Ononghe refusal to do what's morally right and by these Supreme Court Judges action they have also shown whose side they are on.

Why did he postponed the NJC meeting meant to be held in 15th January?
That meeting would have deliberated on his prosecution and made appropriate recommendation.
Obviously, members of the NJC would have asked him to step aside for proper investigation and that maybe what he was trying to avoid.

Anyway, the inevitable will now happen. A neutral NJC will investigate him and offer appropriate recommendation.
But I still insist that the CCT is the constitutionally authorized body with the legal power to investigate public officials on matters of asset declaration

Imagine filing a criminal charge against a serving Attorney General, when by S. 174 and 211 of the constitution, an Attorney General can stop any case in any court no matter the offence -- be it treason, murder etc.

Ganduje ran to a court of competent jurisdiction to stop his investigation (for whatever reasons)

The Appeal Court judgement Ononghe's supporters were using as his defense was delivered based on the facts that the alleged crime was committed in the line of duty.

This issue is yet to be decided by the supreme court.

It is my humble view that the Federal High Court and Code of Conduct Tribunal are Courts of coordinate jurisdiction as both Courts lack supervisory jurisdiction over one another. Particularly so, by the provisions of Section 240 of the Constitution, only the Court of Appeal has appellate and by extension supervisory jurisdiction over the Federal High Court and Code of Conduct Tribunal.

Of course the CCT has jurisdiction.But only after it has been sanctioned by the NJC.The CCT chairman himself struck off the case against supreme court judge Sylvester Ngwuta for the same reason.

There has to be exceptions for criminal matters

A judge can be a serial killer and claimed the police has no constitutional right to arrest nor prosecute him since the NJC has not investigated the matter.

You must be related to this Justice Ononghe the manner you're so quick to qoute ppl.

My view is, since Ononghe has absolute nothing to hide, he shouldn't be running from court to court.

I heard he himself delivered a Supreme Court pronouncement that the CCT has jurisdiction over any irregularity in assets declaration of public office holders. Or did he forget that he, is an exception?
