So the Senate does not have a spoke person?

the njc is also meant as a check on the chief justice, simple. you cannot say that if the senate refuses to impeach the president then some other person/ institution should usurp their powers.
The president has not removed the CJN

He is merely on temporary suspension for the duration of his trial.
The president is merely obeying a court order.

Whether the CCT erred in issuing such order should be challenged in court

i totally understand what you are saying but the law/constitution also stipulates why and how a CJN, president, governor should be removed from office. Onnoghen should face the law and be held accountable for his actions but in doing so, due process must be followed. Even if it takes 3 months for him to be removed as the CJN, the constitution must never be trampled upon. And please don't say he's merely suspended because the constitution does not make provisions for that. Can buhari be suspended as the president?
The office is the president is not in the same level as CJN
The president has the mandate of the people, and sovereignty belongs to the people

The CJN Onnoghen ought to have at least resign

The presidency shouldn’t have resorted to Jungle justice

The NJC should protect the integrity of the Judiciary

The inaction of Ononghe led to Buhari's action.

If Ononghe had acted honourably Buhari wouldn't have done what is expediently necessary.

In all, Ononghe is solely to blame

There is another legal issue rearing its ugly head so soon: PMB swore-in an Acting CJN yesterday and Tanko Muhammad commenced work immediately.

The question is, has Tanko Muhammad J disposed to an affidavit at CCB between yesterday and today declaring his assets?.

Has ACJN complied with section 290 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria( as amended)?

For avoidance of doubt, section 290 provides thus:-

"290. (1) A person appointed to any judicial office shall not begin to perform the functions of that office until he has declared his assets and liabilities as prescribed under this Constitution and has subsequently taken and subscribed the Oath of Allegiance and the Judicial Oath prescribed in the seventh Schedule to this Constitution."

While Tanko has taken oath of office, he has not declared his assets as required by section 290 of the constitution, yet he has performed a function of the office he occupies.
Don't be in a rush.
Tanko I'd just an interim CJN

If Ononghe is able to successfully argue his case, he will have his post back and if not then we will need another CJN
But Until then ...

Whatever u think is your imagination and not facts, here are the facts

He forgot to declare some of his assets years ago

What is the penalty?

If he admits he forgot he will be given the opportunity to update it and everyone goes home smiling.

If the law says 5 yes behind bars u don't take them to the electric chair because u don't like their face.

Here the penalty does not even include a suspension, just admit and update,I wonder how in Gods green earth they came up with the suspension plot in the first place.
You'll also have to leave the office if you can't account for ur assets.

What do you think the CCT was set up for? Just to record public officials asset?

Sanusi Lamido is a CBN President and his appointment/sack is dependent on the President's authority alone. Let's remain on relevant grounds.

Salami's case was widely publicized and it's a pointer to everything wrong with what Buhari did.
Are you aware that even the AGF of Nigeria then pointed out that it was impossible for Salami to be reinstated as a court order was received against that on the same day?
In this case, court orders were trampled upon and he proceeded to suspend Onnoghen without recourse to the constitution or due process either.

The President goofed; Q.E.D.
Everything about this removal, from the timing to the process spells out dictatorship.
To be sincere, I've always believed Nigeria is not ripe for democracy. These are bare evidences.
Why did Ononghe postponed the NJC meeting meant to ask him to step aside for proper investigation of his case?

Something as to be done

Someone overseeing our judiciary can't be running from court to court trying to stop his trial.

Buhari has done what's morally right the legality of it will be corrected by the new CJN

If the CJN is truly corrupt as accused, his removal is cool then... but, why was he just caught when the election is at the door? why was Mr Buhari so quick on his case but completely slow and reluctant on other cases especially those from his camp? why did he have to replace him with another northern man? is Nigeria now for the North alone? Is Mr Buhari not gradually going insane?
A vote for Buhari, is an acceptance to continuous suffering and hardship. Think Today!
So someone can't spot someone doing wrong during elections?

It is moral for a man who murdered another to be killed (sentenced to death). But you as a civilian or even a military personnel have no right on your own to kill him. Nigeria is run by laws from the constitution and not by moral codes that are subject to change based on difference in personality or state of mind. Do you understand?
Whats ambiguous about right or wrong
It's clear as crystal
It goes beyond religion
It's only in matters of legality that wrong is painted as being partially right

What's wrong is wrong

Most Nigerians don't understand this case.

Having an account with dollars is not

Corruption or neither is it a crime.

Not declaring is an error the CJN has admitted which by precedence (TINUBU vs CCT)

All he needed to do is to correct the anomaly and case closed.

If you re investigating the source of wealth? That is a different matter entirely.

Don't let this govt and there social media erats CONFUSE u

Funny enough, the same judge that gave the Judgement on Tinubu Vs CCT.

Is the present CCT CHAIRMAN

Who happens to have a corruption case on his neck but yet, the FG has not suspended him.

This Tyranny cannot stand.
Don't you think the reason Ononghe forgot to remember to declare those assets was because he couldn't account for them?
That is also one of the charges against him.
So, what are you saying exactly?

Was it Justice Tanko that told him not to update his assets declaration?

Justice Tanko didn't lobby to be CJN. Ononghe handed it to him

Whether Buhari is doing what the ppl want or not, the presidential election in February will put all that to rest
