I have taken this into consideration... I will go with faith, I know with practically answering the questions right they might just avoid looking for the standardized test results. I think if the composure is right a whole lot of stuff will be waived off.. Two of my friends who recently went for the interview did not even show their score even though they wrote.. I dey pray baba God to see me through.. The tension before the embassy sef is something else.. I'm just trying to be calm and I'm not going to move the date, I will go like that 50/50 is not a bad score. My school starts early January and I cant afford to wait any longer.
godG: Been a while here.

Sorry about your predicament. We now live in an age where everything, instead of going to the ideals, is going awry. Now the realities of being Nigerian are dawning on us. sad

Before RR answers your questions with his typical epistles, let me do. smiley

To your questions, I'm afraid you might have to go for your interview without any test. Time is no more on your side. Having the luxury of time to go through the stress of registering for those tests now is not something you can afford. The GRE, for instance, shouldn't be written for the sake of writing - sit for it to be aced. Sadly, time flies.

You might want to consider TOEFL, but you still have to plan ahead. See, if you are hellbent on sitting for a test, consider IELTS or better still, change the date of your interview to a convenient date. Taking a test score to the embassy now will prove to the VO that you are a daring student who, against all odds, reaches for his/her dreams.

On the contrary, having a test isn't really a sure-bet for your visa approval, it rather gives you an edge. Traditionally, the odds are not in favour of a non-test-taker at the embassy, but we have seen people with no test granted visa. One of our Ogas here is a living example.

These are what you could do:
1. If you are not the confident type, and your school's resumptions is still far ahead, postpone your interview to a better date.

2. Go with an undebased confidence to the embassy and pray for favor and that the universe should command the gratification of your desire (mind you, with this second alternative, you are banking on luck and the Divine.) smiley

3. Pray, hope and don't worry. **my $100 I could be wrong. smiley

May the Good Lord, grant you the wisdom and strength to make the right choice(s).

Ricky Rozay and others in the house..
My interview is like in 3 weeks and I have not written any standardized test because of this latest ETS ban on Nigeria.. But my school waived all these test for me. Does anyone think its a good idea to go without any of those tests? Besides, I have already told my school to send me a letter that stands for the waiver.. You guys have really helped me especially Ricky Rozay... No one wants to go to the Yankee Embassy twice, I'm really going for it with one shot. I need your advises like water...

Is it possible to do a voluntary job for a period of 2 years and above? I think that would funny to them.. Just saying.
Can I say my salary is very low and I was just working there to gain the experience while I wait to further my education... Something like that.. PM me your contact details..Please..
Ricky Rozay: #GBAM!!! You just hit it right on the head. Perfect!!! That is a very perfect idea.

Also, if I were you, If asked about your income, I will let the VO know that I'm NOT earning while working as your services were voluntary, because you were there to gain the conceptual skills needed to develop Expertise in your chosen field pending when you gain admission into the University to pursue your Bsc degree, as getting a Bsc degree will make you highly prized in the company when you return to take up a suitable position in the company.

You're the bomb. I'm gonna just do that.. I could say I was retained by the company I did my IT with.. Maybe that would help. Let me know if this idea is wrong.
Ricky Rozay: Looking at the highlight of your write-up, I can say you have almost closed the gap.

Just look for a company you can claim you worked with for the period of 2011 to 2013. Simple!!!!

Also, the company you will claim you worked with must be Related to your academic Major you intend pursuing in the US.

Also back it up with an Employment letter and Study leave letter from the company just in case the VO demands to see proof of Employment. But the Vos hardly ask for documents.

I finished my Secondary School in 2005, got into the Polytechnic in 2007 finished my OND in 2009, did one year IT, in 2010 then I decided not to continue education in Naija. Please advise and tell me if that's a good enough story to tell.
imperiouxx: Your age exponential the last time you left sec school multiply by what you've been doing since the interval. If the answer is a large number, you got many things to worry about. Best of luck.

House, I'm new here.. My interview is coming really soon, I have concerns with my age.. I am applying for Undergraduate Degree, I'm 29 and its my first time. I will cherish any ideas and would really appreciate any advice. This interview thing is giving me a thought and I am jacking for it like I am preparing for an examination. What should I look out for apart from my documents... my major area of concern is my age.
