fizzone: Dear All,
My wife and I were denied USA visa in May, but now she has applied alone for a B1/B2 visa. While I will apply later, Her interview date is early August and EDD is October. Here are my questions. 1. Can I go ahead and also apply prior to her own interview date , this is to enable me get a date early enough for my own interview 2. Hope the B1/B2 Visa she applied for wont be an issue since she is going for Birthing, some one says she should have applied for B2 VISA
Please I need an urgent advise I believe you can go ahead and fill your application form so u can get an early interview date. Just make sure the interview date u will choose is after ur wife's interview date. |

2n2k: Visa applications especially for general visit visa cannot be handled outside Nigeria. While you fill the form online, supporting documents are hard copies. So how will they take such physical documents to UK and return them within a week
Lagos especially VI get delayed because of many numbers of applicants. Note that over 70% of applicants get decisions within 5 working days if you apply in Abuja while less than that percentage get decisions within a whooping 10 working days in Lagos (Ikeja and VI) My mum and sister applied for UK visit visa last year August at Ikeja, when their parcel was returned, it had Sheffield written on it, that is, it was returned from Sheffield. |

chimafranks: Good morning lovely people, please I need detailed advice, I intend to give birth in the US, though I don't hv visa yet. Hubby's own is expired and he has applied for renewal via Dropbox. I hv 2 kids already and we are trying to get visa for myself as well as my kids and d interview date we got is sometime in August and I am due for delivery in November. I have letter of correspondence from doctor already. And hubby has over N15m in his acct, wic I belive can cover all our bills. I am currently self employed. Please what are our chances?, also giving dt hubby renewed tru Dropbox does it hv any negative impact? What other documents do I need to boost our chances? Hello, search for Phema, she posted a comprehensive list of docs to take along to the interview on this thread, that was in year 2014 though. You can work with the list, you will be fine |

chikos: Hello all,
Pls I have a question. If your husband is currently in usa but will not available to witness the birthing and process document, should he go ahead and pre sign the consent letter and get it notarized before the birth of the baby. If it is possible, where can he notarized the consent letter.
Thanks You should have notorised it before you left Nigeria and then travel with it cos there is no where he will notorise in US. The way out is for him to notorise it when he gets back to Nig and then send it by courier to you. |

emeldamicheals: Hello everyone, Abeg, make una no vex If i want to travel with my baby that has a US passport to the UK. How do i go about it? Does she need Visa or not? Which is better to travel with? US passport or naija passport. Thanks... No, she doesn't need a visa. To be on the safe side, get the Nig passport for her especially if she has overstayed on the duration stamped on her US passport when u brought her into Nig. You should travel with both passports. |

Mobiyinogal: Hello house please I need advice my husband wants us to apply for the visa with the kids, am going to be applying to go give birth want to be honest from the start but I dnt know if we would get it what's your advice, we have no travel history either. Am due September, v doctors correspondence and hospital also. I suggest you apply alone and let your husband and the kids serve as your tie to Nigeria. When u get your own visa, let them then apply for theirs. Alternatively, you could apply with your husband and let the kids serve as your tie to Nig, when you get your visas, let them apply for theirs. I feel you stand a better chance than applying together as a family. Ensure you have enough money to show that you can afford the whole expenses |

Kemo88: Hi everyone, My hubby and I are about to sign the consent letter for ETC/Nigerian Visa. I used my maiden name on the letter as as All my documents and passport(don't have a new passport yet) still bear my maiden name. 1) I would like to know if it's going to be an issue to the Nigerian embassy that my surname/last name isn't the same as my husband's name on the letter of consent 2) I would also like to know if using my new surname on the US birth certificate would be acceptable since all my documents still bear my maiden name. Should I just go ahead and use my maiden name on the birth certificate? Or should I use my new name? or is it ok to hyphenate my maiden name and new name (e.g: smith - Coker (maiden-new)
Please this may sound silly but I'm really confused. Thanks It won't be an issue, you need a photocopy of your ID card to be submitted with the letter so it's the name that's on the ID card(that ll be your maiden name since all your docs are in your maiden name) that you will sign on the letter. |

abujaniv: Hello HerbertObi,
Unfortunately, if your last visa was issued outside Nigeria, in the past one could not use Dropbox. However, the guidelines for the Dropbox program will be changing effective March 15 and are as follows:
To qualify for the DHL Drop Box Visa Renewal Program, visa applicants must be applying to renew either a B1/B2, an F or M, J, an L, or an H visa (must be applying for the same class of visa). They must satisfy all of the following criteria for their visa class. If applying as a group or family, all members must fulfill each criteria to use the program. For a B1/B2 visa holder: • The applicant is a Nigerian passport holder; if not a Nigerian passport holder, the applicant principally resides in Nigeria and their last visa was issued in Nigeria; • The applicant’s last visa interview resulted in an issuance; • The applicant was issued a two-year B1/B2 United States visa; • The visa expired no more than four years prior to reissuance; • The applicant was at least 14 years old at the time of the last issuance or will be under the age of 14 at the time of reissuance; and • The applicant has never been arrested nor had an encounter with law enforcement, customs, or immigration officials in the United States.
Regards, Nigeria NIV Team Does this mean a person qualifies for dropbox if they didn't use the visa? |

enitan46: Good morning all. My wife plans to travel with our son around 6th to 8th April to deliver our second child in Texas, US. She would be 35 weeks at that time however, and we understand that some airlines would not allow a pregnant woman as advanced as 35 weeks travel with them. We want a direct flight however. Pls anyone has a suggestion (apart from Delta Airlines, cuz they are pretty pricey)?
In addition, a friend advised us she shouldn't fly to Texas directly cuz their immigration guys could be very difficult. Any suggestion on that too? We are doing this for the first time. Thanks a lot in advance Not many airlines go direct to the US without any stop. I am only sure of Delta Airlines and Arik but Arik doesn't lift preggers after 28weeks so ur best bet is Delta cos they carry up till 36weeks. Also, if u didn't get ur visa specifically for birthing in the US, I advise that u avoid a POE such as Houston. You can use other POE just like ur friend suggested. |

Christyline: Great moms! How una dey o? Has anyone flown BA to Atlanta before? There is an almost 10 hours layover at Heathrow airport! How does a pregnant woman without a UK visa survive almost 10 hours wait without doing anything. Any advise on how to kill boredom during the long wait? You can get the browsing time using more than one email. Once u exhaust one, set it up with another email. I did that and never got bored. You can also window shop. When u r thirsty, ask for free water. Sleep, if u feel like, they also allow pregnant women stay in the Business class lounge. My layover was just for 5hrs though. |
