I appreciate the response. I will go with the CIMA Foundation. With ACA, I will be exempted from the F1 to 3 plus I owe ACCA, didn't know that my registration in 2016 was as good as I have stated with them.

Pls has anyone done CIMA foundation? I will appreciate a contact/more information about it. I have gone online to check it up but I need more information and direction.

You are going for "CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting" which is 4 papers that can be done online, not CIMA foundation and also don't apply for exemptions. If you apply for exemptions, it won't fly with WES as an additional degree. Page 1 of this thread has a link to the dedicated CIMA thread.

Hello, sent a pm as regards the CIMA certification.

Utoechi:

All these happened before God sent me an angel in form of @muvey10 during our CIMA waka. I told her about my IELTS struggle and she told me she tutors for writing and speaking and she could give me a discount because I helped her through CIMA. I was skeptical at first because of the practice writing but her encouragement was on another level lool. She opened my eyes to the reasons why I was stuck at 7, taught me how to write better essays and get more marks in speaking.

Long story short, 14th December reading tried to kill my shine but God had better plans for me. With this score, I'll be at 471 when WES completes my CIMA evaluation!

Hello everyone, sorry to derail but i keep hearing that the salary for subject firm is N180k or thereabout on previous threads but is that N180k gross or net and how often is it reviewed based on performance?

Sorry to be the first person to talk about money in this thread. Thanks

Sorry, this doesnt add value to this thread but I just have to say this.

Good jobs in Nigeria are normally competitive but this shell job is on another level, it hasnt even been up to a week since the positions were opened and we are already in page 40 and with over 20 people viewing the thread at every point in time and the funny thing is that there there is high chance that they would not select more than two people for each position.

the test is just a big LOL, If it is the will of God that I pass, I'll pass, but other than that, I really don't what I was doing. For those still hesitant on doing the test, there is really not much you can do to prepare for it.

Well, you can write level 2 and 3 without proof of experience.

However you do need 3-4 years investment related experience to earn the right to be called a "CFA Charterholder". passing the exam is one part and having the experience is another. So the chances that a CFA Charterholder in Nigeria would be applying for a position that requires you to be under 26 years is very slim.

But this derailing from the topic at hand, you people should let us know how your interview went.

Asiwaju12345:

That is where you are mixing it up...ican is a nigerian thing hence people manipulate it to even go for induction without experience

But CFA...bro to write stage 2 and 3 you will have to show your proof of experience...its not even written in Nigeria, the nearest is Ghana except it has changed.

mail just dropped for 21st.

who is with me?

Why do I feel like this might not be like the same old assessment center then interview, I mean in the mail it states that there is a possibility of it lasting the whole day.

PwC is usually organised so I believe if it's just the same old, it wouldn't last that long.

But hey, we would know on Monday

or you could stop at lekki bus stop after marwa, cross the overheard bridge and take a keke going to eko hotel, tell them you are stopping at dangote.

Superdont:
If you're coming from the Ajah axis...
STOP at Sandfill bus stop. Cross to the other side of the road and you'll see Yesufu Abiodun Oniru Rd. You'd get a keke to CCP PLACE...
And Google Maps helped a lot *winks*

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Access Bank Calling For Aptitude Test (entry-level) (2014) by black101(m): 7:52am On Feb 19, 2017
I noticed no one is giving feedback on their experience, so here is mine.

After the interview yesterday, I think I have started liking access bank. I just applied for applying sake and wrote the test for sake of writing the test then I attended the interview just as a way improving my interview skills as I am currently working, but during the interview we had a good conversation, from the "tell me about yourself" question which led to an in depth discussion about one of my hobbies then she asked what my mom thinks about the hobby which then led to a discussion about my family, what they do and my position in my family. While going through my LinkedIn Then she became more serious and asked about "my 5 year plan" and I linked it to access bank then she asked why access bank, I was talking then she interrupted and asked for more details about an access bank product that I mentioned, then that led to the "what would you do if you are not accepted" I told her i would apply again noni, I am very resilient and determined like that. then she gave me some career advice and I asked two questions, 1 behavioral and 1 technical and she answered them well.

The two questions that I didn't answer well by the response in their body language was "how do you know that you would fit in access bank" and "what would you do if you are not accepted". (Now I am going to work on my response to these questions for my next interview with another company)

Bear in mind that it was a panel of 4 but I really connected with that one. Two were marking my reactions and taking notes.

But overall it i have mixed reactions about the recruitment process, you make people sign in in one building then move to another building to get panel and flour number then move to another building to attend the interview. I believe They could have done better

I hope this helps someone. Cheers

Career / Re: Banking Career + Masters Pursuit In Abuja, How Tenable? by black101(m): 1:08am On Dec 22, 2016
i think i have met you before in the second floor of the branch in wuse market early this year.

Kockane:
Hello everyone,

Please I need your advise. I'm at wits end as to how to successfully combine my career as a banker, which takes almost all of my time, with pursuit of a master's degree.

I am 27, a graduate of Anatomy, 2.2 from a Federal University, with about 2 years banking experience. I recently got promoted to the level of an Assistant Banking Officer (ABO) in one of the top Banks in the country. Take home pay is about 330k/month so I'm fairly comfortable. I'm still single and ain't looking to marry within the next two-three years so I believe I have time to wrap up my masters degree before taking the big step.

I'm looking to further my education, concurrently with my work, no passion for the sciences anymore, so I'm looking at an MBA. I've heard a lot of talk about online programs but I've come to realise they are either overly expensive or the cheap ones have little or no recognition in the labour market. I've tried the distance learning in one of the universities in the southeast but couldn't keep up due to time constraint, had to drop out cuz I missed a couple of tests and exams. I've also considered the National Open Uni but honestly speaking, I'd rather pursue my dreams at an institution with more pedigree (no offense intended).

Pls, I'd appreciate if there are any MBA programs that are cheap and flexible for working class individuals like myself based in Abuja who have a tight schedule. Thanks everyone.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Fresh Nationwide Stanbic IBTC Graduate Trainee Recruitment Program by black101(m): 8:07am On Nov 21, 2016
so I wrote the test on 18th of Oct and didnt receive any update until last week when I emailed the HR at S.IBTC, Moyosore, who is working in place of Oreoluwa, any email to Ore gets an auto reply to contact Moyo, so Moyo sent me a mail saying that I completed only the bio-data portion of the assessment which is why my application would not be processed any further. Which is however not true because I complete the bio data section then completed the second part of the assessment that had 29 question and upon exhaustion of the time, qualtrics had brief message on screen saying that I had successfully completed the assessment, so I dont understand where all this one is coming from. If you havent received a reply, I suggest you mail all of them to get to the bottom of this. Atleast from this thread I can see that I am not the only one awaiting a feedback from the assessment.
