Rearing your children should be more important to you than pursuing any career - Nigerian man tells women

A Nigerian man simply identified as Darlington called into a radio show to say that women are by nature responsible for nurturing their children and must chose their children over any career.

''You women are asking for too much. You say we should not beat you people when you misbehave in the house we said okay. You said we should repsect you, we said okay. You said we should provide, we said ok. Now you are asking us to play your own role in the house. What happen? There is a natural role for women. You are supposed to groom your baby, bring up the children.That is why the society is breaking down because the youths are not properly groom. A woman will give birth today and the next day she says she is pursuing career. Why should women have to work? The man is supposed to provide for the home until the woman has finished rearing her babies. She can now pursue career. Babies are more important to a woman than any career. If you gain the whole career and the home front is in tatters, what have you gained? Since women abandoned their role, can't you see the reflection in the society? Women have abandoned their roles because they have become assertive.

The cleric was on his way to Takum for a peace meeting with his fellow clergymen on how to resolve the lingering Tiv, Jukun crisis when he was killed. The chairman of the council, Shiban Tikari disclosed that after killing him, the attackers set fire him and his car on fire.

Tikari identified the deceased as Reverend Father David Tanko, who hails from Wukari local government area of the state. He alleged that the attack was carried out by Tiv militias.

He also blamed several other attacks that have claimed lives and property in southern Taraba on the Tiv militias, stressing that the reason for the attacks is still unknown.

A Twitter user decided to do something nice for her male friend but his girlfriend was offended by it and sent her a stern warning.

@Soma_Okoli tweeted: "I ordered lunch for my friend cause he said he was stressed & hungry when we spoke today. He was really happy and must have mentioned it to his babe. Aunty called with his line and told me not to send her man anything again. I don't like trouble but it doesn't sit well with me."

She later gave an update and revealed her friend apologized to her when she told him what his girlfriend did.

So i almost died on saturday. Went to bed early but woke up round 2 cos i felt no. 2 coming. im on the throne waiting for the poop to poop. Omo nothing o but pain in stomach was on a rise. Next thing cramping turns to bitting on the inside. To point i couldn't stand. All alone in my house, i start calling random friends. Nobody pick. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) agents, Tuesday morning, raided the residence of former Governor Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos state, in Epe area of the state.

Residents who came out in solidarity protested the raiding of Ambode’s house by the EFCC agents and resisted their entry.

According to Hausa media platform, Rariya, the men were accused of carrying ''uncomplimentary'' hairdo. The taskforce members used scissors to cut their hair.

An Ado-Ekiti State High Court on Monday, sentenced A 53-year-old, priest, Gabriel Asateru, to five years in prison for defiling a minor. The police charged Asateru with defilement.

Justice Oluwatoyin Abodunde, held that the prosecution has proved its case beyond reasonable doubts. Abodunde also ordered the convict to pay N50,000 as fine as stipulated by the Child Rights Law, 2006.

The State Counsel, Mrs Ronke Odefola, told the court the convict committed the offence on or about Dec. 23, 2016 at Ayebaju Street, Ifisin Ekiti.

She said that the convict, an Anglican Priest, defiled the five-year-old when he visited her parents. The accused was first arraigned in January 2018 and he pleaded not guilty to the charge. To prove the case, the prosecution called three witnesses from the office of the Department of Public Prosecution, exhibits tendered included a doctors report, defendants statements and other witnesses statements.
