We all make losses in stock business, you just need to know how much you can take. Stock Trading is a business that improves with experience and study. Always be a student and keep learning as all of us on this thread are learning.

Start working on your technical analysis, it will help you and improve your confidence. Some books that I am also reading as recommended by Fxuser are available on the net.

1. John J Murphy - Technical Analysis of Financial Markets
2. Robert D Edwards and John Magee -Technical Analysis of Stock Trends
3.Barbara Rockefeller - Technical Analysis for Dummies

You can keep 90% of your fund in Treasury Bills why you trade stocks with 10%. Your returns on TBills should cover your loss on stocks while you study and learn.
@ Willie2015 and @ fxuser, i will be grateful if you can forward soft copies of; Technical Analysis of Stock Trends and Technical Analysis for Dummies (i.e 2 and 3 above) to my email: teddymichael2015@gmail.com

Try to download pdf copy on net but wasn't successful.

Thanks and regards.

Please Peterichy how can I reach u for more guide on TBS. Please very important.
You don't need to reach him. The next auction for NTB is 15th of February, you can place your bid through your bank. Ensure that your bid gets to your bank before close of business on Monday 13 th of February. Do have a nice day.

there is no way you would know if CBN gave you a rate and the bank is giving you another rate. If CBN stop rate is 18.5, it doesnt mean that if you go with bank's rate, you automatically get the 18.5. Every bank has their bid rate during the auction and if your bank bid at say 18.1% for example and you went with bank's rate, it means you are getting 18.1 at the end of the day. but if you had stated your own rate at 18.4 and the bank took that rate to the auction and the stop rate is at 18.5, then you won. Choose ye what ye want. Bank's rate or Your own rate. Know it that your bank can bid and not be successful even when you go with their rate. imagine a bank bidding 18.7% at the auction while stop rate was 18.5, all those that went with bank's rate without stating their own bid rates will be unsuccessful.
And the moral of this explanation @ IHelp and all is; Always state your own rate each time you bid. Thank you.

Gtb debited @17.95 (365days)
This is not fair
Always specify your own rate each time you bid to avoid being ripped off.

Like I said people like you read books without thinking. China is government led, Most of the Chinese companies are still govt owned fpr example, CCECC that is building toads, airports and rail in Nigeria is Chinese government owned. There are certain industries that only government handle do for now, either in the form of subsidies, guarantees or directly. The Russia you are talking about established these industries and then sold them off. You only have to look at power to know that there are certain industries that only govt can do for now. Since we sold the gencos please tell me the nigerian company that has invested anything meaningful in power generation? Nigerian companies do not have the capacity. Many industries in the UK were initially govt owned and then sold off. At the stage of our development, there are some industries that only govt can initiate or only viable with govt help so if you take all your oyinbo man theory of liberisation, you will be waiting forever and in the mean time your market will be a dumping ground and you'll create no jobs...which last time I checked is exactly what has happenned to Nigeria!! Alhaji chukwu Onigbanjo is not going to borrow money @27% from Nigerian banks to establish steel industries that don't provide immediate returns. The only industries where Nigerians can play big are Oil and Telecoms because the payback is relatively quick.

Nigeria needs 40,000MW, if govt were to borrow and build 40,000MW power plants over the next few years and then sell them, the power capacity will be there and cant be taken away irrespective of who owns it and Nigerians will reap the benefit. But if you are waiting for all the new gencos to build capacity, I can promise you in 10 years we will still be under 10,000W and the demand will have grown.
You want to industrialise you build and then you sell or commercialise. Govt has a role, don't believe everything your textbooks say. The problem is not govt involvement, the problem is corruption.

Who cares if the technology is obsolete, is the steel it produces bad steel? If not what exactly is your point?
Better from you this time. This is how you present an argument in a civil way.

FamilyRe: Help!!! My Husband Lost His Job And Our Family's Luxury Life Is About To Crumble by bisiki2: 7:42am On Nov 15, 2016
EfemenaXY:
Interesting (fictional) story.

Having said that, I find it near impossible to empathise with the woman in this story as she played a big (though) indirect part in what her family is currently going through.

She wasn't and still isn't a very smart person.

First of all, she and the husband come across as the live for today, let tomorrow take care of itself kind of couple. Life is never all rosy. There will always be rough patches. The couple lived life on the fast lane without a single thought for the "what ifs". No savings, no investments, no insurance coverage, and worse still, no back up plans in place - especially with the current recession taking its toll on the economy.

And quite unbelievably, they depended entirely on his salaried income. What stopped her from getting a job of her own, even if part-time? Mtcheew. She isn't nursing a baby. No, rather than get up and use her God given brain, she chose to sit at home all dolled up in pancake and horse weave while punching above their weight. Okay, so in keeping up with the Joneses, let them use their "connections" / upper
class social circle of friends to get the husband a new job. She's lucky the husband only lost his job. What if he had died? How would this bimbo of a woman survive financially??

Three expensive holidays a year. Top private schools. Rented accommodation in the lushest, highbrow part of town. Etc, etc all about to disappear and all she can do is stroll round the garden scenting Queen Of The Night, and bursting into tears?? grin cheesy I love this blog.

Anyway, she should start by selling off all her jewellery (except her wedding ring), expensive wrappers / clothes, horse weaves, shoes, bags, accessories, etc. One pair of shoes and a handbag is all she needs.

Oga should sell off all their cars and downgrade to a single, cheap car. He too should sell off his expensive gaming equipment, multiple electronic gadgets, iPads, iPhones, laptops, etc and retain just one item. He should keep some decent suits for job interviews though.

Expensive furniture should go except the basics. No more eating out at all. They should stick to local foods.

The money generated from selling off their "nice to haves", "could haves" and "should haves" will be enough th sort out their feeding for the time being and kick start a business. They should immediately downsize their home. The money saved from that may just about keep their kids in school for another year.

Madam should get off her arsè and start job hunting fervently.

I don't mean to exaggerate: This is the best comment i have read in the year 2016.

Please I need clarification, does GTB charge custody fee as 0.1% of your interest or is it 0.1% of the amount u bidded with?
From my calculation, the custody fee is 0.1 % on the principal less commission. i.e principal - commission X 0. 1 %

I wonder why women are hard

My wife went out leaving our new born baby in the hands of our pretty maid. The little boy kept crying and the maid did all she can but he kept crying till she brought out her breast to give him and he stopped crying. As the small boy was sucking the breast, i entered and saw it, i was so angry and afraid that he could contact disease from there, i shouted at the girl, but she told me that nothing is coming out of the breast but i didnt believe her, i decided to suck the breast too, to comfirm, as i was sucking her breast, my wife came in, upon all my explanation, she refused to understand..
Biko tell me did i do anything wrong in making sure our son is not poisoned?

absolute truth.
What is absolute about what he said. Do you really believe he became a millionaire without doing nothing? Hard work does not necessarily mean lifting crane or the examples he mentioned, and if you think you can achieve success by being lazy waiting for destiny, I wish you the very best.

Address the cause rather than wasting ur time on the symptoms as that wouldn't solve the problem. The Christians should stop blaspheming cos the muslims don't joke with it. The earlier u take that instruction, the better. Must u insult their religion as if ur life depends on it? Freedom of expression does not include insulting other people's religion.cool let the mentions start rolling in, nonsense.
This blasphemy you speak of is interpreted in the 1999 constitution as a crime whose penalty is lynching?
