicit drug consignment.

Chukwuma, aged 36, has been a resident of Sao Palo, Brazil where he worked in a construction company since 2011.

According to him, he had approached another Nigerian living in Brazil for financial support for his forthcoming traditional marriage in Nigeria and was promised the sum of N500, 000 if he could deliver the drug consignment to an unknown person who will receive him at the airport in Abuja.

Chukwuma, a primary school leaver, who said his two parents are aged admitted that he was fully aware of the content of the bag but offered to carry it because of the pressing financial need.

“His name is Emmanuel Paul. He deals in food stuff along with operating a restaurant. He is my friend. I asked him for financial assistance for my marriage and he said he cannot give me the money until I carry the Cocaine. He actually told me that it is drug but I have no choice”.

About 24-hours ago, ex-Big Brother Naija Housemate Nina shared a photo seemingly showing off her new man. Nina shared a photo of them kissing and she captioned it, 'Don’t Wake Me Up'.
