OgidiOlu3: Exactly. The film isn't about what they did but the fact that they could even have a rethink. No one knows if they eventually went ahead with the plan or if they aborted the mission and I couldn't care less about it. If it was about vengeance, she'd definitely have gotten her revenge.
You remember the hospital scene where Welby (who was beaten and pushed out of a window by Dixon) offered the same Dixon some juice after he got burnt. Forgiveness, huh?
Don't forget the last scene where Mildred confessed to Dixon about starting the fire that almost killed him (Dixon) and what did he say?
Mildred Hayes: I need to tell you something... It was me that burned down the police station. Dixon: Well, who the hell else would it have been?
..and they laughed over it.
I think the movie preaches forgiveness. You're right on your side. I don't think the movie doesn't preach forgiveness. what I think is- the woman went in search for justice which lead her to vandalise a police station. The fact that in the last scene we don't know whether they went ahead with the idea of murdering the rapist or not is a question of common sense. Her daughter was raped and murdered, She had a gun in her car on her way to visit a rapist, who's also a violent individual. What do you imagine would happen? You think they would tell him -hey, I know you're a rapist, I forgive you but come to the station and confess your crime? Let's just agree that there were acts of forgiveness in the movie, but also along with that a rigorous search for justice. |

OgidiOlu3: I'm sorry my brother but I think you've missed the point. It's about forgiveness, not revenge. What type of forgiveness are talking about? OK let's say she was looking for justice instead. But you remember the last scene right, where they were contemplating whether or not to murder that rapist? So what is that? |

OgidiOlu3: It was a nice movie with good story, acting and cinematography. I enjoyed the score most though and I think Alexandre Desplat should win the Oscar for it this year but I also think they're lowkey promoting bestiality. All in all, it's a wonderful movie.
You should watch Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri and Wonder if you haven't. Those two might get you tearful, or at least, feeling choked. Three billboards is just a simple vendetta movie. I'll question the character of anybody what cry for that movie. |

GavelSlam: The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.
Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." Ezekiel 25:17 |

Mindfulness: I grew up around Westerners who were raised in a different way. My parents were extremely strict but the other kids were more responsible than me. I changed with time but I know that I will raise my kids differently 'cause not trusting your kids and being over-controlling does not lead to the desired results. The Nigerian society is proof of that. It's all started from the home |

this has got to be one of the craziest movies I've seen
solid 11/10 11/10 Just finished watching it. Almost everyone in the movie was a villain. The last conversation with Tom was so full of undertones. He made his threats all through but they didn't realize until the bag was finally opened. It was generous of him to give them the information about the the guns, which we will never know whether it benefited them . And now he's, Tom, the only guy that really benefited from all the brouhaha. Ishilove, thanks so much. |

Black panther: the story line left me with some funny kind of nostalgia for African and this black race shit(pardon). I think they did a very good research on the movie, 200million dollars no be beans, right? But the actions scenes and some conversation lines are too 'somhow', it makes me felt like I was reading a comic book. Rating = 5.8/10 |
