What people forget is that there are many Obas/Kings there in the photo with Prince Charles. The pre-eminent Igbo King, Obi of Onitsha is not sitting at the front. It has nothing to do with position.

Oba of Benin always has the sword bearer very near him. The position he sat at was the best for the best for that.
