Raider76: Please is Oando the only company required to have their FS vetted by the FRC? Or are they just doing it to give some sense of regulatory approval to the results? Two weeks is certainly not enough time to vet the results of such a large company as Oando, especially going by the time the CBN takes to vet banks' results. The vetting of result by FRCN arise during the Alhaji Mangal saga. ( I am trying to lay hand on the official statement from Oando ). What i don't know is if the process will continue in perpetuity. |

ositadima1: The way some people think genuinely surprises me. With all the bashing of Ellah, some were saying it would drop to ₦3 or even ₦1, haba. A few comments were clearly coming from a place of hate and bile, without any attempt to hide it. Statements like “Ellah Lake holders will be executed”, lol , are completely unnecessary.
We really need to calm down. There are many ways to determine value; it doesn’t have to be only your method. Yes, the capital raise failed, okay. That’s not the end of the company, nor does it automatically mean the end of their proposed acquisition.
It almost feels like some people would physically drag Ellah down if they had the power, just to prove they were right.
For the record, I don’t own a single share of Ellah. I just don’t see it as a bad bet yet. They still have possible paths to win.
Thanks for reading. Welcome back Sir. |

Cyberterror: I am more concerned about the Supreme Court verdict on citizenship by Birth that the Trump administration is arguing against. If the court sides with Trump, it means people like Davido, Banky W and others born in the US will lose their American citizenship. The law will not apply retroactively. |

emmanuelewumi: It was reluctantly listed.
Listing was part of the agreement for them to settle the issues they had with FGN..
Because they were repatriating profit to South Africa might also be another reason why they are highly leveraged.
Lafarge Africa was in Nigeria for about 60 years, but never invest heavily in Nigeria busy repatriating profit to France now they are playing catch up with Dangote Cement and BUA cement who are younger than Lafarge in the industry.
Same with Mobil Oil, Total Energy (down stream), they enjoyed subsidy windfall from 1993 to 2023, but never had a reserve which they could use to build a refinery in Nigeria, with the coming of Dangote Refinery and end of fuel subsidy, they will struggle for survival and profitability I always admire your insight on matters, whether i support it or not. |

Impressive. 👍 He understands both the defensive and offensive side of the game. I also admire Ola Aina, make good use of the ball when transitioning from defense. Very good footballer |

BabsO2: Delisting aside. Also finance costs aside Oando needs to show operations with stronger margins. The 2022FY conveyed an extremely high revenue as revenue jumped from N805b to N1,993 billion. A rise of 148%. But cost of sales jumped up at a faster rate of 151% and nearly wiped out the whole revenue. Oando achieved a 4% Gross profit in 2022. While Seplat had a gross profit of 49% in 2022. Gross profit is before any finance cost is deducted. The Gross Profit is unusually low in the last two annual reports released. This is a very good observation. Seplat show a full disclosure of what make up it cost of sales, i am still looking for what make up the cost of sales of N1.9 trillion for Oando. |
