EricOse1: Hello EricOse1, In my opinion, human physiology is interdisciplinary. You can email supervisors in ANATOMY, PHYSIOLOGY, PHARMACOLOGY, MEDICAL, BIOCHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY, MEDICAL MICROBIOLOGY, NEUROSCIENCE/NEUROBIOLOGY, BIOMEDICAL SENTENCES, AND SO ON. You can apply for a Ph.D program if you have a CGPA of 3.0/4.0; if your CGPA is less, don't be daunted, be relentless in your pursuit. Go through your transcript in college and look out for those courses you took, you can email profs. in those fields since you already have background knowledge. Also, I know several profs. in biology that publish articles in physiology journals. Subscribe to newsletters of various journals and click the alert button to receive latest articles everyday. When you read articles, you tend to have multiple research interests. Stay updated in your field and other related fields. What questions excite you? What problems do you want to solve? If you have spare time, volunteer/work in a research Institute or lab, in order to acquire research skills and to stay updated. By doing so, you can have the opportunity to publish articles. You can take courses on Coursera, especially those on Phython, bioinformatics, etc. You can also volunteer to teach in case of Graduate Teaching Assistantship (GTA ) positions. Try to write standardized tests. While you prepare for these tests, create time to email profs. because most schools waived these tests, especially TOFEL if you are from an English speaking country. Here is a link to about 300 universities in the US: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MYcxZMhf97H5Uxr2Y7XndHn6eEC5oO8XWQi2PU5jLxQ/htmlview?fbclid=IwAR2SKfOEPR-vcY7ulCMmGTuzHRSuhna-JVoMlEnDZLLK18kDC7RwccBBICM Be motivated to send emails/contact supervisors in your field of interest in all these universities and others. There are tens of thousands of universities in the US, don't limit your chances. Don't be daunted/unsettled by the tons of negative feedbacks you might receive. If the profs. don't respond, send reminder messages often; these folks are incredibly busy. Most importantly, PRAY. All the best! 5 Likes |
