PoliticsDon'tcongratulate Me Donate To Kogi State Fund For The Poor Vulnerable Gov Bello by binsanni(op): 12:59pm On Jan 24, 2018
DO NOT PLACE ADVERTS TO CONGRATULATE ME AS I MARK MY 2ND ANNIVERSARY; DONATE TO THE KOGI STATE FUND FOR THE POOR AND VULNERABLE.
His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has expressed profound gratitude to the good people of Kogi State for the immense support his administration has enjoyed in the last two years. His Excellency understands that the goodwill he continues to enjoy from the majority of Kogi people is a demonstration of the faith the people have in him to do what is right by them.

Governor Bello has said that apart from ongoing infrastructural development in the state, long lasting institutional reforms that will be the bedrock of an organised and functional system are ongoing to put in place a system which runs on principles of equity, fairness, justice, and one which rewards for merit and diligence. These reforms have not come easy, no doubt but the benefits far outweigh the cost and the good people of Kogi State will be the greatest winners at the end of the day.
Governor Bello says that during his first year in office, a Fund was set up to to give the poor and vulnerable amongst us a new lease on life. This Fund was utilised mainly to offset medical bills of people who otherwise would not be able to raise funds to get the needed medical attention they deserve both within and outside the country. Over the last 12 months, more than 300 Kogites have benefited from this Fund to the tune of over 100 million naira. The satisfaction of seeing people do what illness and lack of access to funds had deprived them of for years, and in some cases decades, has filled Governor Bello with immense joy and determination to reach more people and offer succour.

To this end, Governor Bello wishes to thank friends, associates and well wishers who are considering placing goodwill messages as advertorial in the media as his administration clocks 2 years on January 27, 2018 but advises it should not be done. Instead, the Governor is calling on friends, associates, and well wishers to support him in reaching even more Kogites, who need intervention to get medical attention. With your cooperation, Governor Bello is certain even more lives can be touched and affected positively.

Please make your kind donations to:

PoliticsKogi Group Gives Gov Bello Seven-day Ultimatum To Reverse Cattle Colony Policy by binsanni(op):
Lokoja – A group under the aegis of Save Kogi Project (SKP) has given Yahaya Bello, the state governor, a seven-day ultimatum to the to reverse his grazing colony policy or risk mass protest across the state.

Dr. Umar Shaibu, Pastor Ugbede Sam and Hon. Shola Emmanuel, Coordinators of the group, in a statement made available to journalists Monday in Lokoja, noted that the proposed cattle colony for Fulani Herdsmen by President Muhammadu Buhari was to bring the country back to the dark era of colonisation.

The SKP group whose membership cut across the three senatorial districts of the state frowned at the government’s orchestrated plan to establish cattle colony in Kogi State, stating that the move was a new form of colonisation.

While condemning the proposal as undemocratic and unacceptable to the people of Kogi State, the group stressed that the attempt to “recolonise” the people through the back windows would be resisted by the group.

It said, “We the people of Kogi State say “NO” to second colonisation. Government is the father to all, it is the responsibility of the father to cater and protect all the children equally to keep the family one.

“If the Government of Kogi State under Governor Yahaya Bello fails to reverse the grazing colony policy within seven days from now, we shall take to the streets in our thousands to show that the power of the people is more than that of the people in government.”

The SKP group added further that Kogi is not a free zone, with unused hectares of land for such experiment, warning that any attempt to force it on the people would be vehemently resisted.

The statement lampooned the country’s democracy, which it likened to military-democracy of sharing, pointing out that no nation developed with impunity by the government.

“Although the herdsmen are fellow Nigerians and they have the constitutional right to stay in any part of the country of their choice, but caution must be applied to their operation to avoid collision with their host communities,” the group advised.

PoliticsDino Melaye Reacts To Proposed Cattle Colonies In Kogi by binsanni(op): 12:07pm On Jan 22, 2018
The lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial District in the National Assembly said he was not surprise that the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, will quickly meet with the Minister of Agriculture in order to make the Confluence State a testing ground for the proposed Cattle Colonies in the country.

Dino Melaye who spoke in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday evening noted that the governor’s latest shenanigans was not surprising in the sense that money was involved.

He maintained that the Federal Government will definitely make funds available to Bello to kick-start the pilot scheme in Kogi State.

“Therefore, as a true representative of the people of Kogi West senatorial zone and on behalf of my constituents, we warn in strong terms that our soil, land, water and air cannot be used for cattle colonies.

“Let it be clear to all the insensitive people behind the idea that Kogi West will resist the establishment of any cattle colony within our domain politically, spiritually, traditionally and with any means available within the ambit of the law”, he said.

PoliticsTinubu, Akande Would Have Been Part Of Buhari's Meeting If There Was The Need by binsanni(op): 3:56pm On Jan 20, 2018
APC's spokesperson said he was not sure why they were not at the meeting - Bolaji Abdullahi however added that Tinubu and Akande would have been at the dinner with the president if there was a need for their presence The All Progressives Congress (APC) has explained why its national leaders, Bola Tinubu and Bisi Akande were not invited to a dinner with President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, January 18. The APC said there was no need for the presence of both leaders at the meeting which took place at the residence of President Buhari two days ago. Punch reports that the spokesperson for the APC, Bolaji Abdullahi, said Tinubu and Akande would have been at the dinner with the president if there was a need for their presence.
Abdullahi said although he is not sure of the criteria used in selecting top party members, there should not be much fuss over their absence. He said: “I don’t know what parameters they used to invite people to the meeting so I cannot say whether there was a reason why they (Tinubu and co) were not at the meeting. But I am sure that if there was a need for them to be a part of the meeting, they would have been there.”

He had attended many meetings and dinners at the Presidential Villa before when it was required of him to attend," Tinubu's media aide noted. However, a source close to Akande said he is sure the APC chieftain would not turn down such an invitation. “I am sure that Baba would not turn down such an invitation from President Buhari if he had been invited to the said dinner. “You know that Baba Akande clocked 79 on Tuesday and he is around. I am sure to a very large extent that he was not.
Lamido said he believes the APC no longer deserves Tinubu's presence. He also said he has confidence that President Buhari and the APC would be defeated in 2019.
