RabbiDoracle: I would have loved to advise you oo but this forum is a public one.
Even in Ph, if you are a big man that used to live in TAG, Golf estate, GRA, Peter Odili etc. Bros, you now need to humble yourself. Leave these areas because people will still be looking at you as a big man. Call wifey and explain to her that you will cut expenses. I mentioned rent because that is the single most expensive expense.
Then school fees for the kid. This is the second most expensive( if not the first in some cases). Where are they going to? Bereton? Find a cheaper alternative with good standard. I know all PH residents send their kids to Private schools.
Once you have cut down this, then evaluate your portfolio based on the current price of stocks in the market. If your portfolio size is less than 10m, just find another job and do. If wifey is employed, good. This will cushion the stress you will face. Otherwise she needs to do something.
Don't start up a business now. You will be wiped out!!! Reasons: you are inexperienced, you are desperate not to run out of cash and you are stressed.
If your portfolio is over 10m, go for money market instruments (Tbills). Discuss with Peterichy or Emmanuel and they will help you. However, if your balls are of steel, then you trade in stocks. Discuss with FX, BBM and Yok, they will guide you. Just use TA and survive.
I will not tell you to use FA because, you need time and patience. Why? Because you are in a trilemma: out of work, want to take care of family and don't want to lose the little money you have.
I wish you the best. Everything about your comment is called TRUTH. The bold word is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH. |

Good Day Sir,
You can do your research and choose from the following Stockbroking Firm; - CSL Stockbrokers - Meristem Securities Limited - Morgan Capital Group.
Sir, i would suggest you hold on to your stock investment until July 2018. However, if you are in urgent need of cash, you can divest in April/May 2018. As in all investments, the decision is yours.
Best regards. |
...when investors are greedy on a stock, it's practically challenging to determine when to ENTER such market. It can reverse anytime or it can continue the up ticks. On FBNH, I can only advise on what to look out for. For now the short-term value zone to buy is around N6.50 & N6.70. As I said, since the stock is very bullish, that range might be a mirage... -Resistant at N7.50 -Long term support at N6.30 #patient dog eats the fattest borne. [/quote Thank you. I am grateful. dotcomnamename: Hello bisiki2,
I don't understand your point above. Please read your post again. You clearly against the ernie4life's suggestion of Balance Fund Investment because it offers a higher yield. However, you also suggested @LeeCodeman should stick with Money market Fund Investment but for what REASON stated by @ernie4life? I don't get your point there. Are you saying @LeeCodeman should go for Mutual Funds for long time investment for the child and then choose Money Market Fund under the same Mutual Funds? Can you please clarify/be more explanatory. Thank you. Balanced Fund and Money Market Fund are investment portfolio under Mutual Fund. However, with BF there is the possibility of losing interest accrued and the principal invested is not guaranteed. |
Investment › Re: Mutual Funds by bisiki2: 10:09am On Aug 29, 2017 |
ernie4life: I will recommend mutual funds for the following reasons
little amount to start can add any amount anytime you want it grows with the child with little or no monitoring no maturity date till when you feel like withdrawing
Note: if you can I will advise you go for either a balanced fund or put a part in balanced funds since its long term @ LeeCodeman, i want to assume that @ ernie4life suggested the balance fund investment because it offers a higher yield, but i strongly advise against it. For a long term investment, a steady cash flow and preservation of capital is key. I would suggest you stick with the money market fund investment for the reasons stated by @ ernie4life |

Orpe7: First thing; open an armlife education plan for ur child, then an armlife savings plan for him/her. Trust me, you wont regret the day u did. If u need more on how to open, just holla me. I work with ARM I would rather advise the OP to open an ARM or Stanbic IBTC money market fund for his/her child as I consider it to be the best package of all the mutual fund, least risk( Almost no risk ). |
